Need Grassroots/Beginner Advice-Wiregrass Area/Alabama

Looking for advice on the best way to help. I've filled out the volunteer form on the RP2012 website twice, but have yet to hear from the official campaign. (I'm assuming their directing the majority of their efforts at the early primary states.)

Unfortunately I don't have a RP/C4L meetup group in my immediate community, with the closest being about 90 miles away. My tentative plan so far is to start a meetup group where I live (in Dothan, Alabama) and begin attending the local Republican/Tea Party meetings, as well as contacting the nearby RP/C4L meetup groups. So far my involvement is limited to big RP magnets on my car. And I have had a few people ask questions or seem interested just from this small effort.

Any other suggestions, or advice on how to get the word out in the local community about a meetup?

I'm recently out of the military, and have been a Ron Paul fan since I stumbled upon his message in 2007.

Also, if anyone here is from the Wiregrass area of Alabama/Georgia/Florida, message me!

My site for grassroots activism is here. I'm biased, but I hope you'll take a look at all of my posts (not too many yet):
