On Monday night (09/12/2011) in the CNN/Tea Party Republican Debate former Senator from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum continued his confrontation with Congressman Dr. Ron Paul regarding American foreign policy, resurrecting notions brought up in the 2008 campaign by former Mayor of New York City Rudy Guiliani. I am writing about the underlying reasons or motivations behind the Jihadist attacks on the World Trade Center Towers and Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. Rick Santorum, apparently, has imbued al-Qaeda with the intricate thought process to clearly and deliberately inform us of their motivation (retaliation for decades of occupation, oppression, corruption, and coercion) in a supposed attempt to veil their true motivations as Rick Santorum sees them: they hate America, its freedom, and its exceptionalism.

al-Qaeda’s explicitly declared motivation (per their own members and videos): retaliation for occupation, oppression, corruption, and coercion.

Rick Santorum’s believed motivation (per his own mind): America is too good and the Muslim world dislikes us in some sort of cultural jealousy or competition.
