John "Honus" (Hands) Wagner was considered the best baseball player of his era (1900 -1917). He played his entire career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning 9 batting championships. His T-206 Tobacco baseball card was placed as an insert in cigarette packs. Production of Honus Wagner ball card were halted because the outraged Wagner, was anti cigarette and objected to the placement of his baseball card to promote cigarette smoking. Due to rarity and his greatness as a ball player some of his cards have been sold for over 1 million bucks in mint condition..On a scale of 1-10 a mint condition card would be graded an 8-9. In those days production a near mint to mint grade was a very rare event because the art of ball card production hadn't been perfected.
