Jay Leno Jokes about Ron Paul, Not Funny

The opening joke on Leno's monologue tonight:

So apparently Ron Paul wants to kill your little kittens. The reality was that Ron Paul stated in the most recent debate that he volunteered his services through the church so that nobody was turned away. But Leno didn't care about that important point.

Or maybe Leno isn't to blame here, perhaps his writers are simply going off of this now viral video where Dr. Paul's incredible explanation is simply edited out, giving the impression that he agrees with those in the audience yelling, "yeah, let em die!"

More dirty tricks and bad jokes and SNL hasn't even started yet, brace yourselves.

does this with all politicians that are on the radar. For Leno to joke about Ron, or any politician, without there being some criminal or sexual scandal is more of an honor than anything. Much of the time his jokes are playing more on the hyperbole and distortions of the Media than on the politicians themselves. And the audience understands this.

Leno is a comedian...

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

I quit watching Leno

a couple years ago. It may be his writers material but, I couldn't take his love fest for the liberal agenda leaning. I was an avid watcher since he took over for Johnny Carson. I recall his first "visit" appearances on Johnny as a stand up.

Too bad for Jay, he forgot where he came from; maybe? I have resigned from jobs for not being able to "sell out my soul." He is aiding the selling out of our Republic, in my opinion. And there is nothing funny about that!

There is no such thing as bad press ... this is going to be a big weekend for the campaign which appears to be gaining momentum by the day

oh the irony

Ron Paul is one of the only ones who would treat the cat anyway.

I hope there is a blow back

I have a feeling this is going to turn out good.

Ron Paul is like a predator trap (why the GOP fears his supporters). I could see PETA or who have you (I have pet insurance ASPCA costs about $20 mo.) now searching/googling Ron Paul, and chances are, his record is going to SHINE a light, and we will get more supporters FOR Ron Paul.

Thiis my hope that on all MSM attacks on Ron Paul, will be blow back that's FOR us.

Good news

Last time he wasn't mentioned at all, except for when Leno actually had him on. Comedians wouldn't have Dr. Paul in their monologues if they didn't think he was a big enough deal to include in the national dialogue.

I don't much care for Mr. Bailout Herman Cain, but he said one thing that was spot on - "America needs to learn to take a joke."

Believe it or not

pet insurance is a real thing. It's not a bad idea either. Two weeks after getting my dog (and opting against pet insurance) my dog broke her leg. $3,600 later I wished I had bought the $6/month pet insurance with the $200 deductible. It would've saved me a lot of money.

Actually Jay would be quite

Actually Jay would be quite smart to take his sick pet to a GP like Ron Paul. We all know he wouldn't turn an emergency away, even a cat. I wonder if insurance companies, now for pets, is endorsing Leno's spot on his TV show. Compassion and Charity exist in Ron Paul's policy positions. Those attributes of a humanist society are being destroyed by gov't's forced entitlement programs which lead people to expect what is 'yours' should be 'theirs' too.

this is a good!

As someone else posted, if Jay puts you in the monologue it means you are TOPtier! YEAH and who has PET insurance? that is a bigger part of the joke ... - I'd like to see the video to it.

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized. "

Yes, I'd like it to.

Yes, I'd like it to. Sometimes if a joke is said dryly enough, no one gets it unless they see it a couple of times.

But I can make jokes on top of Leno's joke with that.

Oh, what will we do without pet insurance.

Jay Leno has made fun of every candidate out there, this doesn't mean he's on some parade to smear him. A joke is a joke, though I'm sure the uninformed yuppies will take assume Paul's a nut.

Leno had Paul on his show during the last election when Paul was no invited to the Fox News Debate, so Leno is as much of an ally as anyone else.

No, to joke about RP allowing

No, to joke about RP allowing your kitten to die is a slanderous stance since RP clearly stated that he would work as a doctor for free if someone couldn't afford his services.

I could even forgive this if the joke was funny, it wasn't. So clearly it was told in order to satiate someone's Anti-Paul agenda.

Does anyone have pet

Does anyone have pet insurance? Does anyone want to live in a society that HAS pet insurance?? That's a dig the other way.

Most humor, if it is good, is balanced. Not saying it was good, I didn't see it.

I simply asked Leno if he was making fun of Ron Paul. I refrained from saying if he was making fun of my homeboy.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Here's Conan with the Ron Paul photoshop

that ron_is_for_real mentioned below, pretty hilarious!

Ron rocked it!

has jumped the shark long ago. He's terribly unfunny.

You have to be widely known to be in Leno's opening line

And this just goes to show you that Ron Paul is indeed widely known. Yeah, the line was a shot, but what major figure hasn't taken a shot from Leno? I take it as proof that Ron Paul is indeed a major figure.

This stuff is getting really

This stuff is getting really despicable.... I just threw up.... There are articles now that actually are trying to infer that Ron Paul was responsible for Kent Snyder's death...

We however should be happy about this. Its coming EARLY so there is plenty of time for us to explain and fight this vile nonsense which will hopefully backfire...

BUT Paul REALLY needs to step up his game and explain things better.. He needs to practice shorter and more concise sound bytes. Its not that hard. he cannot try to give an hour lecture in 30 seconds, which ends up sounding like he is stumbling, stuttering and speaking incomplete sentences.

I watched Jim Lehrer the other night on Daily show and he said that LOOKS and appearance is SOOO important to winning, and he was talking about just physical appearance, as in beautiful. He was talking about presentment. He said that Nixon regretted not taking his own presentation more serious. He said that the debate with Kennedy on paper was won by Nixon hands down, but watching Kennedy won, because of his appearance.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

of course he did

Ya he did ..just a silly

Ya he did ..just a silly one-liner. THIS however, is a WONDERFUL video posted by someone on RPF when Ron was on his show in 2008. You will just be blissed out watching this thing, the way it was put together and all..

Yes indeed!

This has always been one of my favorite RP videos. It is, as you say, very well put together, and I recommend everyone watch it. It amazed me that Ron had such passionate support from an apparent group of Hollywood elites at a swanky L.A. home. Poor Dr. Paul looks totally exhausted as he sits there watching himself on Leno!

I think he made another lame joke last night (Wed)

but can't remember...will have to look it up on his page.

Probably his lame writers

They are a bunch of hacks. During the writer's strike a couple of years ago leno wrote his own monologues and they were the funniest they've been in years.

Still, one would think he would have veto power over such a terrible joke but he went with it. Doesn't he know by now how many of us are out there?

Amyway, on Conan's show he (Conan) did a funny bit about pics that had been "photoshopped". The first one was a regular undoctored photo of the good doctor. Then they showed the "pre-photoshopped" version (which was obviously the opposite) and it had Ron Paul wearing these funky sunglasses and his hands were playing multiple keyboards. It was funny and I laughed. No harm done and gets him some expsoure.

Dr Paul should appear on Letterman, too.

Letterman actually endorsed Ron Paul, years ago.

We should get him to do it, again.

I've seen that "endorsement"

and I'm not sure he was being serious.

Talk back
