Are Evangelical Christians Warmongers? -Chuck Baldwin

"So, what has happened to turn the most peace-loving institution the world has ever known (the New Testament church) into the biggest cheerleaders for war? I’m talking about un-provoked, illegal, unconstitutional, unbiblical–even secret–wars of aggression. The biggest cheerleaders for the unprovoked, unconstitutional, pre-emptive attack and invasion of Iraq were evangelical Christians. Ditto for the war in Afghanistan, the bombing of Libya, the attacks in Yemen, etc. Who is calling for the bombing of Iran? Evangelical Christians. Who cheers for sending more and more troops all over the world to maim and kill more and more people (including innocents)? Evangelical Christians. Shoot (pun intended)! Most evangelical Christians didn’t even bat an eye when the federal government sent military and police personnel to murder American citizens, including old men, women, and children–Christian old men, women, and children, no less–outside Waco, Texas."

Chuck Baldwin would make a

Chuck Baldwin would make a great VP.

If they are warmongers

then they are not Christians (at least not in the pure sense of the word - disciples of Christ).

And if they are true Christians they will support Israel - not the corrupt aspects of the Israeli government but the fact that God, the Creator of the universe, chose the Jewish people to be His elect. That does not exclude the Church (true Christians) - she is a separate entity.

Promises were made to Israel that would have been fulfilled had they accepted their Messiah 2000 years ago - but they did not, so God turned His attention to the Chruch and every generation since has been partakers of the Church Age. Israel was set aside for a bit. When this age is over (soon), He will once again look to Israel and finish the promises He made to her.

You can laugh, deny, or ignore what I'm saying. It does not matter - God will do what He said He will do whether man believes Him or not.

That is why Chuck Baldwin does not speak against Israel.

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

I agree. This is why I

I agree. This is why I support absolutely zero military or financial funding to Israel. If you have true faith, you know God almighty will protect Israel, and he doesn't need Nukes or Federal Reserve notes to do it.

Very good post

however you have to distinguish between the Israel of the Bible and the godless, materialistic, illegal and genocidal political entity that currently occupies Palestine.

In a Word

(Thought there are some exceptions).

Good article, but I had hoped

Baldwin would have made the link to zionism.

Most evangelical pastors push blind loyalty to Israel onto their congregations.
It seems even the teachings of Christ take a backseat to this madness.

To question whether our tax dollars should support Israel and the IDF brings the usual cries of anti-semitism.

I feel the church was sold a bill of goods, not sure when or how it started. I've read that the Scofield study bible may have had something to do with this.

Not me

I'm an usher at my Evangelical Church. I try to talk to a lot of people, and I tell them my theory is todays Zionism is actually intended to pave the road for Anti-Christ so he can come along and not only appear to have the answers to the problems, but then so he can sit on the throne of the temple in Jerusalem and claim he's God.

You are spot on my friend.

You are spot on my friend. Today's evangelical movement has degenerated into some quasi Zion worship, and detest the message of Christ. If this was even 100 years ago, where wide swath's of the population were illiterate, I could be a little more forgiving. But at this point in time, there is no excuse in the wholesale ignorance of parishioners.
The Bible has a wonderful story in which Pontius Pilate offers the Israelites the choice of his annual clemency, Barabbas or Christ. The Bible tells us that, "with one voice" the people cry to pardon Barabbas. This story hods true today. And not to compare Paul to Christ, but there is a parallel.

Oh, and another thing... If the Muslim countries hate our freedoms so much, and our wars are to "spread freedom" throughout their lands, then isn't it a lost cause from the get go? I mean, is it even worth attempting if their very religion prevents them from ever going with the program?

The neo-cons are a battleship without a rutter!

Check out my post, equating

Check out my post, equating Rick Perry to Barabbas. I think it is a valid point, and is great ammo to try and enlighten the Pharisees. :)

I really like Chuck Baldwin....

Ron Paul threw his support behind him during the last election. That says it all I guess.

Me too, he is a very smart man.

I voted for him last time.

Chuck Baldwin is a true

Chuck Baldwin is a true Christian. And so is Ron Paul. The war mongering Republicans are fake Christians.
