Newt Gingrich on Ron Paul: "History will recognize him"

In response to this tweet, Newt just tweeted the following a few minutes ago:

@David_Kretzmann there is no question ron paul was the first serious national leader to take on federal reserve history will recognize him

Make sure you retweet it.

BTW this isn't the first time Gingrich has praised the good doctor. This is what Newt said a few months ago in case you missed it:

And let me say in this regard that there is no elected official who has done a greater job of bringing to public attention the very serious problems raised by the operations of the Federal Reserve than Texas Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul.

We all owe him a debt of gratitude for focusing our attention on the very real erosion of American freedom and prosperity caused by the actions of the Federal Reserve.

Complement accepted, but don't trust this guy.

Like the devil, he is unpredictable.

Yeah, Gingrich is a real "friend".

As Speaker, Newt dissolved the subcommittee Ron was in line to lead and ran a candidate against Ron when Ron tried to return to Congress. Ron Paul once said that Barney Frank had been fairer to him than Newt Gingrich.

$.02 on Newt

CFR member, brilliant historian, very shrewd politician, NWO advocate, talented speaker and debater, Free Mason, philanderer, the jingoist Committee on the Present Danger....

A real mixed bag. Some good. A lot of bad.

Hate to be cynical but this strikes me as a tactical move. He is a brilliant tactician.

I strongly believe anytime a

I strongly believe anytime a MSM figure comes out praising Ron Paul...they are actually threatening the NWO! They are actually saying that "hey NWO! you better prop up my campaign or else I'm gonna endorse Ron Paul and release all hell on your schemes!"

As mentioned below an

As mentioned below an endorsement from Newt would connect us with the baby boomers. So if he drops out... Play nice with him.

I have had my disagreements

I have had my disagreements with Newt, and his character flaws. But when he is right, I'll credit it too him. He is a historian by training so he probably looking at this from an academic point.

Settle down, people. Newt is

Settle down, people. Newt is about as soul-less and phony as they come. Check out this excerpt, from the link below, indicating how Larry McDonald felt about Newt -- the same Larry McDonald whom Ron Paul called the most principled man in Congress (before he was assassinated with the shootdown of KAL Flight 007 in 1983).

"In 1981 this writer asked Georgia Congressman Larry McDonald for an evaluation of the rising Republican star from his neighboring 6th District. His reply was surprising at the time. Newt Gingrich, he said, was a devious and ambitious politician masquerading as a conservative and not one to be trusted. Gingrich had gone out of his way, Dr. McDonald said, to obstruct and to undermine support of conservative members of Congress for some of McDonald's legislative efforts. This was particularly disturbing since Rep. McDonald was the most conservative member of Congress by virtually all rating systems and would have been a natural ally of Gingrich if Gingrich were truly conservative. In July 1983, the Conservative digest compared the voting scores of the leading conservatives in Congress based on ratings from the American Conservative Union, the Committee for the Survival of a Free Congress, the National Conservative Political Action Committee, and the New American's only Conservative Index. Congressman McDonald topped the list at a combined 98.3 percent. Congressman Gingrich weighed in at an anemic 77.5 percent.

I'm not disputing your claim

I'm not disputing your claim about McDonald's conservatism, but he was a Democrat. Perhaps Newt was just playing politics. I haven't researched much beyond the passage you quoted, but I know Newt is a politician first and a conservative second.

I've heard Ron speak nicely

I've heard Ron speak nicely of Newt before, calling him one of the bigger intellectuals in the legislature.

There is honor in recognizing the accomplishments of others.

History will recognize him alright...

... as the 45th President of the United States of America!

Great Post!

Loved it...

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

getting himself a cabinet

getting himself a cabinet position with this talk, lol.

I do notice that Paul and Gingrich do talk a bit during the debates. We know they are not on the same page on many things, but when has Paul never worked on alliances?

Ron Paul 2012 Strategy Advisor

I think Wead, Fein, and Gingrich, would be a powerhouse team. Not to mention the press exposure THAT headline would garner.

If there was ever a man who

If there was ever a man who could connect with Ron Paul's message and convey it to the Baby Boomers of America, it's Newt Gingrich.

I'd call this something short of an endorsement...

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

More like

If there ever was a piece of scum that could steal Ron Pauls message, write a chapter in perrys book, and enlist santorem to attack ron pauls foriegn policy, its' name is newt.

All the more reason

All the more reason to hire him on the campaign staff and bind him with a confidentiality contract. I bet he'd love the chance to match wits with Karl Rove, Ed Rollins, etc. and out maneuver them ftw.

It would be an interesting

It would be an interesting twist.
