Is It A Crime To Rig A Straw Poll?

Since this isn't technically a legitimate election-style monitored activity, is there any real threat of uncovering fraud?

The reason why I ask is because, I've been listening to the NEO-CONS for many years now and I'm in tune with their language and their pre-staging of shaping the next talking points. I've heard this statement too many times recently "Whoever wins the Florida Straw Poll, will be the nominee". They usually don't go out and corner themselves unless it's a sure bet.

My concern is that calling the straw poll a "private" event outside of public scutiny makes it a convinient tool for shaping people's opinion if rigged without the fear of election fraud or jail.

Yes - But even a bigger crime to CANCEL one.

Reference Texas.

Who claimed "LACK OF INTEREST."

How stupid does the Texas republican committee think we are???

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

If last

time was any indicator, then I would say yes, it will be rigged.

Hopefully we'll have some cameras at the ready to catch them ...again.

Wow, looks worse than this

Wow, looks worse than this time.

That is the problem when you give an impression that the straw poll you are giving is something other than what it really is. If you told people that the last straw poll in Florida was just who could buy the most tickets as opposed to real people voting, than no one being told about it would value it.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Yeah

I don't have a good feeling about this one. My hunch is that there are no consequences for cheating in these straw polls and at the same time, they can misuse the false results to trick the uneducated population into believing that there is momentum for a certain person and the sheep fall in line. Again

Thanks for the video

It's not rigged, it just

It's not rigged, it just doesn't have the same meaning.

Most polls are either a random selection of likely voters, or are the tickets of activists in the GOP that will show up at a GOP event, and mean something either as to what likely voters are thinking or what grassroots and activist support a candidate actually has.

The straw poll in Florida represents 30% of the current GOP bosses, politicians, etc, in Florida, and after that a pool selected by random lottery of everyone that went to their GOP bosses in June (or had their names added by the political boss). So it represents the political machinary in Florida. Not random voters or popular support.

I already know what the machine thinks, and the poll is pretty meanigless. They won't pump up that part of the poll though. They will take it, and make the poll look like it represents the same things as other polls not taken the same way represent.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

And so the CA Straw Poll Represented Grass Roots?

IOWs; The 44% who voted for Ron in CA straw poll merely paid for the convention event (which was weak by comparison to the LPAC happening in Reno at the same time).

With 55 electoral votes and BULLY politics in CA, RULED by the Democratic Party, Perry and Romney' absence means if CA has anything to do with the election, Obama will have another term, because the CAGOP is too weak, being so many neocons who really enjoy being drunk on defense money and blaming Obama, needed grassroots to pay for their convention?

What does the CA poll have to

What does the CA poll have to do with the Florida poll we're talking about?

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Comparison of tactics

Why would Ron Paul have a LPAC w/ bootcamp at the same time as the CA GOP convention and straw poll, which cut his votes as my Meetup went to Reno, not CA convention?

That said, I hope we beat

That said, I hope we beat them anyway.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

fraud?

fraud?

My CA GOP says NO

CA GOP straww poll was not rigged, but I have been told several times by my committee that, WE MAKE THE RULES AND WE CAN BREAK OUR OWN RULES. That's the way it is.

I don't like it, but it is legal.
