Asking Rick Santorum where Ron Paul is at CPAC 2011

This is my first post here, but I visit the site daily. I attended CPAC in Orlando yesterday and couldn't resist sharing this with you all!

Shortly after Ron Paul spoke at the Faith & Freedom Coalition event, we bumped into Rick Santorum in the lobby area at the Rosen Centre Hotel where it was being held. Since Dr. Paul spoke after him, I hoped we'd get a chance to see him, too.

We really wanted to meet Ron Paul, shake his hand and thank him for his unwavering dedication to defending the Constitution. But I didn't know which door to wait by, so I thought I'd ask Rick Santorum.

My friend was lucky enough to get a video of it.

That was pretty cool jab.

I liked it alot.:D

I don't understand...

What is the problem? I don't see how this interaction was either malicious or a burn on Santorum. The poster was both polite and curtious to Santorum with the inquiry. In the video the reason for asking Santorum was stated '...he came out the with you. We just want to know where to wait.' People need to stop looking for drama where there is none.

Besides the previously stated, as far as I am concerned, Santorum is an enemy of liberty and should be treated as such.

Our ignorance and apathy is what greases the wheels of the machine...

I just wanna say

that this is the kind of first post from a new member that I really like to see.

I have been getting so sick and tired of first posts from new members telling people they shouldn't talk about 9/11, or that Dr. Paul should get a new suit, or that the entire world of RP supporters should kow-tow to their newbie uneducated neocon-loving whims. Finally, somebody new comes in that wants to kick some neocon a$$. Thank God there's somebody with a spine still out there.

WELCOME to the Daily Paul!

Well said my friend..

well said.

I'd just like to say...

As the guy behind the cell phone here, she did address him as "Mr. Santorum" and said "excuse me" right before I could start recording.

It seems like a couple of people here may be overreacting a bit as to the "maliciousness" of her query. It's not as if we assaulted him on his views on Iran, his horrendous comments on Dr. Paul "supporting" polygamy, or any one of the hundreds of topics that we could have drilled him with. It was really quite a polite exchange! (AND entertaining!)

Of Course

Of Course the Odds are stacked against us. Its a Revolution :) no offense at all just thinkin

I'm just saying

let's not sabotage ourselves. What we do as supporters matters disproportionately to other candidate's supporters. It's not fair but there it is. It's not worth the cheap laughs. It wasn't the worst thing one could ever do to another person obviously, but it just seems like a technique that a liberal would do.

Just my 2 cents.

The odds are stacked against us

As a former neocon who thought that Ron Paul was a bit off and that his followers were rude and CRAZY, I recommend that you not indulge in this type of behavior. This only reinforces the negative stereotype of Paul supporters. I know this seems "harmless" to some, but it's not. Ron Paul doesn't do this stuff and neither should the people championing him. Ron Paul is all class. Shouldn't we be a cut above, too?

You have to be better. I have to be better, too. It's a daily struggle. It's a mighty struggle in my case.

Yeah..kinda like driving

Yeah..kinda like driving better when your car is plastered with RON PAUL 2012. :) But we have lots of dumb supporters, too, and we have to welcome them as well. I went to MN with 3 supporters I had never met before and did not get along with any of them, at all.
Not that THEY were dumb..just Ron was the only thing we had in common and the things we did not were FAR apart.

People like Rick sell us out to the money bags

I think that is disrespectful then we are supposed to respect them. Give me a break!

I thought this was a very

I thought this was a very douche bag thing to do.

Then Santorum being helpful and pointing it out for them,

just makes it worse.

I can't believe this has been voted up.

In a way your are right, Rick

In a way your are right, Rick Santorum was likable in this video.
On a personal level I do not have anything against him!
I disagree with him very, very often, but thats OK.

Especially in the last election circle we sometimes got carried away. I think, because there was the feeling "everybody against us" and "we against all of them". We had the feeling that we had to beat the hole system...

This time I think it's much better. I share your aspiration for not treating the other ones badly and for not casting a poor light on Ron Paul and the freedom movement with you.

I don't think, we are making Santorum to a personal enemy with it. It's just a little completely harmless fun!

this should be taken down. we

this should be taken down. we have to stop alienating other people. this is just plain rude and the Good Doctor would be ashamed..

Wow...

I don't even know what to say. You need to set some priorities.

Come on,

I am for good manners, but that is just a little bit of harmless fun.

I'm not so sure.

Showing such blatant disrespect for someone who is considered (at least by the average citizen) to be a peer of Dr. Paul's does not win us any fans.

Let's focus on being respectful and nice, even if Santorum isn't. In a few months we'll need to be educating his supporters on how to support Ron Paul's foreign policy and how it's a stark contrast with Obama's unlike Santorum's. I would hate for them to think we're rude and choose not to vote/ stay informed just so they don't have to deal with us.

Best thing is to just google

Best thing is to just google Rick Santorum...LOL

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

I think I got nightmares

from that. :-P

ehmbee, that was awesome

Rick Santourum can have a position in the Paul White House. Doorman/greeter.

*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*

Funny!

Funny!

Yeah...

That seemed incredibly malicious and almost rude...

Here we are touting peace and yet we have folks who hate for no other reason than this guy has opinions he voices that we don't agree with?

We're no better than him if we blind ourselves to the good in people we don't understand.

I knew there'd be one...

Not to get defensive, but I didn't see it as callous, rude or malicious. It was just little awkward. I wanted to meet Dr. Paul and Santorum knew the most to help me out. I was pleasant, brief and polite. There was no malice or instigating. I wasn't wearing anything that showed I support Ron Paul. I didn't get in his face. At worst, this is ironic and slightly passive-aggressive. At best? It's amusing and I don't feel the least bit remorseful. I can guarantee you that neither one of us lost any sleep over it.

I'm glad you spoke up again.

It makes sense that you would ask Santorum because he would know where Paul was. I think the thread kind of took a wrong turn.

Maybe rude...but malicious?

I thought Santorum took it well enough. What would we think if people wasted Paul's time asking where Perry was?

I don't get the Santorum dislike either. At least he brings some real feeling to the debates, unlike the two clowns who play "keep away" with their arguments over who's book said what when.

He can only damage the Paul campaign if it fails to make Paul's position on pro-life issues very clear.

*Government can't legislate nor enforce all moral issues.
*States define and prosecute murder.
*Paul has a proven history regarding pro-life issues.
*The unjustified loss of life from unnecessary wars is a pro-life issue.
*Nations have a right to self-defense.

Ron Paul is the ultimate pro-life candidate. Let the voters know that and Santorum will no longer be a candidate.

No kidding...God forbid,

No kidding...God forbid, someone gets their feelings hurt during a revolution.

that SOB

wants to put young men and women in harms way, f-him. He deserves everything he gets. Bad people don't deserve respect.

Are you kidding? What could

Are you kidding? What could be so rude about asking for directions? What hell is so special about Santorum, is he above the rest of us that we are not allowed to treat him like a normal human being. ( and I use the terms loosely) Remember Santorum is part of the status quo establishment. He sold out to the banking cartel long ago, and sold his soul to the devil. Any good in that man is purely superficial and an illusion.

This was posted and voted on

This was posted and voted on because it was a "burn" to Santorum, so yes, it was rude, and it does show us to be callous. We have reason to be callous, but honestly, what would Ron Paul do?

Freedom Wins!

...

He would ask for directions. When Dr. Paul doesn't know something he does everything in his power to learn it.

I didn't think it was a burn, rude, or callous. Just because you interpret something one way doesn't mean everyone else does. Stop forcing your perspectives on me. Did you even read the post included with the video?

Freemason, huh? I guess not everyone can make it on their own. Unlike you I don't need other people to help me boost my self image. I don't find your group affiliations objectionable it's your egocentric attitude. Learn to stand on your own as an individual.

P.S. Grow a pair. Santorum deserves much worse than a moment of awkwardness.

What are you talking about?

Who is "malicious and almost rude"?
Who "hates"?

Sometimes we get carried away, when we are at the ground.
Well, let's say, I'm no fan of snowballs...

The wonderful thing about this is that it is completely harmless, but fun.

I have suggested to set a trend with it.
