Theories on WHY Fox is trying to exclude Ron Paul?
Submitted by TheOnlyHope on Sat, 12/29/2007 - 00:05
Is this a ratings ploy? Will they get press and then allow him to participate?
Is this the Arrogance of Power attempting to suppress the Movement?

Has Fox been asked WHY?
And have they actually given a reason?
"Fight wars for a just cause, not just because!"
Hey guys, let's calm down
Use your head, don't act out of anger.
Collectivism is slavery.
Collectivism is slavery.
'Blowback'?
It might also be that Fox has worked up a real dislike for Ron Paul because of all the emails they received from us and they type of emails they are. I know after the debate where Giuliani was basically allowed to cackle like a hyena, I sent them a not-very-thoughtful email basically accusing them of being neocon warmongers in bed with Dick Cheney who hate RP because he is pro-peace. I said they were crooked. Now, while I think all that is true, it is just as possible that although some at Fox are like that (Britt Hume, Billo and Bill Kristol) the rest are not and actually don't like the accusations or abuse. I think it does make it easy to marginalize us. So maybe we should send emails listing why he should be on and not why we think he isn't. Although this really really stinks big time. A large volume of intelligent emails will go further imo. And boycotts and so on.
"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."
Lew Rockwell
I think the motive behind
I think the motive behind excluding RP from the debate is obvious. They are hoping to send the message that he is irrelevant and has no chance of winning. The only problem with this is that they are trying to get the horse back in the barn. The Ron Paul Revolution is a wild stallion riding for freedom and there is absolutely nothing they can do to stop it. Though they will try.
I think your right
What better way to put us back in our place. Now it's in the news again that we are longshot. Insidious bastards!
Please be polite!!!!!! We
Please be polite!!!!!!
We don't want the angry phone calls or angry emails to backfire on us.
I don't want to hear "all Ron Paul supporters are crazy".
Please be polite!
Well you know why
Well you know why. They're scared s***less, they're seeing his support grow exponentially, and they think if they dismiss him, the masses will not become educated. Too late! They didn't count on every other person in America having access to the internet! Too late! We've begun to educate ourselves an others along the way. It's just too damn late. Like the old saying goes, if their lips are moving, they're lying. We are realizing that, and we don't believe a word MSM says.
You know they're SO desperate, that I wouldn't put it past them, if Ron Paul won a primary, for them to say, "Huckabee came in second, Romney third.." and so on and STILL not mention Ron Paul.
Guys, keep up the good work, and I think MSM's time is coming. The handwriting is on the wall. I'm beginning to see Ron Paul signs not only in the big cities, but in itty bitty towns also! This is for sure a good sign.
Perhaps in their infinite
Perhaps in their infinite wisdom, FOX is predicting that after Iowa, Paul will no longer be relevant. In their dreams.
Whatever the case, if I were a betting man, I'd wager FOX will change their minds after the deluge of communications from supporters puts them in their place. It is actually quite comical they think we will let them get away with this.
Look for news of Paul being added to the list tomorrow. :)
STOP!
Go to bed...rest your minds and think about this...FOX is nothing! We need to quit overreacting and get a grip. Sleep on it and then listen to Jane and Mike and we wlll organize tomorrow. Dr Paul will win and FOX has nothing to do with it! Everyone needs to pull themselves together and quit the kneejerk reactions. We are adults and we need to do this correctly. Forget FOX, Forget the media, turn your tv's off and start thinking about America! Do not lower yourselves to their level! We the People want freedom..we want our civil liberties and we want our country back...do NOT let the media control your lives any longer!
Best thing that could have happened!!!
Think about it my friends, then read the other streams where we are discussing the HUGE positives this could bring us.
"Luctor et Emergo" - Struggle and Emerge
I believe we should re-evaluate this!!
In My Opinion... this is a ploy to get the RP supporters act out and send expletive filled emails to them. They will then use these against us and promote that were all a bunch of nuts.
If you want to send emails, than send POLITE emails to all of the other media outlets (not FOX) drawing attention to their exclusion of Dr. Paul.
The exclusion of RP would do more to draw positive attention to his message than a bunch of hate filled emails that they will use on air to discredit the supporters.
If this doesn't produce results as we approach the debate than I believe we should all be prepared to hold our own "debate" outside the venue and/or a peaceful demonstrations at FOX affiliates across the nation.
Just my 2-cents.
Yes, I think it is a trap
But the thing is no mater what is written in an email or said on the phone, they will make things up, thats their MO.
BIG BUMP!!!
BIG BUMP!!!
Some smart ass...
Had the big idea on how to promote a crappy local debate "I know we'll just leave Ron Paul off the list for a few days! That will drive them nuts!" I really don't think they would think they could get away with it. One way or another it has to be contrived. That being said I can't think how they can hurt us by reporting how strong our response was though. So I think we should go after there sponsers. They will be expecting us to send them emails but not to their sponsers. Does anyone have a list of the major advertisers emails or phone numbers. Its all about the money.
Exactly... forget Fox, go for the Sponsors...
If they had crappy sponsors, it might not work... but I think it will expecially since I have an Amer. Express, Use Holiday Inn (everybody must have used them once and have an account there), Orbitz, Travelocity, Toyota, GMC, Best Buy.... any of these companies you have an account with can MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE....
I would love to see Fox have to decide to give in.... I dont think the mass media sheeple would really care one fig or another if Ron Paul is not allowed in... we are ONLY IN THE PRIMARIES here folks... not everyone in the nations is so gung-ho on what is RIGHT AND FAIR... that you would love to believe...
Sorry, but its reality... only very politically minded people are paying much attention right now (except in NH and Iowa due to the deluge) so I think the MAINSTREAM people of this country are pretty
HO -HUM about this and wouldnt give a flip!
just my two -bits - to me 70% of the people in this country are sheeple... sorry folks but thats the way I feel... will go in and pull straight demo or straight repub
yeah
Yeah. I agree. I don't see how they could get away with it. The dumbasses don't realize that every time they do something like this, it's only making Ron Paul more popular, and they shooting themselves in their own foot. They're just too dumb to realize it.
Every time they do a "fringe nutcase" report, it seems Dr. Paul picks up more supporters. But the fight is a long way from over. It's hard to campaign when the very fabric of the conduit to get your message across is actively working against you.
Freedom is never free.
from the comments, I think FOX is trying to be provocative
They know this would cause outrage and will try and paint Ron Paul supporters as Crackpots.
Imagine that
Faux News trying to Provoke Ron Paul supporters. Haha I agree!! They are probably laughing at us while they sip a nice hot cup of neocon lies.

Great POINT!!! That is why....
Keep making the calls. Keep sending the e-mails.
Say simply..."I am a fair and balanced American Citizen. I want Ron Paul to participate in the Roundtable on FoxNews Jan.6, 2008"
Let them get a million of those.

Try these on for size FOX...any other suggestions?
A few suggestions if I may - besides the mass e-mail/phone calling that is being suggested. So far, I've read that letters, e-mails, national sponsor boycotts have been suggested...here are a few others for submittal:
Contact your LOCAL FOX affiliate and tell them that you will be contacting their LOCAL ADVERTISERS about this to inform them that not only will they be boycotted, you will only use the services of their competitors and will tell everyone you know to do the same until they pull their ads or this corporate censorship is reversed. This approach could be far more effective than going to the main FOX company with their large corporate sponsors (many of whom are neo-cons!).
Contact CNN (Lou Dobbs), MSNBC and other direct competing broadcasters and media to see if they are going to run the story about FOX's RP exclusion...If they are truly competing, this will be something that they would and should jump on considering the size and scope of the issue - if they don't react, this proves they are all in on this censorship together!
IS THERE A LAWYER IN THE HOUSE?
According to the FCC regulations, aren't the airwaves officially owned by the American People and if so, aren't the licenses given out in the public trust? What about a class action lawsuit against this on behalf of the People of the United States of America?

Really, why fight Fox?!!!
They might have given us a golden opportunity! Why not get a competing TV station to host a one-hour or more interview with RP. Say a round table with several people to ask him questions and lines open for callers also.
That would be a lot better than the usual 3 questions they through at him with little time to answer. and will give the competing channels at least some of their lost audience.
Why not get CNN, MSNBC or any of the others a chance to interview him?
We can gain a lot from this. People will notice he's not in the Debate and he can explain why in his interview on the other channel. That would be perfect!

I agree, that would be perfect...however,
These media pigs all eat at the same trough. The only thing they understand is a controlled pointed movement. and they love money, so aim at the sponsors.

Exactly- pigs at the same trough.
The MSM is controlled by all the same people at the top- the people with the most to lose if- no WHEN, RP is elected. This is a war. Don't expect CNN to dump on Fox. I be totally shocked if that ever happened. There won't be a word of it.
So far boycotting the local Fox outlet sponsors sounds the best to me. Spread the pain around.
Fox wants YOU!! to Panic
They want us to panic.
To make rude phonecalls
To send rude E-mails.
Then, with big smiles they'll tell us about some miscommunication, and that Paul was never excluded.
Later, Bill gets to read some irate, curseword laden e-mails on the air, to show the world what kooks we are.
Stay calm!!!! rise above them.

you aren't wrong. They're DYING to get some of those anti-semitic, lunatic rants this close to the IA caucus.
NOT Wrong!!
NOT Wrong!!
Great explanation
Don't lose your cool, people. Fox can't hold out much longer.
I think you are right
They will make the big story all the "crazy, rude" Ron Paul supporters instead of what it really is... censorship - as UNamerican as one can get. I agree: let's be calm, smart, kind, respectful, not freaking out angry. That kind of out of control response will not help the good doctor!!

Brilliant article that explains why we love Dr. Paul:
