"Our first concern should always be for the rule of law, or we will continue to find ourselves under the rule of the lawless. This becomes of special concern when the lawless can now include the President of the United States."

Million dead

I know the implications of this are different, but we've killed a million including women, children, and six thousand of our own without so much a peep about whether they were guilty. In some ways this another one to put on our pile.

Paul even states that we may have a hundred just to get this guy.

The federal government...

is lying and covering its butt again....

"For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise." - Benjamin Franklin

on the bright side

recent history has proven that a despot that jails reformers, tortures and kills dissidents and attacks other countries unprovoked is due a fly-by from a predator drone.

"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"
Ron Paul

I detest these newspapers....

... that make you go through a whole registration process and then when you post a comment they won't publish it. In the mean time, the give other knuckleheads breathing fire and brimstone, one post after the other. My unpublished post for what it is worth:

Ron Paul has lived his whole political life by the dictates of the constitution. The 5th Amendment provides us with the protection of due process, going back to the days of Magna Carta in 1215. Hence, there is no way Dr. Paul would endorse unconstitutional state-authorized murder.

We have a Constitution that prescribes the limits of the State. Those who swear an oath to defend the Constitution ought to keep that oath.

I find it puzzling that so many people cheering this assassination are what I call warmongering pro-life Christians, with people like Santorum egging them on. They want to protect life in the womb (I have no problem with that), but go abroad and kill a million innocent people in their holy wars and in their pursuit after oil, for the benefit of the war profiteers and other corporate interests. What happened to,"do not repay evil with evil?"

On Wed. Sept. 28, the Wall Street Journal showed a photograph of Pakistanis in Hyderabad with posters saying: Crush America, Hate America, etc. If we elect Ron Paul, these Muslim nations would normalize their relations with the US. Acts of terror would stop, because Ron Paul has shown himself a man of integrity and consistency, not condoning, for the sake of political expediency, the firing of hellfire missiles into a crowd of innocent Muslims, hoping in the process to assassinate a presumed terrorist. It has nothing to do with being weak, but with defending our Constitutional rights and liberties - being truly American and what the country stood for through the centuries.

We are losing our innocence and our moral authority. George Bush cross the line and resorted to torture. The world media rightfully protested. Now we have taken it a step further with state-authorized assassinations. I would never in hundred years have believe this to be possible. We have not been made safer, not by any stretch of the imagination. We have just inflamed further hatred and we know what that breeds.

Santorum is a neo-con first, Pro-lifer religious guy second.

Neo-con Santorum fits perfect into egging this on. He threw his own fellow Catholic Pat Toomey under the bus so he could get "Benedict Arlen" Specter elected. Its why PA booted him out of office. Not that we have to be strict pacifist like the Amish, but Christianity isn't supposed to be about 24/7 crusades for democracy. Both popes said no to Iraq and Santorum doesn't care, he puts his establishment neo-con beliefs first. Same goes with many other pro-life Christians. They are putting the neo-con politics before their religion.

That was brilliant, editing in that POS

field hand president we have at the end. NEVER have I been so proud of Ron Paul, as when he spoke before Congress last week about this, and I noticed, no applause, hardly anyone there to hear him. Our Congress is disgusting. Those people ALL have blood on their hands who have turned away & won't be accountable for this monstrous act.

This is what I posted:
Can people not see the ultimate battle of good v. evil that is going on in our country? Good is Dr. Ron Paul. Evil is ALL the rest! How can people be so stupid as to stand for Obamao, Romney, Cain, Perry, Huntsman, Bachmann, Palin & all the rest of these POS candidates being shoved at us by our media when there is RON PAUL?!!!

For CHRISSAKES, our country is swirling down the drain. Is the next election going to be the ultimate flush of the toilet? Are we doomed???

God, why is Dr Paul so poor

God, why is Dr Paul so poor at expressing his points lately?? Obama, the dictator from hell, and leader of the most demonic government in human history has just assassinated an American citizen without a single formal charge OR SHRED OF EVIDENCE of any crime presented! Obama is a war criminal and a child butcher and this is the the fucking final straw!

Enough pussy footing around this. This isn't just "dangerous" it's fucking criminal and Obama needs to have his ass, Cheney's, Bush's, Clinton's, and the rest, hauled before a tribunal and have their fucking heads chopped off for their crimes against humanity. I'm sick of how delicate we're treating this blatant butchery and lawlessness!!

LOL.....the flavor of the

LOL.....the flavor of the week is Chris Christie...they are still trying to see if people will vote for him....NOT.......especially if the Bush Cabal is backing him......Just received this from a friend….please take the poll….

I am a human becoming, help me to become.

Is whomever wins the Republican nomination a "terrorist"?

Right in the middle of a debate, a sitting President could, if losing, push a button. End of contest.

I keep telling everyone we live in a contrarian society. Presidential authority has no bounds. A sitting President has the power of Kings.

wrong... no king ever held

wrong... no king ever held the power the US president has held for decades now - to target anyone anywhere for any reason he sees fit.

Hitler could never have even dreamed of the power Obama now claims at his fingertips

how is this so controversial?

If i understand correctly, this Anwar guy had no formal charges against him...even though his supposed connection to al-qaeda has been hyped up to all hell by the media, so i guess i don't exactly blame people who've come to think he's pure evil.. But the fact remains, there was never enough evidence to formally charge him with a crime, only assumptions and suspicions. So since when does the president have the authority to assassinate U.S. citizen suspects of a crime without due process? Thats very disturbing, and i think Ron Paul has got to be one of the only few people left in DC with enough integrity to speak out on this.

The Problem was HOW it was Done

I have no problem with the killing of this terrorist. BUT the President CAN NOT have the Power to KILL an American without getting it cleard by some branch of the Goverment. Maybe the Senate. I was watching NBC, and I was sickend that nobody talked about how the President simply has this new power to KILL SOMEBODY WITH THE WAVE OF THE HAND!

There is always hope to reform a Goverment if there is a honest media that explains these thing to the citizens. But since theres not, it makes our jobs even harder.

I'M READY TO FIGHT! GET THE WORD OUT! RON PAUL 2012!

Was this confirmed?

Is this an OBL thing where no body surfaces?

"First they came for the

"First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."

......Martin Niemöller

You can change this to reflect what's happening today.

However, as long as we have Ron Paul, there will be someone to speak out for all of us.

It's too bad most Americans can't see beyond their hatred. of others guilty or not.

Due Process was denied this American. Something every American should be afraid of. Because if it's denied for one, it could be denied for all.

I'm Just A Humble Carpenter and They Already Came For Me

The Oracle

Yeah but.

YOU!! You don't understand!!
They're trying to kill all of us!!!
They don't want us to be "free"!! they want us to become Islamic!!

I nearly got into a fight at work over this yesterday.
This is the response I get from most co workers. Most are Obama supporters who cried out to give trials to GTIMO detainees who were not citizens.

Devil's advocate?

I've got to hope that you're playing devil's advocate, because they clearly don't attack us because we're free. That's ludicrous. How long has Islam been around? How long as the US been around? But in all of our coexistent history we oddly haven't been 'attacked because we are free' until we occupied their lands.

Part 1 of 4.

I opened my comment

with the responses I got at work.
I have RP stickers on my truck and it brought up a political discussion in which I really got that response.
Along with comments about we should "go in there and take the oil."

We are a huge minority on this.
Many people only invoke the constitution when it suits their argument.
When they're told this fact they get offended and pull back even harder.

Sounds good

I had to hope that's what you were doing. :)

the bill of rights is a statement about how the government works

it is a published code of working ethics.

it doesnt matter whether they were citizens or not

of course the government has a long history of abuses.

What's The Big Deal

The FBI murdered Fred Hampton in 1969 and others since then.

How is it less wrong in principle?

I'm not familiar with Fred Hampton, and I may look it up now, but I'm guessing you're trying to say something like 'as long government murdered someone and got away with it before why is it wrong to continue doing it?'

If that's so, how it a precedent of wrong less wrong over time? How can that ever be a mentality of people who understand justice.

Because of his message alone.A message can be a very powerful thing for sure.

911 Commission Supports Ron Paul's Foreign Policy Position!

"Cutting the Fuse" by Robert Pape:

Praise For Cutting the Fuse…

“Pape and Feldman are the world’s experts on suicide terrorism. In this carefully researched yet highly readable book, the authors lay bare the causes of suicide terrorism and demonstrate that our current military strategy serves only to breed a new generation of terrorists. This book is a must-read for anyone who cares about America’s role in the world.”—Steven D. Levitt, author of Freakonomics

-Steven D. Levitt

“Robert Pape and Ken Feldman mine a unique library of data to arrive at a radical diagnosis of what motivates suicide terrorists. I think you''ll find it persuasive; I am convinced.”—Thomas C. Schelling, Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

-Thomas C. Schelling

“Pape and Feldman offer a powerful analysis of the factors underlying the rise in suicide terrorism in recent years and bring clarity to a complex and challenging subject. I commend this book to both scholars and policy makers with a serious interest in U.S. national security policy.”—Lee H. Hamilton, Co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission

-Lee H. Hamilton

“In this impressively researched book the authors question our conceived wisdom about the motivation of suicide bombers. If they are correct (and I suspect they are) it calls for a total reexamination of U.S. military strategy. Cutting the Fuse should be required reading for policy makers.”—Thomas Kean, Co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission

-Thomas Kean

One of The Huffington Post''s Best Social and Political Awareness Books of 2010:
"In this most welcome contribution to a growing body of literature, Pape and Feldman serve up a novel, compelling analysis of the root causes of suicide terrorism. The authors challenge the assumption that Islamic fundamentalism generates the peculiar phenomenon of suicide terrorism, suggesting instead that military occupation is the proximate cause. The book picks up where coauthor Pape left off in his previous, groundbreaking work, Dying to Win and is most remarkable for its thorough research and extensive scholarship."--Choice

Question

What is the difference between what happened to this terrorist and what has happened to others throughout our country's history whenever a "WANTED! Dead Or Alive" poster was circulated to help bring someone to justice?
