States moving dates = Sooner deadlinesSubmitted by A_G1RL on Fri, 09/30/2011 - 19:51
I read this article and an immediate concern came to me. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/30/florida-hold...
Here's what this means for us.... earlier primaries equal earlier deadlines for residency and registration to the Republican party in order to participate in the primary elections. Young people, individuals registered as Independant or with the Libertarian party, Blue Republicans, and others that hadnt voted before but now all know about President Paul and would like to support him could be negated before they even get into the door with this tactic.
Oh I am just absolutely sure that the current GOP would be giggly at the thought of only being able to determine the nomination of this general election with only the input of a vastly more 'traditional' list of voters. The increase of support from ALL Americans across the board would be quelled in a simple step of moving some dates around. What a cheaper way to keep him out than say television ads or media manipulation.
This is a very real threat. What should we do? Well, we need to really PUSH the idea of registering NOW to secure the opportunity to vote in the primaries. And yes, I know this is a pain in the rear, but the most advantageous way that I see this being done is through State by State information. All 50 states, what are the deadlines, push that info locally as hard as we can.
Don't let them try to shut us up so easily and quietly.
