Ron Educates Hostile Audience in NH

Apparently Ron was met with a slightly hostile audience in NH on Friday where he had to defend his views in a town-hall setting. It seems that Ron did a good job defending himself, but shows that we still have a lot of work to do.

Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy View Attacked

“If we bring all the troops home some people think the terrorists will say, ‘America isn’t so bad after all and we are not going to try to kill civilians anyone,’” one woman said. “Anyone who thinks that is off his rocker.”

Paul paused, took a few steps back, and said that his view was that of the 9/11 commission whose task it was to investigate the causes of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

“All empires end and we are an Empire,” he told her.

"You Can Lead A Man To Water but you can't make him think"

These brain dead citizens are going to find out sooner or later that Ron Paul was right about everything he has ever said.

Most of these dumbed down people are going to the FEMA camps.

I for one will take a bullet in the head before I submit to the Obama police state..

Take my gun if you think you can! Otherwise leave me the hell alone!

I am sure Ron converted a few...

unfortunately, we have to accecpt that you can't fix stoopid.

everything we (our government) has done so far...

has worked out just peachy, don't you agree?

we need more of the same actions taken to achieve more of these same results that we like so well, don't we?

i mean, what's the problem, after all?
nothing, right?
so, more of the same is what we need

its so simple, I don't know why you just don't drink the kool-aid and take a nap!

One guy asked...

Dr Paul which empire gave up power voluntarily. Paul should have replied would you rather give it up through involuntarily financial and economic collapse?

People in the country have been conditioned for decades to believe American exceptionalism is synonymous with American Empire.

This is what happens when a real statesman goes before the people in an unsanitized unscripted forum ... a couple neo-con lovers belch their 2 cents worth and the press takes it as nationwide gospel ... forget it and move on

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

This is the sad state of America. Any hostile crowd to Ron Paul doesn't understand his message. It is our job to explain it in a non-conformational point of view that we can. I have to assume and be proud of the fact that any hostile crowd towards RP is a troll sent there by another party or the "wizard behind the curtain".

Amen brother...

you said it.

The Libertarian Party, irrelevant since 1971.

all we can do

is cheer when we hear the message of liberty, and HISS AND BOO at anything that isn't. WE ARE THE MAJORITY however asleep some are (still).

I am a human becoming, help me to become.

Ron Paul Preaches to the Choir too much

I think these town hall meetings are good way for him to strengthen his arguments and get a pulse on where people who aren't supporters are feeling and thinking. IMO, he spends a lot of his time talking to crowds that overwhelming support him and can get away with saying anything he wants.

NH is not

the same NH that voted for Pat Buchannan.
The southern part is full of Mass transplants who voted for Romney, but are trying to escape the horrors of Deval Patrick.

Too true

I have a few relatives who got tired of all the BS in Boston/MA in general, so they moved to southern NH. Trouble is, they and about 50,000 others seem to think that the same policies that failed in MA will somehow work in NH.

It's sad, really, because I see quite a few cities in NH turning into absolute shitholes because of it. The southern half of NH has gone from "live free or die" to "gimme gimme gimme or I'll die".

A signature used to be here!

Ha..know how he feels..

..my parents are hard core NeoCons. My parents have never read the Constitution, in fact, they don't even have a copy of it in their house.

My mom thinks that being date-raped at the airport is a great idea because it makes her feel safer. My dad, loves the Patriot Act and thinks it should go farther.

My mom and dad's dream ticket would be Sean Hannity & Bill Oreilly...they have FAUX on 24/7 ...it's all they watch.

I have been defeating their arguments for years and everytime I defeat their argument they get flustered and say "I don't want to talk about politics"

So, you want to talk about frustration! I live it...and by the way, all three of my sisters and my granny are the same way. I am surrounded by NeoCon theology.

Am I alone? Anyone here feel'n me?

That is only half my friends and family

the other half thinks Chris Matthews and Katie Couric would be a good ticket. Viva la Clinton's is their moto! I feel your pain!

holy crap

A Sean Hannity & Bill Oreilly ticket?

I'd have to leave the country.

At least Hannity seems to be slowly coming our way. In his last interview with Ron Paul he said he actually agrees with him on almost all points, and his one holdout is the foreign policy. The interview was almost cordial! It's a huge improvement from how he treated Dr. Paul in the '08 election cycle anyway.

Right there with you

My husband is on board with RP, and a few friends too, but most of my friends and family are either neocons or liberals. I don't know which is worse lol

location, location, location

This was at a retirement home, need I say more?

Dollar for dollar, I wish the campaign would focus more on college campuses than these places. You're not going to undo 60+ years of government dependency and status quo in one hour.

I'm reminded-

of the part of Alice's Restraunt-
"SHRINK....I wanna kill....Kill, KILL KILL KILL!"

Quote from Concord NH meeting LOL

During a pause between questions, one elderly man blurted out, “Don’t buy a foreign car.”

“I drive a Ford,” Paul said.

The elderly man shot back, “Good, I’ll vote for you.”

I'm looking, can't find a video just articles about it.

There is no emotional ranting

that can counter the Constitutional argument that we have.
They can't win.
This "woman" in the article is typical of the neocon blowhard type. She just screams out an emotional ad-hominem that is essentially meaningless, and stupid to boot.

Ron will pulverize these idiots very nicely and calmly, and they won't even know what hit them. And before he's done, they'll agree with him too.

These neocons are like 4-year old kids on a temper tantrum. They need adults to teach them how to act.

That's the nice waty to put

That's the nice waty to put it. I've been wondering if you keep prodding them, if they'd keel over a die from too much emotionalism.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

reedr3v's picture

Was this just a warped article, or was

there no preparation for this event by local RP supporters? I would hope an educational campaign would precede his appearances, and a good turn out by committed peace and freedom people.

The second article I added

The second article I added seemed a bit more fair, but quoted the same things, so it looks like this was just a tough crowd.

This is the first time I've heard RP speak in a town hall setting like this and not convince them all to his side.

It's hard, because from the sounds of it they wanted actual policy and Ron gave them his philosophy. People don't understand that they are voting in a Philosophy.

Union, Union County, NJ

That's because...

That's because they are still under the idea that the job of the President is to "run the country". And that is a MAJOR paradigm shift for many when Ron speaks about true liberty...

They don't understand the philosophy, and will resist it

The reason to withdraw all the troops is not to make brownie points with terrorists or what have you, but to rescue ourselves from over-extension and bankruptcy. That has to be the point made to these guys.

They simply aren't going to be able to get the difference between non-intervention and isolationism. The whole liberal "blame America first" crowd has poisoned the well for being introspective on foreign policy, which is a damn shame. We should be able to talk about blowback with being called traitors and naive etc, but oh well.

What they might go for are arguments pointing to how broke we are. Our perilous financial situation has simply not sunk in with the majority of Americans yet. They are pessimistic, but they really really haven't processed it IMO There is no way we can sustain it, but somehow there seems to be a perception that there is an endless supply of special military money, separate from all other laws of money.

They are making liberal-style arguments.

You can cream them!
They always accuse you of what they are. THEY are the traitors who disregard the Constitution and flout the rule of law. They are not "patriots", they are a mob.

Keep hammering on the Constitution, and anyone who disregards it is the enemy of America. Plain and simple.
Do NOT let them bully you. Hammer them with it. Hold your ground. They are wrong, and they can't win this unless you allow them to walk all over you.

Fight!

Maybe we should start calling neocons liberals

and liberals neocons. Two sides of the same stupid Chuck E Cheese coin.

They're pretty much the same anyways...

Neocon = warmonger liberal

Liberal = welfaremonger liberal

Both groups want to put a gun to your head and force you to pay for their little pet projects. Both groups are scum!
