How would you react to Bachmann quitting?

Michele Bachmann's fundraising numbers for the past quarter could signal the beginning death throes of her campaign. We will know more after Oct. 15. The State Column carries an article that contains this line:

"The Minnesota Republican. who has spent the past month facing plummeting poll numbers, is said to be facing a shortage of cash that could force her exit from the 2012 race before the Iowa caucus in January.

To those who are tempted to sing "Hey, Ho, the witch is dead!" (and you know who you are), please restrain yourselves. Michele Bachmann has been a friend and ally of Ron Paul's in the House of Representatives. Some of her supporters probably list Dr. Paul as their second choice and may come over to him, but maybe not if the mood on Paul-supporting Web sites is too nasty and celebratory.

I would rather see Perry drop out.

She, in spite of her Patriot Act vote, is still better than Perry (gardasil) or Romney (Obama Care). She also has the potential to wake up on the Patriot Act. Don't think Perry or Romney will.

But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers

McCain has the wrong type of birds in sight: Angry Birds are the type!

The Three

We want Romney in first place, and everyone else dropped out except Dr. Paul in second. Evangelicals will be forced to vote for Paul. Because Romney is a Mormon. That is mean to say but that is the reality of the situation.

she wouldnt

drop out at least before Iowa, i think.
and when she does, I am not sure she would support Cain (he would have fizzled by then).
maybe Romney, because he would be the moderate and compromise candidate by then.
but i really wish she would support/endorse RP.

I would buy her a beer.

Honestly, she doesn't strike me as much more than a political opportunist, and I don't think she has the firmest grasp of some of the topics she speaks about-- I cringe at times when she gives a speech even when what she's saying sounds vaguely Ron-Paul-esque...

Don't get me wrong I appreciate the fact she's on board with some stuff, much more so than the vast majority of assholes out there who just name drop the constitution and rail against the FED because some god damned ad firm told them resonates with the crowd, but at the end of the day I'm all about the philosophy, not the bumper-sticker version of Paul's message and I believe she generally pays homage to the later rather than the former.

If some of her supporters come on over or she throws her weight behind Paul that's great. The more the merrier.

I wouldn't care, because I

I wouldn't care, because I don't think Bachmann was ever a serious candidate. She is campaigning more for the publicity than anything else.

I think we should be very civil to Bachmann supporters.

Not because we simply want to sway her constituency into voting for Ron Paul, but many of these people do have some semblance of respect for the constitution, or are just learning/warming up to it.

To be quite honest, in 2007 I was just getting involved in reading about the constitution and liberty, the fed, the warfare state, etc. It takes some time to let reality sink in, and the reality is much easier dealt with by denial. Many of these people would seriously appreciate Paul supporters being gracious to them and giving Bachmann her due props - including hammering down on Bernanke/Geithner about the constitutionality of the fed, as well as the 'gangster government' quotes that she has put in front of congress, and her stances on Obamacare. In due time, many of these warmongers may change their tune. I did, and it did not happen overnight or even in a few months. It took me at least a full year to start understanding the complexities of middle eastern policy, the Israeli influence problem, and how truly fascist of a government we have running this country into the ground.

A kind word would be much appreciated, as her campaign is on it's last legs. Personally, I was not at all happy when McCain won and people continually dissed Paul as a side show circus. It irritated me and made me want to vote any way other than rational.

How Dr. Paul won me over was with his sincerity, kindness and intellectual prowess on economics and liberty.

She wont win but lets make people feel Ron Paul

I agree with you 100 percent. We have a real opportunity here. First off, we must give Michelle Bachmann a horse to ride out on. By this I mean we must start campaigning for Michelle Bachmann’s endorsement for Ron Paul. Bachmann will drop out, and I believe she has political aspirations in respect to future political endeavors. She must calculate that the Republican Party is changing pretty rapidly and a future political career would consist of getting the young conservative (Ron Paul Libertarians) vote. Bachmann will drop out of this race but in whom she will place her endorsement, well that is up for grab. I would assume that Romney and Perry would definitely be out. She will calculate that Cain doesn’t have a shot in hell. We must get her on the side of Ron Paul and we should start campaigning for that right away. Obviously more subtly than saying to her supports that she can’t win. Assimilate Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul as the only two Teaparty members. Say to Bachmann supports the only two people I can support would be Teaparty members such as Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann.

Most of Bachmann's supporters...

...would switch to Cain, unfortunately. She's very pro-Israel and so are her Dispensational (as opposed to Reformed) Christian supporters. That's their number one issue and they're a very large, committed voting block in the GOP.

If Bachmann drops out, I think that would only hurt Ron Paul. So, personally, I hope and pray she stays in the race!

make that "voting bloc"

Not to make excuses, but it was very late when I wrote that :-)

True

She may have a few kind words for Dr. Paul, and they may even be sincere, but in the end, she's still the one who claimed that America would be "cursed by God if we reject (read: don't bend over for) Israel".

It'll probably be a 50/50 split between Paul and Cain...but the good news is when Cain drops out, they'll very likely come around to Dr. Paul.

A signature used to be here!

Delegitimized

When she drops out we must assimilate Ron Paul as the only Tea-party candidate left....before she drops out we must assimilate Paul and Bachmann as the only two Tea-party Candidates to whom ever we speak too. That will force her into a corner where she must support Paul or become delegitimized. She is head of the Tea-party Caucus and will be forced to support Ron Paul.

Endorsement time!

She could drop a good sized bomb on the establishment on her way out by endorsing Ron Paul. That is, if she would be willing.

I doubt

she'd endorse Ron Paul. That's be sweet, though!

Why shouldn't I be able to celebrate?

It isn't because she is so terrible, it is very much about her splitting the "constitutional conservative" vote. This isn't rocket science. If she hadn't entered into the race it's completely possible that Ron Paul would have won the Iowa Straw Poll in a landslide and he would now be the one to beat in the Iowa caucuses.
If Bachmann supporters can't understand this then they don't want to.

Go to :18

She talks about how she HIGHLY values Ron Paul and how she has learned a lot from him from their monetary policy meetings Ron holds in Congress on Thursdays

then

She calls him awesome :)

disregard this message if someone else has highlighted this

Kind Words

Yet she still has quite a bit of repenting to do ie. Patriot Act

donvino

yes, unfortunately there are

yes, unfortunately there are a few things we question her on. That can always change. But in terms of monetary policy and the Federal Reserve, its nice to have somebody in his corner.

I would celebrate

...and have a pig roast :D

donvino

I would react just fine if...

...she threw her support to Ron Paul.

I could possibly see it happening.

We should be nice to her because she has hosted Ron Paul at town hall meetings during his 2008 campaign.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

There is no question

that she looks up to Ron Paul. There have been a number of conferences that the two have held together.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOjXUp0MCJU&feature=results_m...

She knows that he is the most knowledgeable statesman we have.

I don't think she'd have much of a choice...

"We need to defend liberty.. and liberty!" - RP

Bachmann used to (maybe still

Bachmann used to (maybe still does) regularly attend Ron Paul's luncheons where he helped to educate members of Congress on issues of Liberty, the Constitution, etc.

In some ways it does seem that Dr. Paul had a significant impact on Bachmann.

If she does exit the race I sure hope she seriously considers giving Ron Paul her endorsement. We all know that he's the only one who really deserves it.

...

I forgot she was in the race

Oops! Sorry, that's kinda mean.

Curious

If she quits and endorses someone, I don't see how she can not endorse Ron Paul. She tries to claim the mantle of constitutional conservative and she does echo Ron Paul on 80% of the issues. There's no way she could endorse Perry or Romney without ruining what's left of her reputation. I only wish she would drop out before Iowa, but that's not going to happen. She'll probably drop after South Carolina or Florida. Unfortunately, that might be too late to help us.

a.o.k.

.

I'd tell her

To go back to Congress and start doing everything that Ron Paul does and says. Then Maybe try again in "16"

If she joins our cause

I will befriend her. If she supports the establishment...I will work to defeat her. I have no personal feelings about her because it is not personal...either she is with freedom or she's against it.

Amen Brother

It's like the man said "If your lukewarm I'll spit you out"
There is no grey area here, in or out your choice..

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

With friends like Bachmann,

With friends like Bachmann, who needs enemas? Anyone who voted for the Nazi Patriot Act is no friend of liberty.

is this a pun?

Either way, hilarious!
