A strategy to defeat Ron Paul? Early primaries and late entries.Submitted by fiodax on Tue, 10/04/2011 - 00:15
Does anyone else feel like there is a strategy working against Ron Paul here? The primarys are being rescheduled, some are saying that there will be primaries as early as December, with other key states following shortly after in early January.
Add this to the delayed announcement of Christie, Palin, or whoever else may be waiting in the wings.
The strategy I see working here is to wait until the last moment to announce the next entry into the race, use the surge in the polls that the new candidate will initially receive and ride that wave into one of the new rescheduled early primaries. I think this is a direct attack against Ron Paul, because it doesn't make any sense to do this for any other reason that I can come up with.
Ron Paul's support is solid and it is growing steadily. A good way to kill this inertia would be to rack up a couple big primary wins to an establishment candidate. Then the news could be reported that this new entry was "what everyone was waiting for, look at his/her primary wins in New Hamshire and Florida, etc", and at that point Ron Paul could continue to be ignored and the GOP candidate would effectively be chosen.
Paranoia? If not, what's the game plan?
