A strategy to defeat Ron Paul? Early primaries and late entries.

Does anyone else feel like there is a strategy working against Ron Paul here? The primarys are being rescheduled, some are saying that there will be primaries as early as December, with other key states following shortly after in early January.

Add this to the delayed announcement of Christie, Palin, or whoever else may be waiting in the wings.

The strategy I see working here is to wait until the last moment to announce the next entry into the race, use the surge in the polls that the new candidate will initially receive and ride that wave into one of the new rescheduled early primaries. I think this is a direct attack against Ron Paul, because it doesn't make any sense to do this for any other reason that I can come up with.

Ron Paul's support is solid and it is growing steadily. A good way to kill this inertia would be to rack up a couple big primary wins to an establishment candidate. Then the news could be reported that this new entry was "what everyone was waiting for, look at his/her primary wins in New Hamshire and Florida, etc", and at that point Ron Paul could continue to be ignored and the GOP candidate would effectively be chosen.

Paranoia? If not, what's the game plan?

Naw, that's just the GOP squirming.

They thought they could squash Ron Paul in the media, and they've done their best, but Paul keeps on chuggin with truth and logic on his side. People are seeing the media biases, thanks to Jon Stewart's call out. Then the GOP figured they would entertain everybody and their brother N law to come in and help fight Ron Paul. Maybe someone would catch fire, especially with the media's help. That's what we're seeing with Cain. But, Cain's monologue of 999 is looking pretty slim. At at the GOP dismay, look how easily Ron Paul dismisses 999 in his interviews. Dang that Ron Paul! The GOP just can't seem to come up with anything to stop him. Not Romney (a Mormon? Really?) Perry? Another Cockeyed Cowboy from Texas? Really? And Cain? Seems like his always chewing something in his mouth like sunflower seeds or something. No, Ron Paul's senior statesmanship is shinning through. Keep the money coming in for him and I believe he can pull this off.

Absolutely!

I've thought this for some time as, I'm sure, you have, too.

Here's the monkey wrench in their plan.

The Republican National Convention.

With the exception of Dr. Paul's steady rise, no other clear candidate can possibly emerge between now and that time. It is impossible, even with the media corruption and selling of Cain. The "people" ain't buying that load of pepperoni.

Dr. Paul, with his moneybombs, will STEAM ROLL into a convention with riots on the streets outside that will make Chicago 1968 look like a stroll in the park!

You think OWS is bad? Standby.

We, the people will DEMAND that Dr. Paul be our representative or we will own that city and, by proxy, this Nation.

Fear not, my fellow patriots, the Nation will soon belong to the people again.

STEAMROLLER!

Small enhancement:

"Dr. Paul, with his DELEGATES, will STEAM ROLL into a convention ..."

DELEGATES DELEGATES DELEGATES. Each of us must work so we can each become a delegate. This is all that matters at the national convention.

I thought the same thing- the paranoia isn't yours, it' the esta

The establishment is in total panic to stop the Ron Paul Revolution! It's hilarious to see CNN, even MSNBC pushing for Cain- as he falls on his own sword.
Q. How is the deadline to switch parties affected? What is the difference between a caucus and a primary?
Ron Paul suddenly gets alot of press time always right before a debate. The other candidates try to use his ideas- that's good.
You can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Your point is becoming very

Your point is becoming very believable.

I agree 100%

These are the type of games they play. Thanks for pointing out because over the years it is becoming a bit more clear how they operate and if people don't realize this it is to their detriment.

That was my thought

Which means they can't hold back another economic collapse. A collapse would help Ron Paul win.

Yes.

You got it. We have to get active with voter registration - because they are pulling out ALL the stops to derail us.

Another point....

I've been wondering about this as well and here's an additional point that stands out. Recently the South Carolina GOP announced they were moving their primary up and holding it about a month early. Here's the kicker, by doing so, they loose half of their delegates for the national GOP primary contest. If SC is a Ron Paul heavy, then that just cut his possible number in half at least for this state.

I admit, I don't know enough about the numbers, details, and delegate process, but this little tidbit really jumped out at me. What do others think?

I see your point, but I would

I see your point, but I would just caution that I don't think Occam's razor always applies to politics, well not for intermediary tactics anyway.

Occum's Razor would lead us to the simplest conclusion that people will try to win in order to achieve money and power and that they'll do things to thwart competition to those aims. Because of this motivation things could get very complicated.

I really don't think the establishment wants to give Ron Paul several more months to build momentum going into the GOP Convention. I think they want this movement irrelevant by then. It's not a staggering overnight jump that they are afraid of, it is the slow and steady accumulation of people who, once they wake up, never go back to sleep. That's the process they want to stop. IMHO.

I think

He/She's right on with his idea. This is the simplest answer. It's also the first thing I thought of when they announced it as well.

The answer to it would be to run as independent. He'd have good reason to now if that does happen the way it's laid out.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

I agree that Florida moved

I agree that Florida moved it's primary [ by instruction from the RNC] for the sole purpose of derailing Ron Paul's campaign.
Think about it.. He would have WON the Ames Straw Poll if Polenty hadn't tanked so badly in the Iowa debate, which essentially gave the 152 needed votes to Michelle Bachmann. Comming in second like he did, the media ignores him, and John Stewart blows that tactic right up in their faces, and then what happens? Ron Paul's numbers begin creaping up, the other GOP candidates are self destructing, and Ron keeps winning straw polls! His campaign is super organized, donations are comming in, he's got boots on the gound and savy volunteers who know how to win the small state of NH, Iowa and NV.
Yep, you better believe it, this is primary shifting is the knife in the gut by our own beloved GOP.

Right.

It makes perfect sense considering all that you mention and the fact that they've done everything possible to stall him.

We don't really think for a second that all of the media snubbing was just because...

Or all of the tricks they've pulled in Florida with moving straw poll voting times up and man I could go on and on.
