Moneybomb Wounded Warriors Project for dual purpose

I think we have a great opportunity to effect a great change and gain a lot of momentum and respect. The famous Wounded Warriors Project seems to me to be a well managed, good charity. Active duty military contributes more to Ron Paul than all the other candidates combined. Regardless what you think of the wars, these are by in large good people deserving of our support, especially those who are wounded and are returning home. This could be a great way to give back to those who have given so much to the campaign.

I'm pretty sure O'Reilly thinks we're "pinheads". I still hold out hope that O'Really is just a misinformed, goofy, but overall kindhearted guy. This could be a good way to get the loudest megaphone on TV to at least lay off of the attacks for a while. I can't imagine that he thinks of us as anything other than hippy pot-smoking peace-nick bums.

Imagine a money bomb to Wounded Warriors. Whenever a contribution is made, it allows you to pick someone for whom it is in honor / memory. Ron Paul is a veteran, and we can contribute for the healing of soldiers who are coming home, in honor of Ron Paul.

What do you think?

If anyone's still considering this

Maybe December 10th, 2011? It will be an ABC Presidential Debate in Des Moines, IA. Bill O'Reilly worked for ABC, and it will be happening in a state where it's important to make known Ron Paul's strong defense policies, support of the troops, and the fact that he's a veteran.

The Iowa caucus will be less than two months after that, making it a possible "launching-pad" state. And when the other candidates are all starting to dwindle down, and when it sounds like a bunch of broken records saying the same garbage day after day, this might add an emotional side to set Ron Paul apart.

And it wouldn't have to be much...just like $5 per person from a whole lot of people would go a very long way to help wounded veterans.

I'll put $5 in on Dec. 10th, 2011, to the Wounded Warriors Project. I'm going to select "In Honor Of" and I'll probably write "Dr. Ron Paul". Will anyone else?

I simply did not see this post. I just posted a suggestion for a 911 First Responder moneybomb.

Either one seems like a good thing to do, both morally and politically.

How about we just continue

to donate to Ron Paul so there won't be anymore wounded warriors. Maybe after Ron Paul gets elected we can have a money bomb for this great organization.

I would like to

and maybe that's the smarter thing to do. On the other hand, maybe taking care of those who need help now will have a bigger impact.

It's a tough call. I just don't know.

it is a tough call

but since everyone is strapped for cash we ought to just donate to Ron Paul since he would bring the troops home. Like someone said earlier that was in the military when someone thanked him for his service he said, "thank me by voting for Ron Paul", so with that the main goal ought to be getting Ron Paul into office.

I love this idea

I personally think this is a great idea that just needs to be thought out, properly planned, and well advertised. Advertise it emphasizing that Ron Paul is the only candidate who has served in the military, who gets the most donations from the military, and the only candidate who would really bring the troops home.
Can you imagine the press if we could raise a million dollars for Wounded Warriors?!? Headlines:

Ron Paul Supporters Show Support For Troops By Raising A Million Dollars For Wounded Warrior Project

We could set it for November 11th, Veterans Day. How could they spin that?!

I don't think we have a million

But a few thousand would still go a long way.

The date sounds easy to remember, 11/11/11

Well, the response has certainly been mixed enough, do you think we should contact someone "in the camp"? Maybe we should tap the shoulder of Michael Nystrom, Robert Paul, or someone who isn't technically part of the campaign and see if it's something that would work out?

O'Reilly Won't Change

I don't think this will help O'Reilly back off on the Ron Paul bashing, but I do think that raising more money for the Wounded Warriors is a good thing, no matter who it comes from. O'Reilly probably wouldn't even recognize (at least on his show) that Ron Paul Supporter's rallied up a Money Bomb for "his" charity.

Never thought O'Reilly was a good fella anyways..

Ron Paul needs tumblr!

So far I get the feeling that my idea might not be very popular because of the involvement of B.O. I think everyone's happy with giving charity for the wounded warriors, and I hope that anyone who already can donate does. I just wish we had some way to thank them back, donate in a united way, and maybe gain some positive press at the same time.

It is probably a good idea but

people are having a hard time just coming up with cash for the campaign. It might be a good idea just to help a disabled vet if you have one for a neighbor or in the family.

Agree. All the money I can

Agree. All the money I can spare now must go to the RP 2012 campaign. President Paul will not cut and run from the government's responsibility to take care of these young men and women that were sent senselessly to fight unconstitutional and inflammatory wars.

I'm in the same boat as you two

I don't think I can afford to give any more until December. I think that the RevolutionPAC moneybomb's low turnout is a sign of this. But by comparison, RevolutionPAC is trying to fill much bigger shoes. WWP is smaller and is heavily promoted by a bigger mouthpiece.

Bill O'Reilly often does contribution matching for things like this, too. If we can raise only a couple thousand in $5 and $10 amounts, and it's clearly donations from the heart, he might feel that this is a good opportunity to rally the Ron Paul community.

I don't really know how this would turn out, but I think if done correctly it could go a long way toward establishing our legitimacy as well as our compassion and patriotism.
