Must Read! The truth behind the Occupy movement.Submitted by onesquarelight on Thu, 10/06/2011 - 00:12
I posted this as a comment on another thread but I think it deserves it's own. Do you want to know the truth about who is behind the Occupy movement? Read this and watch the videos.
On July 13,2011 Adbusters posted a call to all redeemers, rebels and radicals out there to flood lower Manhattan and occupy wall street.
Here is the original post:
This call to action was sponsored by a group of political hackers that call themselves "Anonymous".
A recent post on the occupywallst.org site lays out what I believe are the true origins of the movement. If you want to understand why all those people went to Manhattan 19 days ago, check this out.
I believe this was posted by someone with inside knowledge and understanding of what/who is behind this movement.
Note: the link to the Anonymous Tumblr page that was posted earlier (http://anoncentral.tumblr.com/) in the comments is most likely not the official group. That site is promoting an October 10th cyber attack on the nyse.com website.
An anonymous message was released by Anonymous at pastebin explaining:
"Citizens of the world
We are Anonymous! Recently something very disturbing has come to our attention. You must take all notices and information claiming to be 'Anonymous' with a grain of salt. Consider EVERYTHING.
Operation Invade Wall Street is bullshit! It is a fake planted operation by law enforcement and cyber crime agencies in order to get you to undermine the Occupy Wall Street movement. It proposes you use depreciated tools that have known flaws such as LOIC.
Anonymous would never tell you to use LOIC - Not after the arrests and failures of Operation Payback.
Anonymous wouldn't attack NYSE on a HOLIDAY - It is debatable if Anonymous would ever even attack NYSE.
Be wary friends!
We are Anonymous
We are Legion
We do not Forgive
We do not Forget
Be wary of imitations!"
The entire occupywallst.org website is a custom, complex web application written by a guy with the name "Jart". He describes the application as "Software for organizing resistance". The entire application is open source and can be downloaded by anyone at github: https://github.com/jart/occupywallst
Jart is affiliated with a website called Lobster Technologies. http://lobstertech.com/
His email is firstname.lastname@example.org (from his public github profile)
Some of the other sites I've seen are using Wordpress, a free blogging platform that can be set up in a matter of minutes.
