*If we built a wall on the Mexican Border

Hey guys,

I believe the ONLY way to solve the illegal immigration problem is to take away the incentive as the good doctor has suggested.

I am currently writing a lengthy hit piece on herman cain and could use some imaginative input.

Playing devils advocate. Lets imagine that we built a huge wall on the Mexican border.

1. How would it affect our relations, trade and travel

2. Would it effectively stop illegal immigrants?

3. Do you think we'd see "terrorist" efforts from mexico; war?

Ideas?

North American Perimeter

It sure would greatly reduce that perimeter if the fence was built ;)

Like Vinny Fox said, America has to come down to bring Mexico up. wtf?

I can see why there are notions of the Monroe Doctrine still out there. This helped America become a great country.

I think the US is just some kind of social pressure valve to keep Mexico from imploding. Heck, Clinton bailed them out to cover the butts of investors.

I think Mexico is a lost cause. The country is rotting and hence so are many of their people. Though I am not totally sold on the fence idea there definitely has to be an increased presence there. I have been to Laredo and thank goodness it was during the day lol

ps. the property owners along the border must be defended and protected along with the public land. I do not know how those people living there are coping. They are the forgotten heroes imo.

chairman cain

Ask Cain supporters, how do they know that 9-9-9 will not evolve into 20-20-20, or worse.
Ask them to explain the purpose of the constitutional federal reserve. Why do we want to have fiat "money" with debt attached to every new dollar ?? Point out the constitution requires that congress "coin money". Quote Jefferson's warnings of the dangers of central banks.

nr

Better Yet -

Ask them what Cain's positions are on any topic.

If they know it, they will hear themselves say it and realize how dumb it really sounds - for example on foreign policy: "Cain's stance is that if you mess with Israel you mess with us!" or "He said he won't tell us until he actually becomes president".

chairman cain

It looks to me that the popularity of Cain is real. Don't underestimate the power of the media over people's thinking. His involvement with the fed, and his new tax scheme make me think he is the worst of all the republican candidates. That's saying a lot, considering what a monster Perry is. We got Chairman Cain representing the Fed. Bachman representing the IRS. Perry representing forced vaccinations and al gore. We have Flipper Romney representing Obamacare. Santorum representing the Bush war and intervention agenda. What a creepy bunch of statist we have. We MUST find a way to get the win for Dr. Paul !!

nr

True

We need to look at his plan in practical terms and show how it would play out for the average person.

At first glance 9% doesn't sound that bad to his supporters but if he did away with the tax code and that was a strict tax meaning no other taxes it would mean that the poor, really poor would be taxed further than they are now.

As it stands if you make below a certain amount, you pay little to no income taxes. Factor in that and the additional taxes through a consumption tax and you have a major tax on the poor. More of the money once again flowing from the poor and broadening the gap between them and the rich.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

They will probably build doors into the wall.

Besides, when they finish building the wall all the way around Texas, we can throw a roof on top and start to air-condition. That is the real secret plan.

At first

that sounded kinda cool but I like my room cold and I know damn well I'd probably get shot the first time I decided to drive to DC to turn the thermostat down.

No deal.

Yeah, with 90 days at or over 100 egrees in Texas we need AC.

That is 90 days as of October 1st, but we never know what the weather will do down here in Texas.

Without doors there could be no bribes.

And how many bricks would it

And how many bricks would it take to build a wall high enough to keep airliners out?

"How would it affect our relations, trade and travel"

As far as travel; it, like so many other things, would just be more of a hassle for law-abiding citizens in both countries. Think the checkpoints are bad now?

"Would it effectively stop illegal immigrants?"

Unless the wall went dozens of feet underground and was swarming with soldiers, it wouldn't be the least bit effective. Of course, if soldiers were there...refer to point one.

"Do you think we'd see "terrorist" efforts from mexico; war?"

Of course! No doubt sponsored by the same "terrorists" who wanted the wall built in the first place.

A signature used to be here!

An Iron Curtain

The Soviet Union did this. Was it to keep enemies out or the keep prisoners in?

President Reagan famously said, "Tear down this wall." speaking of the Iron Curtain.

In America it's the paper curtain.

Building walls is not a good idea

it would cost a lot and not stop anything (where there's a will there is a way around anything, even walls), taking away the incentives will save money and promote stability.

Legalize drugs to stop the blood shed and help the people build up their communities so they don't have to live in fear.

Either enforce the laws currently on the books or do away with laws so everybody is on the same page.

"We can see with our eyes, hear with our ears and feel with our touch, but we understand with our hearts."

Let me see

1. How would it affect our relations, trade and travel

Possibly but as long as slop is in the trough, pigs will chow down. Not likely then.

2. Would it effectively stop illegal immigrants?

Not in the slightest. I'd like to say that I find it extremely odd that we'd campaign during the Reagan admin to get Gorbachev to tear his wall down but we want to build one to. Isn't that move a bit isolationist? Hell I don't know.. Just throwing things out there.

3. Do you think we'd see "terrorist" efforts from mexico; war?

That may be stretching it to imagine.

isolationist! great idea

isolationist! great idea

Then our only escape route will be through Canada

They are planning a wall or fence on the Canadian border, also. We better get out while we still have time.
