Statistically Challenged

I worked in the movie industry for 20 years.

Every year, movies "break box office records" due to inflation.

Works out great for headline writers.

$100 is a drop in the bucket even if it is the "biggest drop in 28 years." The price of gold is sufficiently higher, I'll bet that it is not the biggest drop in percentage.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

And we must thank Big Brother

for raising the chocolate ration.

Which channel was this on? Was it Onion? Is this from a science fiction movie? ~boggle~

My guess as to how this happened: Some of her nerdy coworkers where having a little fun with the airhead, spinning this yarn about how some analysts and investors were concerned about the fact gold wasn't backed by anything, unlike the US dollar, then forgot to tell her they were just kidding before she went on the air. John Fund at WSJ once told how he and others pulled a similar thing with a clueless, hair-sprayed Channel 3 Sacramento news guy on the occasion of John Lennon's death, pointing out his relationship to the Lennon Sisters (musical group) and Soviet leader Nikolai Lenin. They forgot to tell him too, with disastrous results.

I thought Gold didn't need to be backed by anything because

it doesn't lose it's value. It never rusts or corrodes. Unlike what the reporter states that it needs to be backed by the dollar!! That is stupid then she says the dollar is backed by it's government. While a government can fail and probably will fail without Ron Paul to fix it. How can we believe that the dollar will hold it's value when we see it falling already! I hope she does a little reading on why the constitution states that money should be made in gold or silver.
