Ron Paul Wins Values Voters poll, the media ignores him & his threat

Today Ron Paul won the VV straw poll by 37% and as usual the media ignored his win and tried to marginalize his support. Some even suggested he "fixed" the ballot. Of course all of this is nonsense and this article explains the situation and cuts through the media bias.

"Ron Paul Wins Values Voter Straw Poll: In a huge upset Ron Paul won the straw poll today with 37% of the vote, Herman Cain came in a distant second at 23%. Of course the mainstream media ignored the importance of his win and basically said "Paul won because he had more supporters there but what's really important is the fact that Cain came in second." In reality all that matters is having more support, this is a race for president and votes count.

... The opinion makers have been shocked by the very public failure of their "anointed ones" like Bachmann and Perry.
...Ron Paul on the other hand has remained steady in his support and growth and with wins like the California straw poll and the Values Voters straw poll every indicator says he will continue to rise.
...Here is proof that Ron Paul's message of freedom, prosperity and limited government is both mainstream and Christian:..."

We still have a lot of work to do!

You guys have to remember, we won most of the straw polls and online polls in 08.

We need to make the media attack him

not ignore him. We need to make the media show their true colors and who they work for. How do we do that? Make the tyrants act like tyrants and liars where they end up exposing themselves so that even the dead will wake up to the truth.

Did anyone notice yet that

Did anyone notice yet that Ron Paul has won the MOST polls? It is such a scream to me when they say he wins because he has so many supporters..LOL I mean..how else DO you win? This is getting funny instead of aggravating...I wonder if they get all their stories ready the night before and have all of the slights prepared in the likely event that Ron wins.

Not bad for a guy who "can't win".

Value Voters Summit - WIN
N.H. Straw Poll - WIN
Conservative PAC - WIN
GOP Leader Conf. - WIN
California GOP - WIN
Iowa - 2nd by 1%
Georgia - 2nd by 1%
Intrade - BEATS Obama
Harris - BEATS Obama

Media just churn out PR, who makes PR for Ron Paul?

The media ignore Ron Paul because apparently nobody writes finished PR articles for him and faxes/emails it to the media.

That is what the other candidates do.

I have not the ability but those who are able should write finished articles and send them to the media as a "press release".

Paul and Cain Win Values Voter Straw Poll

TG: WHAT?! "Paul and Cain" win when there's a 14% spread, yet when there's a 0.9% spread between Bachmann & Paul, it's "Bachmann Wins, Pawlenty (51% back) gets third"? How much more obvious can the media make their anti-Paul BIAS? If Cain beat Paul by 14 points, would the headline read, "Cain and Paul Win Values Voters Straw Poll"?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/cain-comes-in-2nd-to-...

Cain comes in 2nd to Paul in straw poll of social conservatives; Santorum places 3rd

TG: Paul wins, but Cain still gets top billing in the headline.

Values Voter straw poll organizers suggest a fix in Ron Paul's win

TG: Ron Paul's supporters voted for ... RON PAUL - and that means the election must have been fixed! The evidence? Many Ron Paul supporters were there on Saturday but not on Friday. Um, maybe Ron Paul's supporters had to WORK on Friday?

Herman Cain Rising- Republican Presidential Primary Race (POLL)

***Update-The Ron Paulanists have once again tried to skew a poll by bombarding it with votes for their candidate.

TG: Oh my! Too many people are VOTING for RON PAUL, so we have to disqualify 3/4 of his votes so we can claim Cain really won! These Cain people are so dirty they should join the Obama administration. The Mafia would reject them on moral grounds.

Values Voter straw poll organizers suggest a fix in Ron Paul's..

This is a C(BS) News article indeed...slanderous claims to top it all.

Ron Paul on the other hand

Ron Paul on the other hand has remained steady in his support and growth and with wins like the California straw poll and the Values Voters straw poll every indicator says he will continue to rise.

And yet he's been stuck somewhere between 8-13% nationally for how many months? There's no question that his support is intense and has been growing, but that is not our problem here. Our chief obstacle to gaining mainstream credibility is not the intensity of his current support. That is beyond question. Nor is it that his support isn't growing.

But how fast can it grow before the first primaries of the season? Ah, see that's a different question. With the primary season being accelerated in 2008, we saw how this hurt Paul's campaign.

Back then, if you recall, Paul wasn't given ANY credibility by the major media whatsoever. Now, he has some capital, but every scrap he's gotten he's had to fight to keep. I won't go over the reasons for that, as there are people here who will swear up and down a thousand times that it's an Illuminati conspiracy no matter what proof is offered against that, but I will say that we can't dwell on the media's treatment of Paul any longer.

Things are about to heat up in the next few months, with Iowa's caucuses poised to fall right after New Years. And from there on out, if Paul is not at least third nationally, then we are in big trouble.

Now, how to expand Paul's support for that? I think at least a second place showing in IA and no worse than 4th in NH will help see Paul through to the next round. FL and SC I frankly don't see any way of him placing in the top 3, unless he really knocks one out of the park. At this point, FL and SC are the most important bellweathers regarding the campaign's success that we have.

The main problem I see with Paul is that there is nothing new that the media can report on him about that their audience would want to hear. A lot of people already know where Paul stands on the issues, so it isn't so much his platform that's keeping people away but his rhetoric and image... and his supporters.

At this point, there isn't anything Paul could do to really alienate his support with the 18-30 demographic unless he were to suddenly violate his 30-year record. Yet part of the reason I think Paul has stumbled in courting women and the over 45's is not because of his message (at least, on everything but foreign policy) but of his supporters.

So for the things that Paul's campaign directly controls, we can only hope to apply pressure and see that they continue to refine his image and branding and cross our fingers that it works. But what Paul's campaign can't control is his supporters.

And we have only just begun to see his "intense" support being vilified by the party establishment. So I suggest to anyone who really wants to make a difference in Ron Paul's campaign: it's not so much what you do to spread the word about him, it's what you don't do.

Far be it from me to tell people here to contain their enthusiasm for the man and his message. But feeding the MSM narrative that we are mindless zombies is not going to help get any positive attention for his campaign. It may sound cynical to a majority of people here, but it's true.

Never forget:

To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable.

It is all PR spin

The mass media just repeat and copy what is given to them by PR companies. Those PR companies write printable articles and email or fax them to the news wires.

We should do the same.

I would say, stop thinking

I would say, stop thinking and go out and get more supporters. He can win the Presidency, you Lackey! His support is growing exponentially. When it hits 15% the rest are TOAST.

You see, this is a textbook example of what's wrong with us...

This is exactly the problem this movement has. When people like yourself call people like me "lackeys" for actually trying to inject some analysis into the situation, you also use shallow emotional appeals and other illogical maneuvers to make your point.

You take any kind of self-reflection as unwarranted criticism, and at your best, you say "stop over-analyzing things". At your worst, you say "get out of here, you disinfo agent" or some other paranoid BS like that.

For the record, I actually go into hostile territory daily. My workplace is full of liberal sympathizers, and I have canvassed for Ron Paul around here before. But you know what? I actually realize going in that my efforts to immediately convert them will already be futile, so I at least know when and how to re-focus my rhetoric and adjust my goals.

That is precisely what we should be doing right now. And if you think for one minute that all this talk will just disappear when he reaches 15% -- that all our problems will be solved and his momentum will just explode from there -- then that kind of complacency is not going to see us through to the end.

Keeping Paul and his campaign in this will take constant reflection at every point, even if sometimes you don't want to hear it. This doesn't mean we need be cynical about all his progress. This isn't a pessimistic outlook. If it was, none of us would be here.

So stop treating it as if it were.

Never forget:

To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable.

Yeah! At 15% it becomes cool

Yeah! At 15% it becomes cool and trendy to support RP. It will get to the point that only nerds can't see the coolness of supporting Ron Paul. I can't wait for that to happen!
