The most shocking thing was, the crowd ate it up!

Outstanding Speech!

Great speech. This guy really nailed it perfectly.

And may I say that it is not shocking that the crowd liked it.

This movement is not a party-based thing. It is about the people (that's all of us) spotlighting the Wall-Street criminals that got away with all the looting .vs. the 99% of the population that have suffered as a result. They are attacking corrupt Banking Elites that screwed-up the whole economy in 2008. They are also against the Wars, the trade policies, the Drug Wars, and the erosion of our liberties.

And as the speaker pointed out, the progressive-left and the libertarian-end-the-fed folks have all these big, fundamental core issues in common with each other.

We can all be united around this cause.

This is the most promising thing since the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s -- because it forces the corrupt U.S. News Media out-of-its-narrow-playbook, and makes them address the real economic issues.

I was hoping that Ron Paul

supporters would not be tied in with this crowd because of the way the media is reporting urinating, defacating, sex., etc in public and leaving trash everywhere, and also interviewing people who have no idea why they are there. The tea party rallies did not include all this. Am I the only one feeling this way??

Ron Paul supporters

get infiltrated all the time. We set up a rally/event/protest and the Establishment sends THEIR hired goons to come infiltrate the movement, act wierd/drunk etc in order to discredit the rest of the people in the movement or else they just dilute the movement with a bunch of status quo Politickers (Tea Party). Type "astroturf" into Google or Wikipedia and you'll soon understand how the Tea Party got hijacked. I was one of the ones to help organize people for it during the last campaign and I have long since walked away from the TP in order to focus on new ventures without the infiltrators.

Ron Paul will win it all!!

I don't have MSM, so I don't know about any of this--

makes *you* wonder if these are people trying to destroy the movement; it's all very confusing. I did not 'see' anything from the Tea Party; I can't compare it to anything; my only source of news is the DP and the internet, and . . . I refuse to read/see the 'headlines'; I will watch youtubes and read journalistic reports only--

this is so very confusing; I've never seen anything this divisive on DP, but I've only been here two years, to be fair--

amen brother

this guy gets it

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

The Occupy Movement includes Ron Paul supporters, has

from the very beginning. It is open to all Americans. The NeoCons are desperately trying to label the Occupy Movement "left-wing" to divide our population. They made sure to label the Tea Party "right-wing" to drive out Independents and Democrats. It worked and they destroyed the Tea Party. I have been to Occupy Chicago several times and talked with a variety of people. We need to be there and help the discussion. It will not be easy, but it IS necessary. This Revolution has started, don't sit on the bench and let other Americans take the risk. That is lame.

Ron Paul on Occupy Wall Street:
“But I think that the majority of them think government is the problem and taxes are too high and they know that the Federal Reserve plays a role in this, which, of course, is something I agree with.”

OWS is just the modern day

OWS is just the modern day version of the two minutes of hate.

That guy did some real good teaching.

Bravo to his message.

But most of the Occupy movement has no idea what or who they're fighting.

Many of them advocate communism or socialism.

This was one guy who had it right however.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Educated Ron Paul supporters are needed at Occupy.

The majority of people have simply had enough of the corruption and need some direction.

Ron Paul on Occupy Wall Street:
“But I think that the majority of them think government is the problem and taxes are too high and they know that the Federal Reserve plays a role in this, which, of course, is something I agree with.”

Locally, OWS = HCEC

I say this based on my experience of attending the local OWS chapter here, but despite their best intentions, they're unwittingly becoming the "Herman Cain Election Committee" (HCEC) since all they do is prop up and reinforce the status quo b.s.

There are some in there interested about the Fed, but the majority seem hung up on things that have nothing to do with unemployment and student loans which is what drew my interest in attending.

I think I'm going to organize with all the other RPers in my area and launch an "Occupy The Fed" (OTF) chapter and post up nearby OWS.

That way we have proximity for educating people, but can clearly separate our views from a lot of the nonsense in OWS.

OTF stands for "Auditing the Fed and Sound Money through Currency Competition." The local OWS chapter here can't even decide how to define "message"

I find the remark, "The most shocking thing was, the crowd ate it up!" to be silly and rather offensive. Why should people gathered to discuss and try to remedy the destruction of the Constitution and the American tradition not happily hear the intelligent observations of this young man? Are you supporting the left-wing contention that OWS is a left-wing movement? If so, you are helping to destroy that hopeful and worthy effort.

Dramatic irony: When the audience knows a character is making a mistake, because the audience has more information than the character.

If you read the comment written by emr1028 here: http://www.dailypaul.com/182230/another-ron-paul-supporter-r..., you'd find that he admits to being the fellow in the video. You are unknowingly belittling the same young man's intelligent observations you simultaneously are praising.

Chicago had some 7 groups of "protesters"...

...Merge last night, and march down Michigan avenue...groups now latching on to OWS...

Our family drove by them eastbound at Jackson near Clark, after picking up our daughters from the Megabus...

They were sitting on the ground; which group I have no idea...quiet and dormant they sat holding signs...

I opened my driver's side window and YELLED "Ron Paul for President" as we drove by at 3 MPH through an intersection...they ROARED...I yelled it again louder, as they had stretched half a city block, and they ROARED!!!

Either they agreed with me, or, were happy to get some attention...many working people in these cities, the majority of working people are disgusted with the "professionally unemployed" who get to sit around and complain all day for the media...

Look! Ron Paul is the(beginning of) THE ANSWER...all we can do is plant that seed, like these people are doing in the video...the other groups latching on are doing so to drown out our message...KEEP IT UP!!!

aw . . .

Very good linking

Very good linking common goals of progressives and libertarians, Kucinich and Paul, privatized profits and socialized losses = corporatism. Nice job young man.

I still can't get into the repeating thing. Not for me, but the young people seem to dig it.

that acts as their

PA system - i think they call it the microphone ... so others farther away can hear. They don't use mega phones or mics evidently - so they took on this way to amplify each speaker. (is the wiggly finger thing - applause?) that is what always tripped me out ... great to hear End the War and End the Fed coming into this movement. It needs to be way more vocal and present and in the forefront of this protest.

No amplification allowed in NYC

without a permit, unless you are the NYPD.

This explains why they repeat each other and why drums and musical instruments are common.

I understand why they do it.

I understand why they do it. It's just not worth it to me. I refuse to reflexively repeat the words of another... and did I mention IT'S CREEPY!

I believe they are told not to use megaphones

I don't dig the repeating either but if they can't use PA's of any kind (That benefits the status quo) it's an answer to a problem.

You have to co-opt this movement. Now.

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them. -Galileo Galilei

This movement is like a full but driverless bus speeding

down the highway.

SOMEBODY has to take the wheel and drive the thing. And if not us then someone who wants it to do something we don't.

Too many people on this site seem to be of the feeling "Hey, I don't like some of the people on the bus. They aren't "our" type. Therefore I'm just going to sit in my seat and let the bus crash or go wherever somebody else drives it."

I compliment the guy who stood up in the video and said some great things.

What is the end result?

I agree - generating a lot of energy from the release of pent-up frustration.

Without concentration, energy eventually dissipates.

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

Its wishful thinking to get the idea that this will go away.

People are frustrated with a lot of things.

I am hearing that healthcare is now a big issue at these events - we have the worlds only exclsuively profit based system of dispensing healthcare and therefre them ost expensive system in the world.

In France they pay half as much per populace and have a much higher ranking. This is ONE area where things have got to change. We simply cannot go on this way.

I am not advocating Socialized Medicine here of course - but regulations have to change to keep prices from being more equitable.

The problems these people are angry about are real even if they haven't defined them well yet. And this will not run out of gas.

You can talk about sound

You can talk about sound money without proselytizing your economic faith. A lot of Occupy people have identified the obvious effects of the problem. They're more than willing to listen to possible root causes as long as they're not being preached to or having their ideas dismissed.

I was thinking about calling

I was thinking about calling for sound money (I think the term honest money may have gone better with them) but I played it safe and left that out. I wanted to leave this entirely to things where we can agree with the progressives, and until Dennis Kucinich or Bernie Sanders calls for a gold standard, I don't think these people are going to want to hear it.

Yeah, my friend and I didn't

Yeah, my friend and I didn't even talk about "gold standard." We just talked about fiat money and inflation. When people would ask about the solution to fiat money, I simply suggested "currency competition." Let people decide what money they trust. The important thing is getting people to think about our monetary policy that benefits the oligarchs at the expense of the rest of us. Most people haven't thought about money from a "storage of value" perspective. Get them thinking about that, and they'll go look for anti-Establishment candidates on their own.

We didn't find any of the hasty generalizations about marxists and commies to be true. Some are self proclaimed marxists, but they really don't know what Marxism really is. They're generally confused, but have identified obvious problems. It's a good opportunity to share info in a non-threatening way.

true, but that is a balancing act for sure.
