Total
15 converted in NY.
So how many did you in NH
So how many did you in NH get???? A tally could be really encouraging to the rest of us.
I talked one
dem. in N.H. last night to switch today. Not to mention the many gop that over the last 4 years I have talked into Paul.
Did he register Undeclared or Republican?
I figure it's a lot easier to convince Democrats to register Undeclared than Republican. That would probably be the best route to take.
So it's come to this.
Get democrats that will vote for Obama to vote for Paul in the primary. Basically robbing peter to pay Paul then peter, will get it back in the end. A dangerous web you weave when you practice to deceive. Nothing more sad looking than pure desperation, while showing a lack of belief in all these "polls" showing A Ron Paul landslide. No lie can live forever, and now it's showing it's weary head with these desperate sell out tactics.
Explain yo'self!
RP is a states-man that the democratic party has all but forgotten actually exists.
He's not playing by the rules your used to.
He's not using "Tactics" that you've seen, probably not in our lifetime.
You think this is him looking desperate? This is a reminder to those of us with democrat friends that we have less than 20 hours to get our butts into gear and start talking to some of our fellow Americans, and let them know that there is a candidate running that CAN be conservative.
Now... explain yo'self.
What the heck is this about?!?!?
I have been anxiously waiting for a good chance to ask the Dailypaul community if we could convince Dr. RP to speak to the Occupy Wallstreet event, but I've been waiting because I'd read...
http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_faq/state_by_state_inf...
...and I ASSUMED that the deadline for registering republican was going to be sometime next year! So why the difference? Why the shift between people who arn't registered, and people are are changing affiliation?
Please, don't reply to this thread regarding my idea on the Occupation, I'm going to start up another thread for that. Just let me know, why is there a difference in the voting registration deadlines??
already registered and
already registered and waiting to vote =]
My first activist activities
I personally registered 10 people that I know I can count on to vote for Paul, even though not all were happy to change their party affiliation to Republican.
Next, I put up a sign near the microwaves in my health sciences center appealing to the students to vote for a doctor and not a lawyer, along with the tax free tips cards. Underneath the sign were a giant pile of voter registration forms, all had Republican checked off for party affiliation. I also made it clear that they could change their party after the primaries and what not.
I don't know if I convinced my local pizzeria, but almost knocked him off of his seat when I handed him the tax free tips card.
My Ron Paul bumper sticker also gets 120 miles per day on the highway.
My pot loving friend - told him that he would legalize marijuana
My Jewish friend - told her about Israeli independence
The cute waitress - tax free card
My parents- changed from D to R, otherwise I threatened to drop out of school
My veteran colleagues - veteran benefits and that RP is a veteran
I'm not sure if this will help or not but it sure as heck feels good! I don't want social security, warfare, welfare, drug wars, socialism etc. I hope the good doctor wins, and more importantly, delivers!
See what I did there?
"Hello, my name is Andrew Ryan and I'm here to ask you a question: is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got 15 total!
Wait, what if you voted for
Wait, what if you voted for Paul in 08? I haven't filled anything out since then and I'm in AZ. Can I still vote?
You only need to register once.
However, if you have moved to another address within Arizona, you should update your address by filling out another voter registration form or by updating it online.
You can check the status of your voter registration here:
https://voter.azsos.gov/
Make sure your address is correct and that you are registered Republican (if you voted for Ron Paul in the primaries in 2008, then you should still be registered Republican).
If you need to update any of your records, you can do so online here:

Even more important than voting: Become a Delegate
Only the delegates at the GOP convention in August 2012 determine who will be the nominee. Primaries and caucuses are not binding but only used as orientation.
So, in order to secure the nomination for Ron Paul you better become a delegate if you have the means/time to do it. Here is explained how: http://www.ronpaulsignbomb.com/step-by-step-to-delegate.html

Can someone help me with voting knowledge
Hi guys, I live in Iowa and the rest of my family(grandmother, mother, father, sister, brother, cousins and everyone else I know live in NC. My family and I have never voted in the past but I have them all talked into voting for Ron Paul next year. So what is the easiest way to explain the process to my parents so I don't make it sound like a very hard task. Does anyone know the voting deadline for Iowa?
Jacob Dixon
Since you're in Iowa,
If you're nearby, you might try and get to this event on the 22nd as well:

Thanks from all of us too far to make it!
Iowa has no deadline.
For Iowa, you can register to vote and register Republican at the caucus site, but please don't wait until then.
As far as North Carolina, the first thing your family needs to do is register to vote AND register Republican.
They need to fill out this voter registration form (pdf):
http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/GetDocument.aspx?id=241
In Box 6, they MUST check the box for Republican.
They need to mail in the forms to their County Board of Elections. Here is a list of County Board of Elections:
http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/content.aspx?id=13
North Carolina's primary date is May 8, 2012. That means on 5/8, elections will be held at various polling places across the state. All they need to do is go into the polling place and fill out a ballot (most likely all they need to do is fill out the circle that corresponds to Ron Paul). There will be polling place workers who can assist them if they have any questions.
Hey!
Do what I did. I downloaded the online voter registration forms, printed, and filled it out for them. They signed them. I mailed them and/or personally made the trip to the Board of Elections Office.
You could go to the NC website and download.
Here's the link to get the form: http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/content.aspx?id=48
Click on "Form" in the yellow highlighted box
Fill out the forms with them via a phone call. Mail it to them for signature. Include an envelope with stamp and the address of their Country Board of Elections Office.

Deadline to register to vote and register Republican North Carolina is April 13, 2012.
Act now and get it out of the way.
THIS TOPIC SHOULD HAVE BEEN STICKIED FOR 2 WEEKS
The last two days? Aww..
I posted this...
In late September. It was recently bumped up! It should stay up maybe title changed because it has links for ALL states' deadlines and forms online.
I just hand-delivered 4 more forms SWITCHES to Republican. I managed to have 15 people switch. Maybe 2 more coming.
We just have to do our best today and tomorrow and hope folks in other states can do better. I don't get why NY & NH had to be done so soon!?
If you are smart about this....
... you hand deliver your reg like you did, but you bring copies to your local GOP meeting.
Do so every meeting, give the copies of the registrations to the chairman.
That way you can show you are one of the most productive volunteers for the local part that attend the meetings and you can run for county, district or state delegate (or committeeman, depending on your state).
Volunteer for other inoffensive, mundane tasks that no one else wants to do like answering phones or licking envelopes. Get to know the people who are going to vote you in as delegate.
Bring a newspaper or book to read so you can read if they talk about things that offend you at the meetings.
Don't try to educate people you dont know at all at these meetings.
Do not come in with a sign screaming "911 was an inside job" and expect to get voted in as a delegate.
You are right
Maybe we can get a good jump on things from here on out. I would think those in NH know if they register independent they can vote for either party, but the NY deal is way early to be closing off switching and I think its a closed primary where you cant vote for either party unless you are registered within that party.

Idea for phone banks
At the sign wave a few days ago one of our guys came up with a good idea for the phone banks. Just designate a time with your facebook or meetup group to get together and make the calls, that way you can share what works or what doesnt work. This way it gets peoples feet wet so they can do this on their own afterwards if they're not the kind to just jump into doing something like this by themselves. I thought it was a great idea, that way it becomes a group activity instead of a lonesome activity.

Moving primaries forward
There is talk of NH now moving forward to December.
This is done by the Republican establishment for 2 reasons:
1. to close the gap on independents and blue democrats from switching party affiliation
2. to ease the burden on the party chosen from having to raise funds for the long-haul and to thin the field early
Get registered now regardless of your state deadline, procrastination will hurt us. Also, make certain to participate in the Oct 19 Moneybomb. With enough money we can stay for the long-haul.

New Yorkers: Please Read!
If you change parties, it won't be reflected until after the November 2011 election. After registering, you'll get something in the mail stating your polling place location, but it will show your old party affiliation.
To avoid shenanigans, I suggest that you travel down to your local board of elections and register in person. You can then confirm that the party affiliation is in the system to ensure that you'll be listed as republican after the November election.
Leader
I wan't a president who will uphold the law!
CA is Open
CA voters passed a measure last election to open the primaries. I've confirmed this with my local registrar in Sonoma County. FYI!
No.
The Presidential Primaries were not affected by the "Top Two" law that was passed last year. You still must register Republican to vote in the Republican Presidential Primary in 2012.
