Nashville Occupy participants trying to push Fed issue out. need help/advice

Hey guys, here's a link to a conversation I engaged in with some of the leadership of the Nashville occupy. Could some polite authors help a guy out and help influence this group to see our cause is aligned with theirs. Any help would do. They have taken down my "audit the federal reserve" signs the other day as well. Thanks guys.

Put up a sign that reads

As much as everyone seems to want them to be, THEY ARE NOT RON PAUL VOTERS!!!

They will HURT us in a GOP primary , NOT help.

They don't care about the Fed. They want corporations to be forced to share their profits with whoever they deem "needy".

I wish everyone would stop trying to embrace these progressives.
They are NOT on board.

you are wrong.

The majority of Occupy participants are Independents. They are us. You are DEAD wrong. Your actions will kill our credibility with the American people. You have NO idea what Occupy is or who is really there. Read this. http://occupywallst.org/media/pdf/OWS-profile1-10-18-11-sent...

Ron Paul on Occupy Wall Street:
“But I think that the majority of them think government is the problem and taxes are too high and they know that the Federal Reserve plays a role in this, which, of course, is something I agree with.”

These people can be reached out to. Why go out of your way to dissuade RP supporters from picking up on a great opportunity to spread the message???

Talk about ICELAND!

It took a while, but I think that is your entry point. All the corporate / government nonsense got brought to an immediate halt after Iceland kicked the IMF to the curb. Notice you never hear about Iceland in the news these days? That is because they took control of their banks and their government, rewrote their Constitution (the old one sucked) and now they are doing having an ACTUAL recovery.
Here is a little fodder:

Cold hard truth. You up for it?

I read about 2 sentences of the post, and that person is a plant. Trust me, these folks get in EARLY. They are smart enough not to try to stop the whole discussion, but they are REALLY good at directing it away from meaningful ones. The accusation of distracting to a trivial thing like "End the Fed" is ludicrous in the extreme, and certainly does not embrace the "1%" concept.
As for how to converse around this person, as I would not waste any more breath conversing with them, I find a simple question a GREAT opener when I went downtown today. Here, "corporate greed" is pretty much the big complaint. So, I opened with "Did you know the Federal Reserve is a corporation?" And most of them actually knew that. Then I went on a bit about how screwed up it is that a private corporation prints our national currency, and charges us all interest on it. Then I chimed right in with the general "anti-corporate" sentiment, always getting back to the Fed being the worst corporation of them all.
Hope that helps, and good luck. I want you to take this bull by the horns. Your group is infiltrated, near the top, and if you don't put on your very best "you" and get in this fight, they will infect your entire group.

Edit: After a few minutes, it occurs to me... Isn't there a Federal Reserve in Nashville? Yeah, I just googled it. I don't know if it is a ficus or a pothos, but that is DEFINITELY a plant you've got there.... On the plus side, if you need any confirmation that we are making very powerful people very nervous.... :)

Who took your signs down? Cops or OWS

Who took your signs down? Cops or OWS

Other ows...

...removed them and placed them with the pile of signs that were not up. I found my "audit the Fed" sign and reposted it. I have not been there the whole time, so I don't know who took it down, but a different ows sign was in its place.

That indicates an agenda

They pull signs not part of their agenda and put up their own signs.

So much for sharing ideas.

Please read:

Armed with this knowledge, find out what their *issue* is. Let them talk about what bothers them.

Then, let them know that you want nothing more than to see their *issue* go away and want to help them.

Then, get to the part about how their *issue* is being funded. That if the funding is cut off, their *issue* goes away.

This approach has REALLY been working for me anyway.

Good Luck!

...this is the kind of power I've been yearning for. Thank you, thank you!

I forgot to mention above about letting them know that the people *used* to have VETO power under the bond system, and the FED not only funds their *issue* but is the one and only reason they DO NOT have the veto power that we were given but is now taken.

I am amazed how so many people never knew we once had veto power.

Try to understand where they are coming from

and discuss rather than preach.

If what I understand of what is happening in Tennessee is correct, a lot of those people are protesting about what they feel like the new Republican one-party rule in that state is doing to their rights so they are rightly suspicious of all Republicans.

Like the right to vote for students, minorities and the elderly in the case of the bogus voter ID laws to disenfranchise voters against the Republican establishment. Just last week there was a 90-something old granny who had no drivers license but had been able to vote in every election in her life despite the scourge of Jim Crow and yet under the laws the national Republican Party is forcing across the country to disenfranchise voters this woman, who had to be driven to the DMV by someone else, wasn't able to get a voter ID because her marriage certificate the 30s had her maiden name on it.

There's also a lot of union rights that were once recognized by the state being taken away. Even if you don't believe in unions or collective bargaining as rights, these people understand them as rights just the same as NRA members are concerned about their 2nd Amendment rights and get upset when the state imposes gun control laws.

It sounds from the Facebook post though that you need to make clear that opposition to the Fed has nothing to do with Freedom Works and that the Fed is an enemy of unions and peace activists because the Fed is what makes the banks so powerful that they get DC to push austerity upon all of us at the same time they demand bailouts for themselves.

Very good, sensible post

Interesting points you made.

"I support the Declaration of Independence and I interpret the Constitution."

Now you are finding out

what you have gotten involved with.

The Federal Reserve represent the members who

got he corporate bailouts from the taxpayers. They Represent the richest Corporations in the Worlds, they can create money from nothing and loan it to the governments around the world and charge interest, they have monopoly power over our money!

Why wouldn't I be against the Federal Reserve?

Unless I was employed by them, that is!

Free includes debt-free!

Why do you disagree with them?

Also, it's their protest, so either join them, or back off, because you are not going to go in and "take this thing over", or "influence them". It's their "gig", not yours. Stick with the things you agree with them on, and avoid confrontation.

"I support the Declaration of Independence and I interpret the Constitution."

Why avoid debate?

Free includes debt-free!

They are there to protest

If you debate them, then you come across as a supporter of the Fed, bank banks and corporate greed. Why do you want to "debate"? How about "discuss"?

"I support the Declaration of Independence and I interpret the Constitution."

...and they

mention oath keepers as right-wing extremists....
