US Ties Iranian Operatives to a Plot to Kill Saudi AmbassadorSubmitted by mikrokosmos on Wed, 10/12/2011 - 09:06
So the propaganda machine has already started to spin this one:
"The Obama administration...accused agents of the Iranian government of being involved in a plan to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States."
The administration further vowed to "unite the world" against Tehran through new international sanctions, and VP Joe Biden said that U.S. action could go beyond sanctions, adding that "we're not going there yet".
Tehran disavowed all knowledge of or involvement in the alleged plot.
My favorite excerpt from the second article:
"Clinton and other U.S. officials said the alleged plot is a gross violation of international law and further proof that Iran is the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism...Mr. Obama called [the Saudi ambassador] on Tuesday to declare that the foiled assassination plot was a 'flagrant' violation of U.S. and international law, the White House said."
If plotting to kill other countries' government officials is the bar for becoming a "state sponsor of terrorism", I have another government to add to the list...
