A former NYPD narcotics detective snared in a corruption scandal testified it was common practice to fabricate drug charges against innocent people to meet arrest quotas.

The bombshell testimony from Stephen Anderson is the first public account of the twisted culture behind the false arrests in the Brooklyn South and Queens narc squads, which led to the arrests of eight cops and a massive shakeup.

Anderson, testifying under a cooperation agreement with prosecutors, was busted for planting cocaine, a practice known as "flaking," on four men in a Queens bar in 2008 to help out fellow cop Henry Tavarez, whose buy-and-bust activity had been low.

Outlaw entrapment!

No one can argue that placing drugs on an innocent person in order to arrest them is morally and legally wrong. Providing an easy, planned out opportunity for a person to commit illegal acts, who probably would not have had the opportunity to act so without gov. help, should also be illegal. The CIA and FBI stay in business setting up innocent, though mentally lacking, people in sting operations, such as the current "terrorist" threat to kill the ambassador. My argument is that providing opportunity to commit and act which would not have been provided in the normal course of events, is very similar to planting drugs on an innocent person.

would love to have coffee with you

Actually I am drinking coffee right now.

Had great time relaxing...almost every day in the forest by the lake in the sun and far away from anything depressing like booze.
Alcohol is not a good medicine.

Police officers who do such

Police officers who do such things deserve to be in prison.

...

police officers who do such things

should be shot, and every thing they own given to their victims.

I think John is right

To throw them in with the general population of gansters would be worse than being shot. They won't do it though.
