Robin Koerner: The War On Terror Kills More Americans than Al-Awlaki Could

*** This is the first article I’ve ever submitted to the Huffington Post that they have refused to publish. I await their response as to why. Meanwhile, I am delighted to be able to post it here. ***
Most comments of those who disagree that the manner of killing of Al-Awlaki should not be acceptable to Americans assume two things: first, that the killing was necessary to keep us safe, and second, that the executive branch of government can be trusted to make that assessment without legal constraint.
The issue is not the killing of an American person per se. I recognize the legitimacy of killing as punishment for capital crime after presentation of evidence, due process and a jury trial. I recognize the legitimacy of killing in self-defense, which is a killing by someone likely to be harmed by an aggressor. I recognize the legitimacy of killing in the course of securing a military objective in a just conflict that is being waged in self-defense. Moreover, I do not believe in a moral duty to respond “proportionately” to an intrusion or attack, and I do believe in a military than can deliver crushing force in defense of the nation.
That said, let’s look at the assumptions on which the argument of those who support the killing of Al-Awlaki rest.

Danger from "Terrorists"
I don't think the "terrorists" really have any motivation, when they see on their satellite TVs that the Administration is doing more damage to the American Way than any number of "terrorists" could even dream of.
And howcome the war addicts refuse to acknowledge the fact that the Arabs are simply sick and tired of the Crusades, and want the invaders out of their sovereign countries?
Freedom is my Worship Word!
Excellent article!!
Excellent article!! Unfortunately most, if not all, of the MSM are part of the Corporatist mix (propaganda arm). I am not surprised they would not run the article. Hopefully Ron Paul will be elected President and break up the relationship between all of the Corporatist entities so the media can once again provide honest reporting without fear of reprisals from the government.
One of
the best bumper stickers I have seen says:
"We are CREATING MORE enemies than we can KILL"
I think it sums up the foreign policy nicely.

too bad
Robin, this was so well-written, its a shame they wouldn't publish it for you in their paper.
black this out
The law of the land that the framers of the constitution intended us to consider for the purpose of protecting our liberties was void of the technical wonders we employ in our modern day pursuit of happiness. The oil that must be consumed doesn't come from whales or olives as it did in yesteryears. Today we enjoy things like washing machines,
cars, indoor plumbing, radio and television, 401ks, IRAs, INTERNET, heating and air conditioning, refrigeration, etc., all without giving a second thought about doing without such conveniences. We don't spend hours each day hunting and growing food in our land.
About one out of four Americans are underemployed or looking for a job so they can live the American dream. Some have given up trying and are dependent upon the government (you) for their subsistence.
The savagery and suffering of our distant ancestors have not been eradicated and are still very homogeneous to our modern way of life. The laws of the jungle are always enforced in the real world, whether we like it or not. We are slaves to a pathetic self-righteous denial of guilt for the injustices we create in the name of progress. We don't dwell on the fact that this nation is the result of mass extinction of native Americans now do we.
What I'm really saying is, so what, if things are easier for some (like Americans). Does that make them obligated in anyway to the rest of mankind? If you have been duped and you are just awakening from some dream you thought you were living- try living in reality. Let me know how that works out. Just remember freedom isn't free.
What kind of modern world is this when "pro-choice" is about abortion rights, not about individual rights to choose the function and distribution of the fruits of one's own labor.
and then you die
The 'War On Terror'...Code Name For Global Genocide and Control
The 'War on Terror' is really code for global systematic genocide or scientific eugenics on a global scale. Period!
Scientific Eugenics..Using powerful modern day weaponry to kill off a great numbers of resisters to the New World Order while incarcerating the most febble minded, go along to get along compliant slaves. (F.E.M.A. Camps Slaves or modern day Gulags)
Your references please.
Please give us documentation or historical reference into your accusations. Eugenics is a reality and if it is practiced on a personal level ( an individual that you and another decide to procreate with) than it is not a problem as long as you and the individual are able to take care of your procreation and teach your offspring how to take care of themselves and to be tolerant of other individuals and their ideas and beliefs.
If eugenics is forced on you than this is a constitutional issue.
hope for the best
The war on terror is a modern
The war on terror is a modern day witch hunt point blank and simple!!!
hope for the best
Terror used... time immortal... time immemorial.
Witch hunts were used but fleeting moments in history. One of so many terrible ways & means of inciting terror.
Terror? Time immortal... Time immemorial. Used by the very mean.

1917. War is chaos. Proper protocol must be honored in peace.
1917. Lt. George S. Patton prepares to enter WW I battlefields of France.
When the Baltic [steamer] sailed from New York on May 28, 1917, the thoroughness of the General [General Perishing, US Army] nature again came to evidence. The second day out all officers were divided into sections for the study of French. The more fluent and the interpreters acting as instructors; the General himself joining regularly in the lessons.
Of his arrival in England on June 7th, and in France on June 13th, much has been written. Perhaps I may be pardoned if I [George S. Patton] insert here an incident of my own experience.
I commanded the Headquarters Troop, A.E.F., then consisting of forty-six enlisted men. We were quartered in the Tower of London, attached to a battalion of the Honorable Artillery Company, and by them treated in every way as friends and brothers. Our entry into that historic fortress; marking as it did the only occasion on which foreign troops have ever marched through that venerable portal save in the guise of prisoners, was impressive in the extreme. The stability of the British race was impressed on me when one evening, after dinner, their Officer of the Day, called "Pickett Officer," asked me, "If I wished to take the keys." Presuming that it was some sort of drink I at once assented, but was soon disillusioned. We proceeded with due solemnity to the vicinity of the guardhouse, where we saw the guard lined up under an ancient colonnade with No.1 sentinel stalking up and down before them. Presently a lantern appeared approaching the guardhouse. No.1 challenged, "Halt! Who comes there?" to which the lantern replied, "The keys." No.1 answered, "Whose keys?" The lantern replied, "King George's keys." To which No.1 exclaimed, "God bless King George." The guard then presented, and the officer of the day called, "Amen." No.1 then called, "Advance keys, all's well." So the incident ended.
On inquiry I discovered that this same ceremony of locking the Tower at ten o'clock and placing the keys in the guardhouse had been in effect since the time of Henry II, nearly one thousand years.
