I am not an American
Submitted by legalizeliberty on Sun, 10/16/2011 - 12:41During chat a short time ago I was attacked by one of the Daily Paul members accused of not being an American and told I should not be an activist and should not be on this website because "I am not an American".
Yes I must admit.
I am not an American.
I am a Polish-Canadian living in Toronto.
Well my brothers and sisters in Liberty as it happens certain hero of the American revolution was just like me "not an American" his name was Kazimierz Pułaski --

he left Poland to come to the rescue of your country willing to sacrifice his life all he held dear for your freedoms.
At one time when the leader of the Continental army General George Washington was injured in battle Pułaski this noble Polish soldier saved his life.
I do not want to showcase to put forth to list the fruits of my activism so to justify my work the work that my heart told me to do over the last four and a half years.

P.S. I wonder how many Americans know what day Patrick Henry made his famous "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" speech?
Some here remember that I made a call for Ron Paul supporters to start demonstrating following the footsteps of the brave Egyptian people and the day I chose for the protests to start was March 23rd...few were willing to respond to my call -- instead the "left" picked it up and started to organize protests which gave birth to the Occupy Movement.

sweetie, you are a bit sensitive...as most poetic/creative people are. I know you already realize this about yourself--next step is to not let it adversely affect you. Do not let one negative person get you down when there are so many people here who love and care about you and appreciate your efforts. Focus on that instead!
I have certainly missed your numerous threads and comments--the Daily Paul is not the same without you here.

Ron Paul is RIGHT ON on so many levels, to tell someone to forget Ron Paul, SHAME ON HER!!!!!!

Cindy liked RP for a long time
Cindy liked RP a lot for a very long time.
She told me she lost respect for Ron after watching "Secure" tv add she said it was "fascist".
A few months back I almost got her to endorse Ron.
Anyways I am filling my backpack with food and heading to the Occupy Toronto to spend the night with them talking drinking tea & coffee and sharing our hearts...over 100 people will spend the night there once again and I feel the urge to be with them.

My access to the
internet was somewhat limited this summer. I was relegated to trying to find what little information I could from the mainstream media about what was happening in the world.
I just listened to RP's weekly update you posted. I think sometimes there is such a deluge of information on the dp that some things get overlooked.
I'm not sure what Cindy meant when she said not to waste your time with Ron Paul. You said she thought Dr. Paul's 'Secure' ad was fascist. I think many of us here know what RP's position is about securing our borders. He sometimes has to use the words the other side uses to reach his audience although his idea of securing the border is different than a neocons. For instance, not creating enemies from our overseas militarism could be one way of keeping our borders secure. Here is Ron's comment in the debate about the danger of border fences.
I see Dr. Paul's liberty movement growing at a sure and steady pace. It may not always have the rapid growth of other movements that target particular issues but it strikes at the root of the problem and cannot be easily twisted or co-opted due to it's strong philosophical underpinnings.

I saw you post some things yesterday and was happy to see your return.
Anyone that has spent any time on DP knows who you are, where you are, what you have been doing, and that you are a brother in liberty for sure. I promise that your geographic location in inconsequential.

Hard day...I was supposed to be planned to be at Occupy Toronto today as I was yesterday...and my energy just left me.
But at least I know at noon bunch of Ron Paul supporters showed up at the OT protest site with that wonderful huge Ron Paul rEVOLution banner. They talk to people let people take pictures just as they did yesterday all day long.
Another thing that upset me is that overnight just past 3am my friend Peace Mom Cindy Sheehan was arrested at Occupy Sacramento protest...bad day...I am going for a coffee.

Hey Legalize,
I didn't know you had been disenfranchised by an obviously bigoted member. I liked reading your satire articles.
I must say that I just went to Toronto two weeks ago, and a majority of your citizens are well-informed people. I had many discussions with people who know the issues we are having, better than the US population does.
It was also interesting to see how different the media was there. It was just like our media was 15 years ago. Instead of feeding a bunch of crap over the air, the Canada breaking news "headline" was finding an 80 year old man who went missing in a park.
Just keep on keeping on my friend in liberty!

According to my American friends I'm not an American citizen as well. I live in US, I became American citizen in 1995, I finished my education here in US, and I even work for US government. However, I am not an American citizen because I was not born here in USA. I don't worry about comments like that anymore. This country is full of ignorants. It is full of ignorants and that is why things are going the way they are going.
What I care for is this country, I love it. I was born in Poland. In 2007 I watched Republican debate in South Carolina and instantly fell in love with Ron Paul. And that was when everything changed. I have been following Ron Paul since than. I don't really post much because of the job I do but this time I felt I had to. Don't worry much about some comments people make. It is all about what you feel inside. Working for government and being Ron Paul supporter don't really match. But I care more for US than I care for my job. I just hope that he gets elected. And if it means that I loose my job I am fine with it.

We've chatted before, and yours is one of the names I associate with DP. I always thought that you are a U. S. Citizen living in Canada, but learning that you are not only increased my appreciation for your efforts!
Brand new Russian American, living in Canada now (on the way to check out Vancouver OWS protest, and maybe convince someone to open their eyes) here. I was not US citizen last time around, but I am soooo writing him in, if the worst happens, but working for the best to happen!
Again, sorry for someone who dissed you! And, I do, again, appreciate all the work you put into bumping useful things here, and working for our Revolution in general!

You just reminded me of something uplifting that happened several weeks ago during Polish Festival here in Toronto.
There were thousands of people many of them came from Chicago and I knew I had to spread the word about the good doctor and give them educational leaflets.
I was blessed with many hugs from people who would say for example "I am a die hard Ron Paul supporter but I am afraid to tell this to my band mates because they are democrats lol"...people would come up to me and give me money for activism...one group five girls from Chicago four of them Ron Paul supporters and one for Bachmann...street artist performer told me "I saw you posters I support your guy".
People are waking up.

I just finished reading (about 20 minutes ago!)
an autobiography by Josiah Henson called Truth Stranger Than Fiction. This remarkable man was a slave during the darkest hours of this nation's history and managed to become a free man, not by traveling to the northern United States but by finding refuge in Canada.
What struck me the most was how, just across a border, the mentality of people could be so vastly different.
Canada (your country Tom) should be proud for the refuge and opportunities she afforded the fugitve slave.
(I highly recommend the above book...)

I was with the understanding that everyone on the American continent was an American?,You must mean that you are not a Citizen of the U.S.?. We must remember that The revolution has support from all over the world.
For many of them it is in their best interests to see liberty prevail in the U.S. because it also affects them abroad.Please,No one ever chastise or discredit any Ron Paul supporters from abroad that have the same interests and passion that we do here in the U.S. or the DP.Some of them are working harder than most of us are here.

The fact that we were born in the country is a fortunate accident. We had nothing to say in where we were born. And because we were born here, I believe that we have an obligation to try to work to restore freedoms lost over many decades. I think we have a need to educate ourselves, and others. And we should support candidates who we believe will execute those values and principles that lead to a maximum of freedom.
I am happy to have the support of people in all countries who value freedom. Just as we work to restore freedom in the US, hopefully they will work to establish freedom in their own nation. And if that is not possible, we should welcome them as LEGAL immigrants, and ask them to join us.
