The secret to winning over unlikely converts to Ron PaulSubmitted by RPfansince08 on Mon, 10/17/2011 - 02:20
Many times people who are turned away from Ron Paul are turned away because there is at least one issue that they don't agree with him about.
There is a way to getting around that. If for example, you know someone doesn't agree with his economic or military policies, find something that you have in COMMON with these people and start from there, with the goal of linking the 2 issues together(as we know that economic, foreign policies are linked) Just as the military needs a strategy to winning, so must we have a strategy in dealing with winning over tough people to Ron Paul. The "achilles heel" is the person's most vulnerable part of their body. It's the place where a combatant knows he can make him fall, hence the strategy that warriors go for their opponent's achilles heel when trying to win battle. In a war for people's mind and support, their achilles heel is always going to be the thing that you and they have in COMMON. That is where you start!
For example, a person may think Ron Paul is crazy about his foreign policy, but may readily agree with you that the federal reserve is out of control. Knowing that foreign policy is DIRECTLY tied to the fed, gives you your battle plan! Once this person understands that the fed and central bankers fund the wars and military industrial complex, they will come around to Ron Paul's foreign policy position!
Today, we have more people than ever angry at the govt. The root problem is the federal reserve. If you can get Ron Paul skeptics to assert that the fed is the problem or that they should at least be audited, you have them right where you want them strategically speaking. Because what we would find as a result of a full audit of the fed would spell out just the way Henry Ford quoted:
"It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."
I have outlined a few strategies below that I feel will help get more Ron Paul exposure on youtube. The key to successful marketing is KNOWING your audience, and TARGETING a specific audience in each video.
A)STEALTH AMBUSH STRATEGY:
Another great idea to winning people over to Ron Paul is to go stealth mode! What do I mean? Make youtube videos that don't have his name in the title! By going stealth mode, you AMBUSH your selected audience!(A popular battle strategy militaries have used for millennium)
ie: Knowing that much of America has fallen to the left/right paradigm, that republicans are suppose to oppose democrats and vice versa, use that to your advantage! For example, To target democrats, one could make a Ron Paul video titled "Republicans caught in their own lies". Another example, bait Rush Limbaugh listeners with an innocent seeming video(notice "Ron Paul" is not in the title): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIHNefVf4y4&feature=youtu.be
B)QUESTION CHARACTER STRATEGY:
This strategy seeks to put a question mark into the audience before they watch the video. This stirs up curiosity. For example, those who have a predisposition to not liking Ron Paul, would be baited into watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Mz9pDGHBTo
Throughout the video, there is the suspense that Ron Paul may be hiding something, and the viewer is watching it with the idea that it will EVENTUALLY come up(So they wont cancel the video early on). What is really going on simultaneously, the viewer is getting a quick education on Ron Paul. This is a very sneaky psychological technique.
We need to think STRATEGY when reaching across youtube(and any other medium). You can MAXIMIZE this by carefully making videos with a SPECIFIC purpose. The brightest military generals of all time utilized STRATEGY to winning their battles. The media isn't going to help us! We need to brainstorm ideas on how to target audiences on social media. Please give me feedback and I can add it to my list. If you think I need to edit anything I've written feel free to let me know and I'll consider it:)
