The question I have for Ron Paul (and nearly all neo-liberal, Keynesian, and neo-liberal economics), is that they all seem to recognize that the private sector net wants to save more.
Considering that dollars are flowing out of the country via exportation, how does Ron Paul propose that the private sector net save more, unless the government runs a deficit? In terms of pure, dollar-denominated, financial wealth.
Plan for eliminating the national debt in 10-20 years:
Specific cuts; defense spending: http://rolexian.wordpress.com/2011/01/03/more-detailed-look-a
Future President Ron Pauls interview technique has skyrocketed in the last few weeks. Let's make a list...
1) He didn't ramble on and on while making the same point over and over.
2) He mentioned his massive victory in military donations.
3) He was sharp and to the point.
4) He said multiple times, "As President, I would...".
Bonus - His suit actually fit him.
We're getting ready for prime time! He must know he's going to get a slew of interviews after BTO, the debate, and his newly released plan for America combines to create the perfect storm.
Ron Paul 1, Assface 0
Wolf needs to learn how to ask the question, SHUT UP, and let his guest answer without him interrupting. I really can't stand that about him.
If you walk blindly through life, you will run into a lot of walls.
Ron Paul completely neutralized Blitz Krieger...Dominate!
in charge". He is so brilliant. I thought he did excellent handling all of Blitzkrieg's hectic questioning. Telling Wolf he could donate foreign aid himself to the country of his choice if he wants to - haha! That is awesome. Poor Wolf, he was beside himself when the doc mentioned that all the noise about Iran is "war propaganda". Brilliant work, Doc!!!
"I want to cut back the Draconian increases in spending we've been dealing with decades"
And those Draconian increases will eat you alive - GAO data from 2007 shows that by 2040, nearly every dollar the government collects in taxes will be needed for Social Security, Medicare, and paying interest on the national debt. That info of course predates that massive increase in the national debt since then, and updated information from this year: Government report shows Social Security will run out of money in 2036, a year earlier than estimated, and Medicare will run out in 2024, 5 years earlier than estimated. And by the way, Social Security to run PERMANENT DEFICITS beginning THIS YEAR
SS and medicare are already out of money. They have been for years.
Great line. Gets the point across that government is forcing people to donate to their picks among foreign conflicts.
Unfortunately, the neutrality act prevents US citizens from donating to the foreign aid recipient of their choice.
(That's how they kept US citizens from going to Cuba: No ban on travel. But a ban on spending "hard currency" there. Of course you had to spend money if you went to Cuba. Catch-22.)
IMHO one of the things Ron should do in his first term is repeal those provisions of the neutrality act. A good way to do that would be to promote a bill to simultaneously kill foreign aid and explicitly allow US citizens to send money to ANY side in ANY part of the world (that isn't a party named in a congressional declaration of war. B-) ).
Then Israel and the PLO could stage dueling aid concerts...

"Obama’s Economists: ‘Stimulus’ Has Cost $278,000 per Job."
That means: For each job "created or saved" about five were destroyed.
Ron Paul consistently defends his opinions and time keeps proving him right. We need this man as President.
Especially since the Executive Branch of the U.S. Govt has been looking for an excuse to bomb Iran for 10 years.
"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon
He really tries to make Ron Paul look bad on every issue.
No surprise to me he's bought and paid for like every other talking head on TV.
Blitzer is such a snake.
Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.
Ron Paul is not a man who will make rash decisions. That's just one more thing the establishment doesn't like about him. He will want to look at the evidence before committing us to any military conflict. He knows how the elites manipulate. Consider what was done to JFK and afterwards he wanted to smash the CIA into a thousand pieces.
"Men are ruled, at this minute, by the clock, by liars who refuse them news, and by fools who cannot govern."
And considering what ELSE was done to JFK it behoves Ron to pick a VP who is even MORE of a constitutional minarchist/libertarian than he is (if there IS such a person available). Then taking Ron out would be counterproductive.
IMHO that's the one thing that would argue for giving The Judge the VP slot, rather than saving him for the Supreme Court.
But I believe Dr. Edwin Vieira would be feared even more as VP.
RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL! RON PAUL!
When did the Department of Energy take control of nuclear bombs?
When they set it up. Because uranium reactors breed the plutonium used to make bombs. D.O.E. is in charge of all the parts of the nuclear fuel cycle and bomb development and manufacture.
First paragraph from Wikipedia:
The United States Department of Energy (DOE) is a Cabinet-level department of the United States government concerned with the United States' policies regarding energy and safety in handling nuclear material. Its responsibilities include the nation's nuclear weapons program, nuclear reactor production for the United States Navy, energy conservation, energy-related research, radioactive waste disposal, and domestic energy production. DOE also sponsors more basic and applied scientific research than any other US federal agency; most of this is funded through its system of United States Department of Energy National Laboratories.
D.O.E. is about "energy" like D.O.D. is about "defence".
The doctor does say that some important departments of the agencies cut will be moved over to other agencies, I am sure he would not cut all the department of energy, especially for the duties it serves to the navy which is constitutional.
P.S. - I cannot stand Wolf Blitzer, when he interviews Ron Paul, I just want to sock him in the face.
Yeah, WTF? RP missed a chance to make Blitzer look like the total tool that he is.
has always been in charge of that, as far as I know.
They are/were over Pantex, a weapons manufacturer in the panhandle of Texas. They are serious business.
Our martial arts instructor as a kid was one of the guys who rode shotgun on the semis that delivered icbm's all over the country. Trained for any kind of incident that might happen on the road. You couldn't steal one of those things if you had a small army. The whole truck just locks down and fills with foam as a last resort. Anyway...
He'd come over after class and hang with my dad and have a few beers. He was always pretty careful about what he said, but there were a few nights where he's make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, with some of the stories he told. Nice guy, but one of those people you can never quite get comfortable around. I always think of his story when I hear about the D.O.E.
As a teenager I had a friend that was out in their car with other friends fooling around the fence of this place, and they showed up with suburbans with 50 cals coming out of the roof. They seem like their own private army. That was back in the early 80's
I hope he knows how he's going to deal with this question. I would imagine he'd turn it over to the military. The D.O.E. seems deeply embedded. I just don't know to what extent.
I'm a nuclear engineer and this is the case but there is no reason the Nuclear Regulatory Commission could not handle it.
Wolf is really out of his head. He just want a rebuttal on Pres Ron Paul arguments to the extent that he is pulling facts straight from his butt@$le. Is Wolf for real? He is in total disconnect to say that. Nuclear Bombs the last time we checked are own by the american gov't and maintain by our military not DOE. Stop twisting the argument and be truthful it's your job as a news anchor to know the facts to educate the people who are still watching your show. If people get fed up about this you will be seeing a rise of the real FREE PRESS ordinary people doing real news that people can participate into and check at will. Because the truth my friend will set u free.
"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty."
I disagree. He's very much in his head. He has an agenda, and that is to destroy any chance RP would have at success. They're "in the business of kicking candidates out of the race." He is a tool.
He knows it too.
He purposely didn't make the distinction between militarism, and defense, even when it was explained to him.
Hummmm...Department of Energy is just one screwed up bureaucracy. It has no real power, believe me..
But Paul Is Harder. Paul answered all the questions straight on wolfs face. Wolf is leaning on militarism. He clearly shows that he's a bit annoyed how good Pres Ron Paul is he cannot even make a dent. I guess like a rough diamond. Our presidential candidate is now well faceted on all topics and whatever they can throw at him it wouldn't matter because he is tough inside out.
This was one of the things that impressed me when I first started looking into Paul. He simply can answer any question thrown at him because he speaks from principles and not talking points and rehearsed answers. How many times have the asks him questions to trap him and he answers well every time often making the questioner look like a fool.
You damn right he did a good job.He skunked you trash man!
