Ron Paul leading straw polls in number of votes and number of poll wins

stats from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_polls_for_the_Republican_...

As of 11/07/11, there have been 37 GOP straw polls this year. Approximately 47,123 votes took place in those polls. Ron Paul is clearly getting more votes.

1. Paul 12163, 26% of all votes
2. Cain 8310, 18%
3. Bachmann 6042, 13%
4. Romney 4562, 10%
5. Perry 4456, 9%
6. Santorum 2946, 6%
7. Pawlenty 2790, 6%
8. Gingrich 2021, 4%
9. Huntsman 687, 1%
10. Palin 452, 1%

There are others, but all under 1%.

Notes:
-It seems that Cain deserves his high status...just a shame the media ignores Paul's lead.
-Ever steady Romney just went from fifth to fourth
-Bachmann surprised me with her third place

How about who won the most straw polls? Ron Paul wins again. He won 14 of the 37 straw polls!!!!

Going by Olympic weighting, Cain is tied with Paul: 3 points for gold (1st place), 2 points for silver (2nd), 1 point for bronze (3rd):

Name 1st / 2nd / 3rd = TOTAL POINTS
1. Paul: 14 / 4 / 0 = 50
2. Cain: 12 / 6 / 2 = 50
3. Romney: 4 / 9 / 9 = 39
4. Bachmann: 1 / 4 / 5 = 16
5. Perry: 0 / 6 / 4 = 16
6. Santorum: 2 / 1 / 4 = 12
7. Gingrich: 0 / 4 / 4 = 12
8. Huckabee: 1 / 1 / 1 = 6
9. Daniels: 1 / 0 / 1 = 4
10. Pawlenty: 0 / 1 / 2 = 4
11. Karger: 1 / 0 / 0 = 3
12. Barbour: 1 / 0 / 0 = 3
13. Palin: 0 / 0 / 3 = 3
14. Huntsman: 0 / 1 / 0 = 2
15. Johnson: 0 / 0 / 1 = 1
16. Trump: 0 / 0 / 1 = 1
17. McCotter: 0 / 0 / 1 = 1

Notes:
-Only eight of these races were big polls (over 1000 voters).
-Paul won 5 big polls and 9 small polls
-Cain won 2 big polls and 10 small polls
-Bachmann won one big poll
-Romney won 4 small polls...lol
-Romney is the most consisent, placing in the top three 22 times; followed by Cain (20 times), then Paul (18 times)

I like the overall numbers at the top. It shows that, by far, people are voting for Ron Paul.

Feel free to post these numbers wherever you want. I'll try to update as more straw polls come out.

Paul destroys competition in pay per vote straw poll in Illinois

Paul received an amazing 52% of a week long pay $5 per vote straw poll in Illinois.

And the volume was high: 3649 votes (anything over 1000 is a big poll).

This is a big victory for Paul.

Congrats!

There was another straw poll over the weekend. A small one with "dozens" of people. Paul didn't do so well there: Cain, Gingrinch, and Romney took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

======================================================

The numbers in the OP have been updated to reflect these polls.

The total percentage of people voting for Paul has increased from 24% to 26%. Cain is stuck at 18%.

Despite the black out, Paul is clearly the people's choice.

Two more straw polls over the weekend! Ron Paul crushes Iowa!

Ron Paul got an insane 82% of Iowans votes in the Iowa straw poll. But it seems they added 101 votes of non-Iowans that loved Cain.

Still, Paul got a whooping 71% of all votes in this poll.

How this is not news is beyond me. Let the black out continue.

================================

Iowa 10/29/11

1. Paul 379 votes (71%)
2. Cain 88 votes (17%)
3. Santorum 20 votes (4%)

==================================

The other poll this weekend was in Alabama. 10/29/11

1. Cain 176 votes (51%)
2. Paul 156 votes (45%)
3. Gingrich/Perry (1.5%)

====================================

The overall straw poll stats in the OP have been updated.

what does jesse benton to do stop or allow media blackout?

clearly, rp supporters are very, very tired and exhausted from the media blackout. they won't even mention pauls' name in discussion other candidates while they consistently mention other names that are consistenly in the single digits like bachmann and santorum and even cain when he was in the single digits.

why don't rp supporters reach out directly to ron paul and directly to jesse benton to stop this nonsense and stop saying media does not ignore ron paul almost consistently?

isn't it better use of time to email on rp's iowa success and not email how cain supported tarp? or should we and rp campaign manager and media continue to allow media blackout? and perhaps just focus on attacking cain via emails and avoid saying anything romney campaign would not like rp to say?
