Iowa HQ: Vote Observers Needed in Iowa!! Urgent Need.
I am writing this from the Ron Paul War Room in Des Moines right now.
The Iowa Ron Paul campaign needs trustworthy and dedicated supporters in each precinct to observe the vote count, and to report the actual count back to the state headquarters.
With 1784 precincts in Iowa, it is impossible for the campaign to monitor this process using paid staffers. You can help us ensure an honest and accurate caucus. Contact your County Coordinator today to volunteer for this critical role in the Iowa campaign. If you do not know who your County Coordinator is, please contact me directly.
I hope that my email inbox will be flooded with volunteers. In a perfect world, at least one person will volunteer for each precinct. That said, help us quickly coordinate this effort by writing your subject line using this format: "Precinct Observer. (Your County Name). (Your Precinct)."

The answer is no the campgaign is NOT
working with these groups. I'm tired of asking why. tired of rude responses from headquarters so this is what I have done
I'm taking vote totals and reporting to two different groups. There is also a great on in California and phone number.
If you are in Hamilton, Humbolt or Howard counties are are going to ANY of the caucuses tonight, please call me.
We are having trouble since the "official" campaign has put out it's message on this site to not work with other groups. Now people seem to be afraid to report so we are scrambling at the last minute.
Please help if you are in any of these counties. If you are in other counties go to Liberty Broadcasting Network and find out who your "at home reporter is" and plan to call them tonight.

Correct. Only video can capture the counting phase while it is in progress. I do recommend video in the Republican caucuses especially, for the phase where they do a show of hands. But I also realize that more people can get an $8 disposable camera from the corner drugstore to photograph results than will have good video cameras or the desire to sit there doing that during the caucus. So, given the choice, the photo of the signed results slip is priority one. Video is priority two, probably best done by observers, not participants.
As for the photos: Obviously, it's nice to have a digital camera with the ability to upload photos promptly to web sites, and email them. But lots of people don't have those either. At least, if people get photos of the signed results tapes with a camera of any kind, they will have evidence to back up any discrepancies in reported results from caucus goers vs. reported results from the media.
There will be a live results reporting web site -- libertyradio? I have to go hunt through my emails to get the exact URL. Caucus goers can report results there, but just verbal reports aren't worth the paper they aren't written on.
Even signed affidavits from witnesses are pretty worthless if there is a discrepancy. Photos are what's really needed.
Anyone can upload photos of the signed caucus results in the Iowa forum here at this Web site. Just register, log in and when you post, hit the "upload" button, find the photo on your computer, upload it.
Is the campaign cooperating with Liberty Broadcast Network?
Apologies if I missed the post, but I haven't seen an answer yet from anyone in the campaign. Is the campaign planning to go along with the GOP and keep the caucus tallies secret, or is the campaign going to instruct Dr. Paul supporters to record and phone in the tallies to be published publicly on the internet?
This is a very simple question that should be a concern to everyone interested in a fair election. Without going into detail here, as we all know the potential for fraud if the process is not closely monitored and recorded publicly, the LBN strategy is a no-brainer. And since LBN is recruiting monitors independently, it would seem that the sooner the campaign began cooperating, the easier it would be to confirm coverage of every caucus location and avoid duplication of precious resources.
So Jay, or someone else in the campaign, which is it???

Since TRANSPARENCY does not seem to be an option with this Iowa GOP, then the only alternative for the People to ensure a FAIR election is to gather evidence. Photograph, videotape and eyeball the count. And if there is name calling going on by the GOP against the People who are attempting to gather evidence (such as paranoid conspirisist) then IMMEDIATELY report it to Blackboxvoting.org. This is the time to stand up for our rights, because our very democracy and freedom is riding on making sure we have a fair election.

Jay - and other Iowans - are worried about "pissing off" the Iowa GOP and the National GOP. I was one of the volunteers for the "Vote In Sunshine" effort at the Ames Iowa Straw poll on August 11th of last year - see voteinsunshine.com
We learned a lot from that effort and the Liberty Broadcast Network (LBN) - http://www.libertybroadcastnetwork.org/ - is a direct example of the kind of empowered activism that came out of that exercise. I believe LBN initiative forced the Ron Paul campaign's hand - they had/have to do something.
I really don't know why the campaign can't work with the grassroots on this initiative. All they need to do is made ONE (1) extra call into LBN to confirm what they have witnessed in the caucuses. That's a VERY SIMPLE task!! ONE (1) more call!! PERIOD!!
They - the campaign - have everything to gain and nothing to lose by urging/demanding that their caucus observers make that ONE (1) extra call.

In the past few days i keep reading all these articals that say the Iowa caucus usually recieves 50-100,000 voters in total. IN TOTAL. All we need is for every RON PAUL supporter in iowa to go to the caucus at all costs and its in the bag. We can win this thing people, just make absolute sure we show up!!
Six must do's in IA and NH!!!!
1. If you are a caucus goer then wear RP for president clothes, buttons, lapel pins, anything that clearly identifies you as a RP supporter.
2. Make a tally sheet, that list the name and contact info for all that voted for RP.
3. Video tape everything and upload it that night. Be sure to catch those RP voters catch names and faces
4. Remain calm but fight like hell. Call the news stations, post it on youtube, blog the hell out of it.
5. Post all results.
6. Celebrate!!!!!

I like to be positive, but I must add my own observations. I was just in Iowa for the holidays. I was in Des Moines several times. Yes, there are a lot of Ron Paul signs. However, if someone did not see any Huckabee signs, they weren't looking very hard.
I went door to door in the precinct my parents live in and found a few Ron Paul supporters but found a LOT more undecideds. The reality is that Iowa is going to be a tough, tough battle. If Dr. Paul gets first or second it will be an amazing show of grass-roots level support. If he gets third it will be fantastic. According to the DSM Register he is tied for fourth with Thompson.
Getting feet on the ground is of utmost importance. In my parents precinct there are roughly 300 registered republicans. In the past they have had 20-25 at the caucus. So, finding 15 Ron Paul supporters out of 300 republicans is all it takes to assure a victory in the precinct. I believe this is typical for the precincts in Iowa.

I have signed up to watch a county vote in Iowa tomorrow night remotely. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing yet, but Jim Conduit is having another conference call tonight, beginning at 4:00 pm EST and will open the conference line every hour there after until midnight. Jim Conduit is doing this to ensure that NO VOTES are stolen from DR. PAUL He needs each and every one of us to work on this tomorrow!

Any word on getting the 175 precincts in NH to hand count the ballots at the precinct instead of sending them somewhere to be counted using an evil Diebold machine?
New Hampshire people take their voting and elections seriously. I would think they would demand to have their ballots hand counted at the precinct.

They aren't going to change the machines or the method 2 days before the caucus, it is too late for that. I'm wondering what the benefit of "vote observers" is when there is no way to observe an electronic device which has a secret program. They can do this right under our noses and there is nothing we can do about it. Then I guess all we can do is independently verify how many votes we had in the caucus and compare it with their reported number. How do we legitimately do an independent verification?

THE KEY POINT made in these videos, and what the hack proved irrefutably, is that the “memory” cards contain NOT ONLY VOTE DATA, but an EXECUTABLE FILE AS WELL!! This is what the hacker referred to as the “Mother of all security holes.” What it does is allow the vendor a means of manipulating the data as it is accumulated! This allows the vendor to sell not only the voting machines, but the election as well. Now remember that the vendor (in the videos above) lied about the existence of the executable file in the “memory” card! Can they be trusted with America’s future? the world's future? Ludicrous!
We must push for PAPER ballots HAND COUNTED!
Never mind what the chances of success are. That IS Plan A because it would occur BEFORE the damage is done.
Signing affidavits is also critical but is not the total solution, of course, because it suggests a legal battle; and the new “president” could invade 2 more countries before the legal case gets settled… And which "administration" would oversee the legal battle? Still, affidavits are a necessary component!
Once you've watched all 9 videos, we all need to:
1. Email ALL 50 governors (http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Governors.shtml) and demand that votes be counted BY HAND.
2. Send emails to everyone in congress (http://www.visi.com/juan/congress) and demand that all votes be COUNTED BY HAND.
3. Email all news organizations and demand that all votes be counted BY HAND.
4. Email all local election staff and demand that all votes be counted BY HAND.
5. Better yet, BECOME election staff and demand that all votes be counted BY HAND.

Vote fraud is a huge problem. I especially hope San Diego County is watched closely - since their top election official is taking legal action to try and prevent any manual audits of what the "electronic machines" (computers) say.... she was also involved in a previous voting scandal, btw.

What I was thinking. I agree putting out the results publicly prior to Old media reporting will only enhance everything we are trying to accomplish. Let's say RP only comes in 2nd or 3rd, this will not make us look like sore losers to publish the vote numbers immediately. Even though this is tough and scary I must admit I am really excited about Iowa's primaries!
