I don't understand the CFR or what its program is. I know that all the candidates are members except RP. Someone clue me in.

Basically...

We have a government with supposed checks and balances operated by politicians in a two party system who are elected into office by voters, right?

Now imagine if all the politicians are following orders from another third private party not elected by voters. This would subvert the democratic system, the whole checks and balances system and essentially make it meaningless, well not meaningless because it's a front to the voters, an illusion of checks and balances and a democratic system.

The Council on Foreign Relations is the private third party.

MAKING IT LOOK LIKE ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE IN SOCIETY WANT IT NEED IT ETC...

The CFR

Is an exclusive (by invitation only) club, a tool for business leaders to make their influence felt on government. It was created essentially by the same people who created the Federal Reserve banking system. One of its main functions is to keep the dirty secret that the Federal Reserve is a cooperative of private banks kept from the American people. If Americans really understood how this scam works, they would elect congressmen who would revoke the authorization for a central bank to control the currency (as Congress did twice in the 19th century), and the owners of the Fed would lose their biggest cash-cow.

After WWII three long-time CFR members (Allen Dulles, James Forestall and George Kennan) drafted plans and lobbied congress for the National Security Act of 1947, which authorized the establishment of the CIA. So, you can look at it like this - in 1913 bankers and industrialists set up the Federal Reserve, then in 1921 the same people set up the CFR to protect their scam and further sink their claws into the US government, then the CFR begot the CIA and got one of their own, Allen Dulles to run it. So now if US diplomacy failed to help them protect their global interests (as it happend when Mossadeq tried to nationalise Iranian oil in the early 50's, or when Arbenz tried to buy land back from United Fruit in Guatemala http://eatthestate.org/03-26/UnitedFruitCIA.htm , or when the same sort of thing occured in Indonesia or a dozen other places around the globe), then they'd just send in the CIA.

Most presidents and cabinet members beginning with Franklin Roosevelt have been CFR members. It is difficult to get anywhere in US politics without the blessing of the CFR, as Ron Paul is finding out.

The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Today no war has been declared--and however fierce the struggle may be, it may never be declared in the traditional fashion. Our way of life is under attack. Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe. The survival of our friends is in danger. And yet no war has been declared, no borders have been crossed by marching troops, no missiles have been fired.
If the press is awaiting a declaration of war before it imposes the self-discipline of combat conditions, then I can only say that no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent.
It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match.
Nevertheless, every democracy recognizes the necessary restraints of national security--and the question remains whether those restraints need to be more strictly observed if we are to oppose this kind of attack as well as outright invasion.
For the facts of the matter are that this nation's foes have openly boasted of acquiring through our newspapers information they would otherwise hire agents to acquire through theft, bribery or espionage; that details of this nation's covert preparations to counter the enemy's covert operations have been available to every newspaper reader, friend and foe alike; that the size, the strength, the location and the nature of our forces and weapons, and our plans and strategy for their use, have all been pinpointed in the press and other news media to a degree sufficient to satisfy any foreign power; and that, in at least in one case, the publication of details concerning a secret mechanism whereby satellites were followed required its alteration at the expense of considerable time and money.
The newspapers which printed these stories were loyal, patriotic, responsible and well-meaning. Had we been engaged in open warfare, they undoubtedly would not have published such items. But in the absence of open warfare, they recognized only the tests of journalism and not the tests of national security. And my question tonight is whether additional tests should not now be adopted.
The question is for you alone to answer. No public official should answer it for you. No governmental plan should impose its restraints against your will. But I would be failing in my duty to the nation, in considering all of the responsibilities that we now bear and all of the means at hand to meet those responsibilities, if I did not commend this problem to your attention, and urge its thoughtful consideration.
On many earlier occasions, I have said--and your newspapers have constantly said--that these are times that appeal to every citizen's sense of sacrifice and self-discipline. They call out to every citizen to weigh his rights and comforts against his obligations to the common good. I cannot now believe that those citizens who serve in the newspaper business consider themselves exempt from that appeal.
I have no intention of establishing a new Office of War Information to govern the flow of news. I am not suggesting any new forms of censorship or any new types of security classifications. I have no easy answer to the dilemma that I have posed, and would not seek to impose it if I had one. But I am asking the members of the newspaper profession and the industry in this country to reexamine their own responsibilities, to consider the degree and the nature of the present danger, and to heed the duty of self-restraint which that danger imposes upon us all.
Every newspaper now asks itself, with respect to every story: "Is it news?" All I suggest is that you add the question: "Is it in the interest of the national security?" And I hope that every group in America--unions and businessmen and public officials at every level-- will ask the same question of their endeavors, and subject their actions to the same exacting tests.
And should the press of America consider and recommend the voluntary assumption of specific new steps or machinery, I can assure you that we will cooperate whole-heartedly with those recommendations.

All these would seem to apply to the present situation. Another central factor operative throughout early modern and modern European history, however, seems to me little noted or discussed. Alliances and coalitions tend to break down when the hegemon, the leader, defects—that is, when that leader either wrecks the alliance or fails to sustain it. Such a efection by the coalition’s leader can take various forms: changing the purposes of the alliance from limited and mutually acceptable aims to aggressive or dangerous ones (Louis XIV), preventing the alliance from changing and adapting to the changing needs of its members (Prince Metternich), refusing to share responsibility and leadership with others, or refusing to redistribute burdens and benefits. The form of defection which I consider most common of all, however, arises from a simpler cause: distraction, neglect, indifference, lack of attention on the part of the head of the oalition, often due to an assumption by the leading power that the alliance itself and the international system to which it was connected did
not need its active support and management, but would sustain themselves and continue to operate through a kind of invisible hand. This, it seems to me, was the typical British approach to its role in the European system of states for most of the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Time and again, Great Britain led in winning wars and establishing peace— often at major cost and exertion—and then defected from the alliance and the system it had itself led in establishing. It justified this policy of defection on grounds of necessity and expediency. Britain’s constitution, its domestic political system, and its world-wide political and economic interests, British leaders claimed, ruled out a policy of active British intervention to manage the alliance. Moreover, the international system ought to survive and function on its own or by
means of the exertions of those most directly dependent on it. The codeword for this British policy was, “maintaining the balance of power.”
The United States was strongly attracted to and influenced by an even
stronger version of this kind of hands-off policy as it succeeded John Bull as world leader in the first half of the twentieth century. The question today, after the Cold War, is whether the United States will, like
Britain in the past, allow the system it has helped to create and is still leading lessons from history terrorism can the war on terrorism be a unifying purpose for the Western alliance?

to sink or swim essentially on its own. The early language of the Bush administration suggested that Washington might do so, but its most recent actions suggest the opposite. What policy will actually emerge is not yet clear. I can merely offer a few historical generalizations regarding alliances and alliance cohesion. The first is that durable coalitions demand constant engagement, steady leadership and management, especially from their leaders. Secondly, while balance-of-power politics might play an important role in the overall international system, it is less important for the internal workings of alliances and coalitions. Internally, alliances need to balance the interests, rights, responsibilities, obligations, performances and satisfactions of the various alliance members. Seeing to it that this balance is maintained is primarily the role of the hegemon. The third generalization is that, if a coalition is threatened by a loss of the unifying vision and purpose, it becomes the prime responsibility of the hegemon to meet the problem. Ideas and visions come from everywhere, but they can only inspire and unify the coalition if the leader shares and promotes them. This brings me to my last point: terrorism. The current American administration, with enthusiastic bipartisan and popular support, seems determined to make international terrorism the new unifying threat to the broad Western alliance. And it seems determined to make the war on terrorism the alliance’s unifying purpose and activity, taking precedence over all other aims and goals. I do not believe that this could or should work over the long term. There are various reasons for doubting the suitability of this purpose as the basis for new unity and cohesion in the alliance. First, to make the war on terrorism a common goal for the alliance, it would have to be clearly defined. What this means is that in every concrete instance international terrorism has to be distinguished from ordinary crime, revolutionary activity or even the fight for rights, freedom, and resistance to oppression. There is the further danger that the alleged common purpose of fighting terrorism will be manipulated and exploited for ends not shared by the alliance and harmful to its solidarity. More dangerous still is the high probability that actions undertaken as part of a joint war against terrorism, for example a pre-emptive war on Iraq, would impose greater dangers and costs on some, while promising disproportionate rewards to other members of the alliance. Historically, nothing has undermined alliances more than this perception.

The International Banking Community are behind the CFR

The CFR's goal is to undermine our sovereignty and all governments. By stealth they promote socialism and the New World Order (now called "Globalism") that George Bush Sr. Spoke of at the UN years ago.

The CFR was formed by the same people who installed the fraudulent Federal Reserve System (which is a private Corp. with a majority of foreign ownership). Secretive "round table" meeting were the beginnings of the CFR and the League of Nations later know as the UN connected and has been since it's formation. David Rockefeller (Former president/life member CFR) donated the land in NYC that the UN stands on today. It was formed in the 1920's (similar to the UN and FED) has received a media blackout of moves and it's existence for almost 50 years. All the MSM owners are members in the CFR or affiliates and they due their bidding first even above the interest of the US.

The Council has been the subject of many conspiracy theories, partly due to the number of high-ranking government officials in its membership, its secrecy clauses, and the large number of aspects of American foreign policy that its members have been involved with, beginning with Wilson's Fourteen Points. Many organizations, such as the John Birch Society, believe that the CFR plans a one-world government. Wilson's Fourteen Points speech was the first in which he suggested a worldwide security organization to prevent future world wars.[34]

Some believe that the CFR is working towards a North American Union, a joining of the three governments of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. They point to a CFR task force which was headed by professor Robert Pastor, head of North American Studies at American University, which produced a report called "Building a North American Community" on cooperation within North America. Pastor authored a 2001 book, Towards a North American Community: Lessons from the Old World for the New. Plans allegedly center on a 10-lane superhighway which would run from Mexico to Canada.[35]

Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Bohigian says that there is no truth to the rumors.[citation needed] Senator Kit Bond, who is a member of committees that would have to authorize funding for a NAFTA superhighway, has said that there are no plans for a North American Union and the theories are not valid.[36] However, Rep. Ron Paul has said that Congress has provided "small amounts" of money to study the feasibility of such a highway. Paul also suggested that because the funding constituted "just one item in an enormous transportation appropriations bill... most members of Congress were not aware of it."[3] Rep. Virgil Goode introduced a resolution, with 21 co-sponsors, to prohibit the building of a NAFTA superhighway and an eventual North American Union with Canada and Mexico. The resolution was sent to committee.[4]

In 2005, CFR task force co-chairman Pastor testified in Congress in front of the Foreign Relations Committee: "The best way to secure the United States today is not at our two borders with Mexico and Canada, but at the borders of North America as a whole."[37] The CFR task force he headed called for one border around North America, freer travel within it, and cooperation among Canadian, Mexican and American military forces and law enforcement for greater security. It called for full mobility of labor among the three countries within five years, similar to the European Union.[5] He also appeared at a CFR forum called "The Future of North American Integration in the Wake of the Terrorist Attacks" on October 17, 2001, discussing the prospect of North American integration in the wake of the September 11 attacks.[38] Conservative commentator Phyllis Schlafly wrote of the 2005 report, "This CFR document, called 'Building a North American Community,' asserts that George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin 'committed their governments' to this goal when they met at Bush's ranch and at Waco, Texas on March 23, 2005. The three adopted the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America and assigned 'working groups' to fill in the details."[39] The document advocated allowing companies to recruit workers from anywhere within North America and called for large loans and aid to Mexico from the US. It called for a court system for North American dispute resolution and said that illegal aliens should be allowed into the United States Social Security system through the Social Security Totalization Agreement. The report called for a fund to be created by the US to allow 60,000 Mexican students to attend US colleges. The report says the plan can be carried out within five years. Other members of the task force included former Massachusetts governor William Weld and immigration chief for President Clinton, Doris Meissner.

Pastor wrote in Foreign Affairs:

"The U.S., Mexican, and Canadian governments remain zealous defenders of an outdated conception of sovereignty even though their citizens are ready for a new approach. Each nation's leadership has stressed differences rather than common interests. North America needs leaders who can articulate and pursue a broader vision... Countries are benefited when they changed these [national sovereignty] policies, and evidence suggests that North Americans are ready for a new relationship that renders this old definition of sovereignty obsolete."[40]
Pastor appeared at a CFR-sponsored symposium at Arizona State University on issues that would face the next president.[41

Not All Are -- Some Are

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the American version of the Royal Institute for International Affairs (RIAA) based in London. Its goal is the transformation of the current system of nation-states into a single, world-wide government, ostensibly in order to accomplish other goals. This necessarily involves the elimination of American sovereignty through various treaties, usually involving the creation of some international organization such as the UN or NATO. The current emphasis seems to be on the establishing of regional governments such as the European Union and the proposed North American Union.

The CFR was started in 1921 after Edward Mandell House, a very influential adviser to President Woodrow Wilson, saw his original designs for world government frustrated by the United States Senate. The CFR was to work toward the establishment of a more powerful successor to the old League of Nations. Its membership is tiny (only a few thousand members) and by invitation only, but a huge percentage of its members hold key posts in the United States Government. Every president since FDR has loaded up his cabinet with CFR members, and many presidents themselves have been members (Bill Clinton, for instance).

CFR positions are supposedly those of the individuals who belong to it. However, it is interesting to see just how many of those positions actually wind up becoming official policy in the not-too-distant future.

U.S. Admiral Chester Ward joined the CFR but later resigned after he became disgusted with it over what he considered its subversive aims.

Talk about the CFR and you will likely be derided as a conspiracy nut. But the CFR fits the classic definition of a conspiracy very well. If you ignore the ad hominem attacks and look at the hard evidence, it should become obvious that the CFR is part of a conspiracy to replace a sovereign America with a world government.

Fortunately, all conspiracies can be defeated by being exposed. One of Dr. Paul's great contributions is to shine the light of truth on the CFR and related organizations like the Federal Reserve so that the people themselves can see what is going on and take appropriate action. In this regard, I would highly recommend going to the New American web site or to www.jbs.org and looking over their materials.
