Iowa State Daily: Ron Paul on the economy, military spending and gay rights

The fourth part is out, Everybody!

Once more, I thank you all for the continued support regarding my series. Again, I cannot stress enough that I invite you to give me feedback if you think I've made any errors. I cannot do a better job if I don't know what I've done wrong. There is one article left, so I've still got an easy opportunity to make any corrections. So please, if there's any criticisms, send them my way and we'll see what we can do about it. My e-mail address is at the bottom here.

As always, please don't forget to comment on the article on the Daily's page, Facebook recommend it, and of course, re-tweet it. If someone could post it on main page here on The Daily Paul once again like the last few weeks, that'd be great. As I've mentioned before, traffic, comments, Facebook and Twitter activity all constitute measurements of success for today's editors. I've been fighting a battle to maintain the series (which is another story unto itself), so the more activity there is, the better my case looks. Like it or hate it, success is leverage and like any good businessman, editors will usually err on the side of what gets attention.

Look for the next and final installment next Wednesday!

Thanks again,

Thank you for doing this!!

spot on

I was in the military before “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was repealed, and I can tell you that young troops right out of high school who are still dating, or troops who marry too young, are the source of many issues which consume a lot of a junior commander’s time, and this periodically results in situations that are “prejudicial to the good order and discipline of the armed forces.” One Commandant of the Marine Corps even attempted (unsuccessfully) to prevent Marines from getting married during their first enlistment largely because of such matters. I didn’t agree with the Commandant’s approach, but I understood where he was coming from.

I am not able to compare how these issues are measured against incidents involving gay service members, but after reading Air Force veteran Ron Paul’s entire quote (not just the intentionally inflammatory headline), he is absolutely spot on about the periodic “disruption” associated with just heterosexual troops. Anyone who has been in a command or leadership role in the military for less than a year would tell you the same.

Paul ante portas.

on twitter. I like the fact that Ron Paul views EVERYBODY as an individual and not part of a group...
