Dr. Paul's Appearance on Special Report (10/26/11) Frustrating, Yet FruitfulSubmitted by pjkeag on Wed, 10/26/2011 - 19:40
Dr. Paul just appeared on Fox's Special Report as a guest in the center seat. After watching Dr. Paul in the center seat, I felt as though he did not present himself well in regards to the fence questions and it will probably hurt him when it comes to those who are too ignorant to get what he's actually saying. However, I think he did much better online and the panel warmed up to him. At least Dr. Paul is honest about his problem with delivery, but this problem is not necessarily his flaw, I do believe much of it has to do with the way questions are framed and the abilities Dr. Paul believes the "average" viewer has to comprehend an answer after the "witness" has been led.
It was interesting to see Fox defending their coverage of Dr. Paul as well. Anderson Cooper did this last week and both of them used number of appearances as a "Hey, look, dude, we're fair to you. Look how many times we've had you on." I believe what most of us complain about is not the quantity of coverage, but the quality. While he may have appeared numerous times, if he is unable to articulate his views when being interviewed, that's correctly frowned upon by his supporters and is, quite often, exactly the case. The "journalist" will distort his view and, then, ask him to explain the distortion. When Dr. Paul tries to clear up the distortion, the "journalist" will interrupt him with the distortion once more until the uninformed viewer is left with the impression that the distortion is actually what Ron Paul believes. Charles is a master at this and the guy to the left (total tool, in my opinion) is doing well in his apprenticeship. The point I'm making, I guess, is that we see idol worship all the time with these channels and their "front-runners" and they usually conduct interviews with them that are much more fair and balanced than with Dr. Paul.
I know I'm preaching to the choir, here, but "let not your heart be troubled," friends, the message is spreading despite their distortions, dismissals, and denial. People are waking up and all of you, through your efforts, monetarily or otherwise, have helped to wake many, many Americans from their slumber. People like you introduced me to Ron Paul in 2007 and I haven't been the same since.
