Was just on NPR's On Point talking about free markets.Submitted by knollgrass on Thu, 10/27/2011 - 11:25
This morning they were talking about population growth and planetary sustainability. It was a great opportunity to plug the importance of free markets to achieve economic prosperity around the world and I used examples of the free market such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai. I said the only true path to prosperity is through the free markets.
I also had the chance to talk about sustainable grid energy cheaper than coal from Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors (LFTR's) a proliferation free, practically limitless nuclear energy technology pioneered in the US at Oak Ridge National Laboratories in Tenn. (they shelved it because it couldn't make bombs for the cold war).
I wish I had enough time to plug the Free Cities Project but I didn't have time. I would suggest checking out both the Free Cities Project and Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors here are some links. 'Like' their Facebook pages!
For the LFTR stuff check out:
You can watch the whole thing but the basic info is in the first 5 min. BTW awesome info!
