I know exactly why guns are popular look at the trend of peoples distrust in the government it is inversely proportional to the low numbers on gun control. I am a big supporter of people having guns I think the more people to have guns the safer everyone is.

People are realizing our country is in dire straits.

With the current economic and political situation it is obvious we are in the midst of radical change. Society can break down quickly, as seen throughout history. The ability to feed and protect oneself may become necessary.

Crisis periods can't be ignored, and we certainly are in a crisis period, beginning with the top of the real estate market. Fear is at an elevated level.

I think that people are rediscovering the real purpose for the 2nd amendment, and it does not have much to do with hunting or target practice. It has to do with defense against private crime and government tyranny.
