a friend of mine who had never heard of Ron Paul...

until I introduced him to him was talking...he went on for a few minutes about how our government is so bad and nobody will do this and nobody will do that

i had the dailypaul site on my computer screen, i said, "except him, he says EVERYTHING you just said you sound like him"!

my friend, casually, pursing his lips in a "blehh" way says, "oh, yeah, well, him, he does"

"Oh yeah, him"? I ask. Him? It was almost like a guy literally waking up to get out of bed! You could just "see" the light go off in his head. Yeah, him!

he's in the Camp!

onward, my friends! marching towards the convention

WE, the people WILL OCCUPY the gop convention!

Foreign Policy

On Congressman Ron Paul's Foreign Policy of Non-Interventionism. Non-interventionism is *NOT* isolationism. This article is about why friendship and detente is the best policy (morally and pragmatically) in foreign affairs, esp. with Iran.

http://www.blazingtruth.com/foreign-policy

Let's honor our troops by ending America's military-industrial complex, and bring the brave men and women home. Happy Veterans' Day!

So I sent this video out to some family...

...and this is one of the ridiculous responses I got:

"Hello, We are now in a global market and there is more involved than just war in the world on foreign policy...If we pulled out totally and were in isolation it would not work...given that we do not manufacture enough products needed to exist...etc...

"A global world market and post 911 world is what we now have and Ron Paul need to be more realistic about other things beside the wars...Given, they are very important & telling other countries how to run their government is a big mistake...

"RON NEEDS TO LOOK AT HISTORY MORE & MUST BE REALISTIC .....THAT OUR ECONOMY IS NOT SELF SUFFICIENT ANY MORE AND A CHANGE CANNOT AUTOMATICALLY HAPPEN WHEN PULLING OUT OF THE WORLD ECONOMY. Many people are in agreement about this issue and will not vote for him because he is not realistic and is too far out there..."

There are so many uninformed and ridiculous presumptions in the response, that I don't even know where to begin. I could easily see myself having to write 5-10 times as much verbiage just to educate about the truth and the debunk the underpinnings of this crap. :^/

Unfortunately, as I have found out, it is much more difficult to change the mind of a family member than it is the mind of a complete stranger.

ask them this simple question...

"Who are you trying to convince that what you say is correct? Me, or you?

They are waking up, they KNOW something is wrong. Tell them, I know you KNOW something is wrong. You are looking for the answers. Keep digging and, when you are ready, we will be here waiting for you."

That is a powerful image for an intellect to have to deal with. Being left behind, that is.

Its matter-of-factly now. The steam roller is rolling, the train is moving. Don't be left behind. Stand up and do something to save your country!

This is what I say. It works for me. It will work for you.

A Prophet

A Prophet is not welcome in his home town...

not to hate.... but your family is pretty stupid.

"A CHANGE CANNOT AUTOMATICALLY HAPPEN WHEN PULLING OUT OF THE WORLD ECONOMY"

WTF does not bombing people have to do with 'THE WORLD ECONOMY'? Seriously... WTF.

How the hell do you conflate "lets not bomb people" with 'NO TRADE WITH ANYONE!!!' Just because Paul doesn't want to engage every god damned 3rd world hell hole with our army, navy, and air force doesn't mean he doesn't want to engage them economically. He's like the most free trade (actual free trade no the bs we have currently) candidate we've had in decades.

ecorob's picture

they are NOT stupid, dlind...

they are waking up!

they are a little groggy from the mind control and manipulation but they are, in fact, waking up!

asking questions is the first step into becoming "enlightened"

so, lets not categorize them as stupid and alienate them to our cause even further, lets don't make them sleep any longer by saying, "go back to sleep, stupid"

instead, give them a little tea this morning and welcome them to the rloveution!!

:) stupidity is relative...

perhaps 'information deficient' or poorly educated on the basics of logic and/or the English language would have been a more apt description.

PS. To put the term stupidity in context-- I freely admit that I myself am quite stupid at times.

I may be putting words in

I may be putting words in their mouth (seeing how they aren't very detailed in their explanations, so I resort to assumptions), but it seems that they want to force other people/nations to buy our American products through the barrel of a gun?

Too what...unrealistic and far out?

Nothing can be further from the truth. I don't argue that the MSM might portray Ron Paul in the manner in which you describe. He has been advocating a policy of nonintervention. Please do your homework to know the difference is between isolationism and nonintervention.

Here is your homework assignment:

I hope this will clear up any delusions you may be having about Ron Paul supporting in any way isolationism for this country.

and then you die

Just to clarify

The attacks on Ron Paul from my post are quoted from an email response back to me. They are not my words. And I certainly don't agree with them.

"Isolation"

Good grief! Who is more supportive of U.S. involvement in the world economy than Ron Paul? When has he ever said the U.S. should produce everything it needs?

I like Ron Paul especially on

I like Ron Paul especially on foreign policy. I have some significant disagreements with Ron Paul on other issues but on foreign policy Ron Paul gets an A+. The average federal politician gets a D.

Nailed it! This is a good

Nailed it! This is a good one to send to friends and family that don't yet support Ron Paul.

clear and important

one of the better Jack Hunter pieces

If you could vote A, B, C, or D, which would you vote for?

A) Yes/No? --SPEND $5 trillion Afghanistan War - Kill 1,000,000 Afghans, lose 3,000 US soldiers, temporarily defeat the Taliban, Install an American President, build a dozen secret prisons, and stay for 10 years.

B) Yes/No? --SPEND $3 trillion Iraq War -- Kill 1,000,000 Iraqis, kill Saddam Husian, loose 4,000 US Soldiers, temporarily install a Pro American Iraqi government, build biggest US Embassy in the world, and stay for 8 years.

C) Yes/No? --Spend $900 Billion with NATO to topple Libya -- Kill $10,000 Libyans, kill Qaddafi, loose 65 US soldiers, destroy much of the cities infrastructure for water, sewer, electric and many buildings, and do not stay.

D) Yes/No? --SPEND just $10 Million in good old detective work and use Special Opps Navy Seals to find and kill Osama Bin Laden, loose 28 troops, and leave Pakistan.

Which plan would YOU vote for?

* Your Government in Washington under both Bush & Obama voted for "All of the Above". Do you think any of that was "wasteful spending?"

Facts only get in the way of selling war.

The masters of war at the Pentagon and the military industrial complex have nice cushy high paying jobs as long as they can keep the fear meter on high. The media plays along to get along with the devil.

http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opinion/2011/08/2011821...

You get different facts from different media constructs to support whatever they are trying to portray.

One fact is that loose is not

One fact is that loose is not the word you are looking for in the first paragraph. Loose is let go or roomy..the opposite of tight..I think you meant lose..like in can't find.

Psychology behind the title...Mission Accomplished.

I work with the media quite a bit, and this is actually a well-used technique to "lure" people into reading your article.

Consider Ron Paul supporters: Mr. Hunter KNOWS that the very title alone will have people from our camp flocking to see/hear what he said regarding our candidate. Mission Accomplished.

Consider those who "like" Ron Paul "but...": They'll read this too given he probably, in his title, listed one of their major contentions with Ron Paul which (obviously) he turns on its head in his piece. But they still read/listened to it. Again, Mission Accomplished.

Consider those who do NOT like Ron Paul: They'll read/listen to this thinking "Ah ha! Someone else that agrees with us that Ron Paul's foreign policy is abhorrent!" So they listen and are fed their moment of "Gotcha!" But they still read/listened to it. Final Mission Accomplished.

All this told me is that Mr. Hunter (a) likes Ron Paul and (b) is a very effective and crafty journalist. Mission Accomplished :-)

Um, you do know that Jack

Um, you do know that Jack Hunter is the official blogger for the Ron Paul campaign, right?

This was great

I really think that Jack does a great job. This is something which we hear from people all of the time. Yet the very same people who say they do not like Paul's foreign policy are the same ones who side with him on his opinion about Libya! It has become an absolute circus...

So, this is very good because although I realized this I never made the idea clear in my mind. The new wars compared to the old wars with a touch of analyzing public opinion trends concerning those wars, reveals a level of hypocrisy in America that is literally psychopathic.

And now we will probably be in Libya for many years to come.

I think Jack's awesome, too.

I think Jack's awesome, too. I wish the campaign would promote him more than just on the website, he's very solid and insightful. You can tell he's well researched, on par with Tom Woods.

I'll be sending this around to a number of friends

who say exactly the same thing.

As I said to Rand in Vermont about 4 years ago "you're a really good speaker, better than your Dad, you should run for office" (response: "My Mom would kill me!") I say the same thing now to Jack - you really should run for office assuming you are as good off the cuff as you are in your videos and columns.

Which means that for the past

Which means that for the past decades since WWII be it DEMS or GOPS they are all pro war, pro intervention and SNAFU foreign policy in all different flavors which cost a lot of money, a lot of lives and a lot of divisions in opinions. But the clarity that Ron Paul gives seems to annoy DEMS and GOPS becuase here is the one who understand it all. Who is consistent all the way. They cant shake up Ron Paul and they knew it. Which means overall if we just take into account the wisdom of Paul all the killings, lives lost and money burned were all saved. Too bad it is just now we are slowly waking up for the truth.

Another essential vid from Jack Hunter.

This sums it up exceptionally well for many of the brain dead, uninformed current GOP voters.

Frequently Jack H's excellent video-blogs disappear from

the active forum list within several minutes.

But for this one Libertypulse's clever title seems to be causing some confusions & stirs: good! Go watch the actual thoughtful video.

Jack H is giving a great case against MANY mindless so-called conservative republicans who say "I like RP, but for his Foreign Policy". I didn't realize how Palin spoke up forcefully FOR Ron's consistent anti-mindless-rush-to-wars / pro-constitutional-careful-approach-to-entering-wars stance.
