I am ready to smash my laptop.

My ancient laptop, connected to the internet via Sprint 3G/4G wireless modem (at home it's usually 3G) has gotten to the point that 15 minutes are required to watch a 5 minute You Tube. I use firefox and Avast. I have regularly updated both as recommended by the manufacturers. Am I the only one? Is it the nature of my internet connection? In the past I could stream entire feature length movies without interruption.

HELP. I am already losing my hair in a natural fashion, so the handfuls that You Tube causes me to pull is not helping matters.
