U.S. Planning Troop Buildup in Gulf After Exit From Iraq

MacDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — The Obama administration plans to bolster the American military presence in the Persian Gulf after it withdraws the remaining troops from Iraq this year, according to officials and diplomats. That repositioning could include new combat forces in Kuwait able to respond to a collapse of security in Iraq or a military confrontation with Iran.

They didn't do that just as a preliminary for establishing peace.

That's right, our Nobel Peace Prize winning president hasn't satisfied his bloodthirst yet!

After his request to keep the troops in Iraq even longer was denied by the Iraqi government, he decided to tell everyone that it was his true intention to withdraw all along.

He's not exactly bringing them home, hes sending them to the Persian Gulf, to stage them for another war!

Couple that with this news: US Troops Massing on Afghanistan-Pakistan Border http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/afghanistan/8...

"U.S." Planning? "W.H." Planning? How about OBAMA Planning?

I know that he's just the puppet for the military-industrial complex. However, he should be the "slam-man" in this case.

W.H. plans increased military presence in Gulf
October 30, 2011 10:06 AM

After announcing this month the complete drawdown from troops in Iraq by the end of the year, the Pentagon is planning to increase its military presence in the Persian Gulf region, the New York Times reports.

According to the Times, the move - which could result in the addition of combat forces in Kuwait and naval warships in the region's international waters - means to protect U.S. interests in the region in the event of a security conflict in Iraq or Iran.

The plans come in the wake of criticism that the Obama administration's decision to withdraw from Iraq fully despite concerns that doing so could lead to instability in the region.

Don't worry. Halliburton is

Don't worry. Halliburton is not going to lose out on this boondoggle. Obama is on board to keep raping the taxpayers to pay for these unneeded, undeclared wars.

Obama was unwilling to serve, but he has no problem committing others to undeclared wars that serve no real purpose other than to enrich his friends. And all of the Republican candidates are on board too, except Ron Paul. And that's the real reason that Ron Paul is ignored or ridiculed. Too much money is at stake. Ron Paul threatens to put an end to the stealing, No more bailouts, no more undeclared wars, no more inflation.

Is it any wonder that the media, who are in bed with the defense contractors and the politicians, do everything in their power to marginalize Ron Paul?

Occupy Wall Street demands 1% financial transfer tax

Occupy Wall Street is now demanding a 1% financial tranfer tax (sales tax) on purchases of stocks, bonds and derivatives. Ron Paul must support this tax. Not all taxes are bad. This tax targets the right group, international bankers and financial speculators - not "capitalists" or "rich people", but these giant international Ponzi scheme operators whose activity has wrecked our economy and sent our jobs overseas. There are currently over 2 quadrillion dollars a year in financial turnover, most of which involves ridiculously leveraged derivatives - credit default swaps and collateralized debt obligations. This would theoretically put 200 trillion dollars a year into the coffers of national governments, especially the United States. Then other taxes, such as the income tax, could indeed be drastically lowered or eliminated as Ron Paul wants, and there would be no need to cut government entitlements such as social security. Combine this fiscal policy with ending the spending of 1 trillion on wars and weapons and military bases, bring the troops home like after WWII, and we will see the biggest economic boom in history.

Why would you want to give

Why would you want to give our corporate-controlled government more money?!?!?!

I say starve the beast. No taxes. Let EVERYBODY keep their own money and spend it as they see fit.

Anthony, your wish to tax the "bad guys"

and give to the deserving "good guys" has been the excuse used for centuries, inevitably resulting in unintended bad consequences.
One, it means basing social policy on coercion which opens the door ever wider to that same power making endless mischief -- such as wars and police states.

Two, you can't create a society of good will and peace by using force. It simply perpetuates the system of war by all against all as every person or group fights to get power to coerce the others into submission to its policies. The financial institutions ripping us off are creatures of government monetary policy making sound investments impossible. Government Ponzi schemes breed monsters.

Three, prosperity is in direct correlation to economic freedom. Look at the history of centralized economies: dismal to worse -- starvation of millions. Contrast the history of the freest economies; innovation, progress, rising standard of living and widening prosperity.

There are no short cuts to economic prosperity. It takes a climate of freedom to act without oppressive regulation, a stable economy allowing planning ahead and accumulation of savings without fear of confiscation or monetary debasement.
Whips have never worked.

OWS is a reactionary group to our foreign and domestic policy.

They are not elected representatives of 100% of the people.
NYC has over 8 million people. If 80 thousand people congregated to occupy wall street it would be only 1% of the cities people. The NYPD's current authorized uniformed armed strength is about 34,500.

A significant number of the people camping out in lower Manhattan in reality do not live in NYC and have no notion of the disruption they are causing for residents that pay taxes to support the above mentioned police.

What do they want? More entitlements? Yes, many do. Jobs? Yea, of course. A lot of attention? A Socialistic form of government and an end to capitalism and free markets? Wait a minute! Just who is running the movement!

A strong argument can be that OWS is a misguided response to the Ron Paul political movement.

Go Ron Paul 2012! Spread the word.

and then you die

um no. A 1% tax is still a

um no. A 1% tax is still a tax, even on people who don't do this for a living. Middle class america does stocks and bonds too. To take away a whole 1% is a lot in the amount of volume they do.

For one thing,

"Occupy Wall Street" isn't demanding any such thing. Just who is it that's doing this "demanding," anyway? There are almost as many "demands" as there are people protesting. For another, Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase and he's not about to start now. You won't convince him, Congress has not been able to convince him to, and even if the rest of us wanted to, WE wouldn't be able to convince him to. Fugeddaboutit.

here' s the rub,

OWS wants to take a system based on an immoral principle and regulate it into an altruistic one.
We want to end the immoral system.
