The Ron Paul 2012 "Phone from Home" program is looking to get energized.

And with that said:

The first round of our weekly Phone from Home Competitions will conclude next Friday!

Each week, we will be holding Phone from Home Fridays, a time when you, the crucial caller, will find out who our top 10 callers are that week.

Our first competition starts this Friday, October 21, 2011. Our top 10 contestants will be awarded with prizes!

The top 3 callers will receive a book by Ron Paul. The remaining top callers will receive a Ron Paul T-shirt! The top caller will also get a special bonus prize!

What is the bonus prize? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

But at the moment, many of you haven’t yet set up an account.

You see, we need every caller on board for this push to help win New Hampshire.

If you have questions about how the program works, please read this FAQ: http://phone.ronpaul2012..... For any other questions, please call Volunteer HQ at (703) 398-1316.

The fact is, this is a numbers game.

That means even though not everyone will pick up the phone when you call, every call you make is another potential Ron Paul voter.

So please, set up your account now and start calling.

And if you have an existing account, log in at phone.ronpaul2012.com and start calling once again.

Ron Paul really needs you to start calling right away.

Since New Hampshire is on the East Coast, we need the majority of calls to be made from 6-9pm eastern.

Those are the hours with the highest response rate when we call.

And don’t worry about calling outside permitted calling hours, as our system will not allow calls after 9 pm local time (for the state we are calling into).

By setting up your account now and making some calls, you will be ready for our rewards program, which will be announced soon.

And keep in mind that whenever you receive an email from sender Ron Paul 2012 Volunteer, it is for you.

As a volunteer, those emails will contain things you can do for Dr. Paul. Please open and read every one of them so you don’t miss any important information.

So long for now. I have calls to make because there is more work to do!

Bump! Am I the only one doing

Bump!

Am I the only one doing this? It's a real shame if we're not taking advantage of this great program. I think people should be posting about their experiences, talking strategy, etc. This really needs to be a better organized/advertised program. The only chance Ron Paul has to win this thing is for us to directly engage the voters in conversation and convince them that Ron Paul is the only choice.

Mods?

Should this not remain on the front page like the fed audit bill activism before the campaign season started?

Thanks

I made calls for about 2

I made calls for about 2 hours last night and only a handful of people answered and it was a bit tough getting them to take the survey, but after I started telling them that it only took 2 minutes (this wasn't in the script), people were more receptive. I ended up getting 6 people to complete the survey which is 4 questions long.

Who is your first choice?

2nd choice?

Most important issue?

2nd most important issue?

Of the 6 people who completed the survey, 2 had Newt Gingrich as their 1st choice, 2 had Cain, 1 had Romney and 1 was undecided. Their 2nd choices were: 2 for Romney, 1 for Cain, 1 for Ron Paul and 1 undecided (only 5 responses here because if they said undecided for their first choice, the survey skipped to question #3).

What was encouraging to me was that when it came to the most important issue question, almost everyone said that the two most important issues to them were cutting taxes and spending and lowering the national debt. Other issues of importance were ability to beat Obama and ending the war.

This obviously gave me an incredible chance to pitch Dr. Paul and how he is the only one with a plan to cut $1 trillion in one year and balance the budget in 3, to talk about how well he polls against Obama, and how he is the only candidate who wants to change foreign policy.

The people who I spoke with all seemed very receptive to that message and said that they would take a closer look at Ron Paul.

This program is CRUCIAL as most of these people answering the phones are older people who get their info from Fox and who do not have a realistic view of the candidates and where they stand on the issues. We are the only ones who can educate them and we have about 2 months or so to do that.

I urge everyone to sign up for this program and start making calls today. It might be a bit nerve wracking at first, but the campaign did a TREMENDOUS job getting these lists of people and great technology in place to make it as simple as possible, and after a few calls the nervousness goes away.

I only had one negative response from some old sounding dude who immediately asked who I was volunteering for and when I said Ron Paul, he said "He has no chance and he's nuttier than a fruitcake" before hanging up. That's what people tend to do when they have nothing to back up their statements. I just laughed and moved on.

Good luck everyone! Let's get this done for liberty.

From Democratic National Committee (DNC) Don't Wait!

Friend --

One year from this Sunday, Americans will be going to the polls to decide where they want this country to go in the next four years. If we want our friends and neighbors to make the right choice one year from now, we need to decide today to get involved.

We all know that to win on November 6th, 2012, we need to build this campaign now. We need to register voters, knock on doors, talk to our neighbors about the President's goals and accomplishments, and lay the groundwork for the year to come.

That's why the 2012 campaign is asking people to commit to volunteer in the months to come. Democrats across the country are jumping in to be a part of it. We only have twelve months left to build this organization -- what happens next November depends on the work we do now.

Will you commit today to volunteer for 2012?

No matter who our Republican opponent ends up being, the only way we will win is by being stronger, smarter, and more organized than the other side. When you commit to volunteer for 2012, you're taking ownership of the reality we'll all face the day after the election.

This campaign may be won on November 6th, but the real work will happen every single day between now and then. Pledge to make phone calls this weekend, go canvassing this spring, or take on a leadership role in your community.

In a little more than a year, we'll all be doing one of two things. We'll be celebrating the President's re-election, and the chance to keep moving this country forward. Or we'll be wondering what more we could have done.

I don't plan on having any regrets, and neither should you. Say you're ready for this fight and commit to volunteer in 2012:

Ron Paul Is not driving politics. We the poeple are!

Ron Paul has not changed politics. We have embraced what Ron Paul and Liberty gives or can provide. We as supporters of liberty are driving this election cycle and ( If you are paying attention) we are driving the political discussion even though others are giving lip service to it!

hope for the best

I'm going to start making

I'm going to start making calls into New Hampshire tomorrow. Let's do this! We are the only ones who can make this happen.

Don't get discouraged!

Hey
I've been calling since after work and although I've run into a ton of voicemails, wrong numbers, etc. it's still fun to call and actually ask people the poll questions. Of the 5-6 people who completed the entire poll I had like 3 people with Ron Paul as first choice and 2 with his as their second choice.
I love being able to do my part while at home!
Keep it up!

Awesome

I have had alot of voicemails left. The calls that did answer, were undecided, not right now, um, well, um I guess Cain, well I don't know, Romney. No conviction.Just so sad and very uninformed. Made me want to cry for the complacency. I feel like we are on a sinking ship with 1,000's of people and we are the 5-6 % that know it is going down. The others either have no clue or just plain do not care. It makes me sad and I for one personally would lay my life down for Ron Paul.

I've been trying to stay

I've been trying to stay objective because it's a Poll and I'm not necessarily trying to convince anyone of our views. But I do wince when they say Romney or Cain.
When I revealed at the end to a lady in NH that this was from the Ron Paul 2012 Campaign the lady groaned as if I was crazy. haha Sadly she probably has no clue who he really is.

I know that is so challenging, when they say

cutting taxes or spending
bringing down the debt
stopping the war

I so badly want to talk to them. It is tough. A lot of times i will say, I hear you there, or I couldn't agree more. Then when I say Ron Paul it is funny, they sort of act surprised. I have not had anyone say anything negative yet. Some have been a little....um....well...um...ignorant to the facts. They are definetely not sure about their candidate and truly if we could get CNN and FOX and MSNBC to all do some stories apologizing that would cinch the man, then again all of his supporters might get a little suspicious. However, we can all pray for a miracle. Head lines could read: We were all wrong here at Fox News and we would like to give our most sincere apology to our failed reporting on this man's Presidential Run,Dr. Ron Paul. We were condescending and brass and sometimes outright rude. We hope you will forgive us and except our blessing and our endorsement for President in 2012.

This could go everywhere and just replace "FOX" with each and every other news station. The entire public would jump on the bandwagon without researching him. We would be making our calls and we would here...um...well...I guess Ron Paul.

It is fantastic that Ron Paul is getting support and people

have signed up for this. I posted this info, I don't know about two weeks ago and it barely got a bump. Please start listening to each other. I have been clling on this already. We need to listen to the true supporters of good ideas to get Ron elected, and ignore those that are putting negative things on here. Maybe a reminder or two of why we are here is good, but we need to have him become the nominee.

You think conservatives will jump at each new thing?

I am glad you persevered.

Calling From The West Coast

It's about 2:30 here, so most of the calls I made, I got voice mails. I left a message. One young man answered, said his mom wasn't home yet. So I told him we'd call back later. I'm going to have to quit for now and try later about 3 or 4.

Being that shy introvert that I can be, after 10 voice mails, I began to warm up to the system and not feeling like I'm a robot calling people.

Come on people, we can do this!

By the way, I was connected to numbers in NH, not Iowa.

Very Frustrating

Early this morning (6:00 AM Pacific), I saw Dr. Paul's video and answered the call to make phone calls to Iowa on his behalf by signing up. After I registered and it got to the place where I could receive instructions on how to get started, I got this message:

"Sorry, it is not a good time for calls.
We don't make calls on Sunday and we don't make calls between 8:55pm and 10:30am Eastern Time during the rest of the week. Please come back later and thanks for volunteering. Paid for by Ron Paul Presidential Campaign Committee www.ronpaul2012.com"

So today, awhile ago actually, I tried to get started again and got this message:

"Unfortunatelly we don't support Microsoft Internet Explorer. Please donwload Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome System. Paid for by Ron Paul Presidential Campaign Committee
www.ronpaul2012.com"

So guess what I did? Yep, I downloaded Firefox, and once again, tried to get started making calls to Iowa for Dr. Paul. And then guess what happened? Yep, I got the exact same message again...after I had already downloaded one of the two programs indicated (Firefox). Furthermore, no matter what I try to do, I continue to get them. I have called and left two messages with the campaign asking for help, to no avail.

So here I am...reaching out to DPers asking for some help or advice or assistance in getting this problem resolved so that I can start trying to help Dr. Paul win Iowa.

I'll tell you what...most people coming up against a string of barriers like this would just give up and say "forget it". This has to be corrected. It can't be this difficult for people to answer Dr. Paul's call for help, or many who are far less tenacious than me will simply give up. In fact, how many do we know have already done just that? We cannot afford to lose even one volunteer. Iowa is CRUCIAL. If he takes it (wins it), he could ride that wave of momentum all the way to the nomination. Please write back and help me out here...because this is really getting very frustrating.

Sorry you've been having trouble getting signed up to help. I was able to do it within just a couple minutes first shot so I hope that this isn't a widespread issue.

So these calls on this program are actually to NH, not Iowa. The calling time restrictions are so you don't call people too early in the morning or too late at night. Just imagine if you got a wake up call from someone that was asking a survey and then you close with the Ron Paul closing, wouldn't be very beneficial for our guy.

You need to just go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download 7.0.1, after you download just make sure it's up to date. Firefox will save as an icon on your desktop, just open up Firefox, put in the phone from home program url and then sign up. I think they send you a confirmation email but I can't remember, make sure to check. Once that's done you should be in business, hope that helps.

Thank You Everyone! It Worked!

Sorry I haven't got back on here sooner to thank everyone for your suggestions on how to get going making calls for Dr. Paul. A special thanks to you jeffforpaul. I tried your suggestion and it worked....I needed to go through the icon on my desktop to get to the system on the Phone From Home program, rather than trying to go directly to the program.

I have started calling and will admit to you that it was a little scary at first, but within a few minutes I was getting the hang of it and actually starting to enjoy it. I just talk to these people like they're my friends and family and neighbors and I actually had one man say, "I hate polls, but I swear you were so cheerful I found myself wanting to answer your questions!" Well, guess what happened when I asked him who he would vote for if the caucus was today? After a long (really long) pause from him, during which I was silently saying, "Ron Paul. Ron Paul. He's the one. Please choose Ron Paul," he finally said, "You know, I'm going to say Ron Paul. I think I like what the guy has to say. He seems like the real thing to me." WOOHOO!! Thanks DPers for helping me to get going! You're the best!! GO RON PAUL 2012!!

Believe me was frustrated as well, but I guess it

is better than ....

Anyway, once i got started and yes the other person is right you have to open up firefox and go to the rp site to call from there. i downloaded chrome and had to do it this way to. I made a lot of calls the past couple of weeks and we have reached out to new people everyday. Thank you from one patriot family to another. Good luck in your obtaining info to/for the campaign.

I Had the same problem

I had to download the newer version of FF. Might be a dumb question, but did you use the set up program? The icon will be on your desktop, click on it and it will set it up for you. Sounds like you are still on IE.

I agree, barriers will get people to say forget it.

But once I got it set up it worked great. Don't give up!

Just Made My First Call

Wow, that was just a tad unnerving because I didn't know I was going to get connected to a phone # immediately. I didn't have a real chance to read what I was supposed to say before the person answered. Yeah, I sort of fumbled mumbled the introductory, "Hi, I'm so and so, conducting a blah, blah, poll." But overall, it was a good experience. I'm just not good a cold calling unless I practice a bit. The lady that answered just said she wasn't interested in participating in the poll. So I just said "Thank you anyway."

I now realize I could of just hung up on that number BEFORE the person answered and read the introductory sentence and other questions in prepping myself for the call.

Like I said, it was a tad unnerving, but WE HAVE GOT TO DO THIS, Or it is OBAMA for another 4 or one of the other neocon status quos.

Please do this... I'm an introvert, a bit shy, but I did it, so you can too!

Remember the people you are calling have no idea you are a Ron Paul supporter. You are simply asking them to participate in a poll.

Now that I've experienced it, rattled my nerves a bit, I'm ready for my next call and will get better and better with doing it. Practice makes perfect!

Get 'er DONE!

Can we leave this on the front page for a while? Last time Ron called for phone banking it wasn't visible for that long.

Ok I just did 20 calls, and

Ok I just did 20 calls, and only one answer, I have concluded this is not a good time to call, any suggestions for better times? I know evenings will be when most folks are home, but I also know people usually don't want to be bothered in the evenings.

Evenings are the best time.

Evenings are the best time. But make calls whenever YOU have free time. Leaving automated voicemails is still good.

Let's face it, people never want to be bothered, EVER. So we just have to make the calls and get our foot in the door. Take home message: do it anytime you can--evenings are indeed the highest yield.

hot diggity

I'm 52 and have a tubal ligation but I'll shoot for that. Ha ha. seriously, is Saturday a good time? If not, I'll have to wait until next Tuesday. It won't be too late will it? I know the primary isn't until January but I would have thought this was too early , so what do I know? How long will the program be available?

this is great! But, what about those people who want to call

from other countries. Anyone in touch with the campaign to help this cause?
