Ron Paul Fans: Here Is Why The Media Lost Interest In Your Candidate

"Ron Paul has been consistently polling 3rd in the early Republican primary states. And yet, as the Paul-fans in our comments section constantly remind us, Ron Paul doesn't get respect from the media. Why is that?
There are a few minor reasons:
In 2008, Ron Paul seemed totally new, a huge contrast to the party discipline that had characterized the GOP under Bush.
His money-bombs were a big story four years ago. Less so now. The media has reported that he has a core of super-dedicated followers.
And while Ron Paul has been holding steady in the polls, he hasn't ever threatened to become a front-runner. He's never polled at 25 percent nationally, or in any of the early states"

The media hasn't lost

The media hasn't lost interest in Ron Paul..they decided early in 2007 that he was just not going to be mentioned...basically ever...because he would do major harm to the bosses of the "media" bankers, corpofascists...war machines, neocons etc...

"and the truth shall make you free"
John 8:32

If both sides ignore him enough! That SPEAKS volumes.

Truly the relatively few conservatives that are not shrills for the GOP, not insane bible thumpers, who have independent thought and realize there has always been an alternate lifestyle. Need to speak up and stand up for Dr. Paul.

I see more whining about the RINOS, yet Dr Paul is called the kook.

This site seems a bit down.. Look there is only one reason Dr. Paul is ignored, dismissed and left out BOTH sides fear him.
He is not in any pocket and not part of the Old Boy Network..

Advertise and or post more on Hillbuzz. They reach a lot of dis-enfranchised and Dr Paul gets a fair shake there and they have a Darned good following.
I am not affiliated with the site. I just see they cover Dr Paul fairly and positively.

For those that see the Iran thing as such a big obstacle Name ANYTHING that the past several years worth of leaders have done to stop IRAN besides Lip service. Sanctions, that is a laugh.. .

I pray Dr. Paul is getting the support needed even with a deliberate blackout.

Nonetheless, outside of just

Nonetheless, outside of just the Internet Ron Paul's support is growing every day.

You're FORGETTING how Un-Scientific those polls are:

Most of us are online now (Paul wins the most online polls), most of us have cell phones (not landlines), many of us are not seniors who watch TV propaganda all day. If Paul was given fair media coverage he would do better in these polls as well... but not so when the media treats you like pond scum and tells the people you WON'T be President 6 months before we even have the first primary. Propagandist Neo-Cons.

Poll numbers are accepted as gospel truth when in fact they are often seriously flawed. In most cases people over 65 ('cause they are "always" home) with landlines (mobile numbers not available) are polled. You could not wish for a more distorted picture than this and yet the media never questions the validity of the poll.

In addition, the polls only target Republicans. Some would incorrectly argue that Paul is running for the Republican nomination, hence they need to poll Republicans. Wrong. There are more independents in the country than Republicans and Democrats.

Paul is the GOP Front Runner. Check out these FEC figures:

“I don't think we should go to the moon. I think we maybe should send some politicians up there.” -Ron Paul

█████ R █ O █ N ██ P █ A █ U █ L ███ 2 0 1 2 ██████

Sigh...it's hard to be ahead of our time

It OUGHT to go without saying that Ron Paul would poll higher if he were given a FAIR CHANCE. If his wins at CPAC and near-tie at the Iowa straw poll and all the other straw polls were respected and not totally ignored and downplayed. If his fundraising was not trivialized or misreported altogether.

It's not like his lower poll numbers reflect his "electability" fair and square. It's not like, when he WAS a frontrunner after the Iowa straw poll, the media just let the facts stand for themselves.

How long is this BS going to last? How long will the media keep talking about itself like it is objective and free, when more and more people know it's just a tightly-controlled matrix?

Ron Paul is polling at 16% in Iowa

and that poll as all the others do not count independents and dems who registered republican to vote for Ron Paul.

January 3rd in Iowa will be a cold winter day(passionate supporters DO vote) and my guess 40,000 votes cast for Ron Paul will be enough to win it.
Just as Huckebee won it 4 years ago with around 40,000 votes.
I want to see what media will say then -- want to see their red faces.

There should be quotation marks.

... so folks know you are quoting The Business Insider.

The article says if we want more coverage we need to break the 14-17% ceiling, and if we really want to shake it up, bring a victory to Iowa. Let's bring a victory to Iowa!

You watch the MSM and think that is news?

Manufacturing Consent for their advertisers is there job, Plain and Simple.

If the Paul Campaign wanted to buy ad time, then the advertisers would oblige.

Men with deeper pockets would counter as needed, and money would be wasted.

I've been watching TV and listening to the radio since before 1960. SSDD. Same sh t, different day.

Nobody is going to help us restore the Constitution or our liberties. We must simply demand them, Liberty is our birthright, no more no less.

This campaign is peer-2-peer. No single point of failure.

Free includes debt-free!

Your Gonna Tell Us Why Ron Paul Is only Polling 3rd?... WTF?

Your mother is coming home soon.. She'll makes you dinner and puts you to bed so you can go to school and learn how to put condoms on pickels..Ha!

Send in the clowns

Or should I say the defeatist mongers? You joined this site five days ago to attempt to spread this type of propaganda?
We must be doing something right.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

Response to Chessienut

The article is not near as negative as you are. Regardless of when I joined this site I have been a strong supporter of Ron Paul's for many years. By "we" you mean Ron Paul, right?

If your intention is to drive Paul supporters off this site you are doing a good job.

I think...

part of the problem may be you didn't make any of your own comments clarifying your opinion of the article.

Many at DP are in constant "troll defense" mode and sometimes the motive of posters, especially of new members, is hard to ascertain...

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Just another msm shill

We know the real reason they "lost" interest. MSM is in hock up to their eyeballs, in debt, in the red. The banksters could pull the plug anytime and it would be curtains for any of them. But they're so useful...if they're told to get rid of their worst nightmare... RP ...that's what they gotta do. MSM is just a gigantic propaganda machine for the Statists.

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

basically january or bust

after Iowa and New Hampshire, if Ron doesn't finish in top two than there is no campaign. All focus should be on these two states. Get on the phones. Keep donating.

I have been, but do not forget

nevada is February 4th, that is a big deal too. We need to call for Paul.

Pols are seriously flawed...

My wife and I (and to the best of my knowledge, my three sons and their spouses) have always voted Libertarian, unless they voted for Ron Paul. Hence, we are not on the pollsters' radar.

Ron Paul's support bases is deep and diverse. If he does not win the GOP nomination, he will win the White House as an independent. Either way, our next president will be Ron Paul. The GOP Politburo be damned!

Plano TX

the media has not lost interest Sean hannity

just came out supporting Ron Pauls budget plan. What media are you listening to. we have made enourmous strides and are moving up continually. we are constantly gaining ground and support. Ron Paul is the only constistent candidate. he has voted for the Constitution all the time.

Romney = pro-life? no wait pro-choice, met with Obama several times to facilitate Obamacare, no wait, "this was a failed plan, why didnt Obama ask me?"

Cain = Federal Reserve and lobbyist, but "I am not a politician" Ran for office and failed. pro-life, no wait, "A woman should have the right to choose"
"We ahould put an electrified fence along the border" No wait, "that was a joke"

Ron Paul wins 40% in

New Orleans straw poll!

straw polls are self-selected

People choose to participate in straw polls and are thus biased in favor of whomever has not the biggest number of supporters, but the most enthusiastic supporters.

This is why more attention and credibility is given to telephone polls.

"Know what you know, know what you don't know, and understand and appreciate the distinction."

Except if Cain wins one.

Except if Cain wins one.

Blah blah blah...

For its own sake the Media needs to be more concerned why the People are losing interest in the THEM (the Media)... :)

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Some good points, but wrong

There has been an intentional black out of Ron Paul by the MSM that goes beyond the simple polling percentage he gets.

we all know the reason....

cause big government fears the big government shake-down that they are going to see and feel when president paul takes over. "business as usual" will simply cease to exist! entitlement employees will have to go out and get real jobs, like main street america has had to do. no more back-room deals, no more special intrest profits, no more "legal" crime, graft, and corruption....
in short, REAL hope and change will become reality- and that scares the pants off of government as usual types.
msm polls are a farce. they are still trying their best to get people to vote the way they want us to vote. the good doctor is listed on fox as 12 percent right now. but ive seen internet polls listing him in the 70's and 80's. what does that say? it says we're WINNING!!!
ive told everyone i know to learn the truth by going to youtube and type in ron paul, THAT"S how to learn the truth about him, not just to learn what little the media is willing to let people learn.
i also went on ronpaul2012.com and copied off rons plan to restore america, been showing it to everyone willing to look at it.(9 pages of food for thought and intelligent conversation!)
get ready for a new honest government, get ready to get your rights and liberties back, get ready for REAL change!

it's gonna happen- cause we're gonna make it happen!

ron paul!

ron in 12!

The old "moving target" thing again

This is continuous from 08. Your candidate is an unknown. Well, he's a multiple term congressman and former presidential candidate. OK then, he'll never raise any money. Well we did the world's first money bomb. OK then your candidate will never poll in double digits. Well now we got that. OK then why isn't your candidate on television? Well, here comes television, more media buy than any other candidate in Iowa. OK then...what now? They revert back to "he's too old and skinny looking"?

It's the old moving-target routine.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

It's the old moving-target routine.

You are right on the money.

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

Oh, I see; it doesn't have anything to do with...

Ron Paul's opposition to the Federal Reserve and the big banks, who provide CREDIT to everybody, includia media tools.
Otherwise, how would a buffoon like Cain and empty suits like Romney and Perry gain so much attention?

Ohio he received 54%, Iowa he took 82%

California at 44.9% Iowa he received 27%

Iowa he received 27% Bachmann secured 4,823 votes, narrowly besting Texas Rep. Ron Paul who had 4,671 votes.

In the Iowa voters result, Paul took 82%. Following him were Herman Cain with 14.7%, Rick Santorum with 1%, Newt Gingrich with 0.9%, Michele Bachmann with 0.5%, Rick Perry with 0.5%, Gary Johnson with 0.2%, with Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman 0%. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/29/ron-paul-win...

It is a good article, but if

It is a good article, but if ONLY the media would help us out! I swear the next time they say he won't win he should say--You want this country to keep sliding down this slope? If not, then vote for me because I am the ONLY one running that will get this country on the right track. You really better vote for me.

I like the "retro-props" given to Ron Paul.

If you want him to really shake up the political-media world, take him to victory in Iowa's caucuses.

Think the media will report it if he wins or places in the upper tier?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
