Happy New Year to All! Thank you Grassroots for an excellent 2007! We've come so much further, and done so much more for Ron Paul and the cause of liberty than anyone ever dreamed or expected we could. Give yourselves a pat on the back and keep up the excellent work in 2008. Let's get Ron Paul in the White House, restore the Republic, and feel proud to be an American once again.
From the campaign: Ron Paul Supporters Donate Nearly $20 Million in Fourth Quarter

SHAME
This means we did NOTHING in the 90 days of the quarter.
In two money bomb days people donated $10M+
(yes, you can tell yourself in two days you donated $200K+ per hour, but in reality, you're really donating $211K per day on average, people are not stupid, there's nothing special about saving up for a month or two just to send $100)
But the remaining 90 (+/-) days of the quarter we can't even match up to that? Well, you did what you did, I hope you're all proud of it.
SHAME is on you...
I *totally* disagree with you.... I worked with others on this website to email *all* the bookstores in America.... we emailed 10,000 plus Libertarian minded people (who sell books of all kinds) about our message and did like many others to get our message across.
You seem to think that averaging $150 dollars per person is a bad thing and not great. Well the grassroot supporters of Ron Paul are *not* rich people... and I seriously doubt we have all given everything... There will be many other money bombs to come - and people are buying lots of other Ron Paul material... donating to the Blimp, spending their time and money to canvass on foot and on the internet - FREE ADVERTISING for Ron Paul every chance we can get by flooding chatrooms, voting in polls, posting anywhere and everywhere on the internet, telling our friends and family through the spoken word and emails about Ron Paul etc. etc. etc..
WE have done a SUPER JOB for a small campaign, with consistently increasing polling numbers and donations etc. etc. etc... I think when Ron Paul starts doing well in the Primaries and Caucases, we will get more and more donations...
Its all a matter of Ron Paul being perceived as not a fringe candidate which we are doing and more and more people will get the message and come on the bandwagon and donate. By Super Teusday if we have not pulled sufficent votes, then we can at least say we tried... but this defeatist attitude of yours is NOT GOOD....
Never have I pointed a finger at people on this board and say YOU ARE A TROLL (having being accused of such myself) but in this case YOU SIR OR MADAME ARE A TROLL...
Thought I would *never* say this to anyone on this website, but for a post like that - take your negative thoughts elsewhere.... We are proud of what we have done... armchair soldiers and ground soldiers alike we have done a superb job of educating america!
LIVE FREE OR DIE...
Hold on
I wasn't talking about people like you, who have spent money and time elsewhere, I am talking about people who sit in front of computers and myspace pages and hype up the money bomb.
People like you and I are those who given more than 2,300 can ever buy. Those who have not know who they are, and are not of any guilt, shame I speak of (and even if it was, why should they care what I think?)
Mind you, shall you know who I am
I am Josh from Los Angeles call center (Operation Call 4 Paul), see video on front page. I volunteered over a week worth of labor and time (morning to night average 5 hours sleep, I'm either writing post cards, making signs, or taking calls), I am unemployed, full time student and I've given over 3 dozen t-shirts out to my dedicated team out here. I gave up my Iowa trip and have managed an office to turn in 250-500 new Iowa caucus goers.
YES , I will say it, $150 a person for 90 days is NOT enough, and that's my opinion. That's less than $2 a working day.
pissing contest
This is not a contest "who is most devoted", if someone gives $50 earned by his "blood, sweat and tears".
You say one thing..
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!.
You are young and a student, so you are forgiven the fact that you dont realize that these people have JOBS, carpayments, "whatever" payments and have to raise families pay bills.

-- Ron Paul, presidential TV add on immigration.
it certainly is not
I didn't start any pissing contest nor did I say anybody is not devoted.
I did say people who sit back and hype up the money bomb are useless when they see themselves unable to match in 90 days what they did in two days.
Yes, I DO realize people have jobs, carpayments and debts. That doesn't mean I don't have the right to criticize the way they spend money just because mine is different.
You Do Not See
It seems you forget that most supporters spend their own money on shirts, signs, decals, travel expenses, paint, and donating to other causes (like Lewrockwell.com, the RP Blimp, etc). I'm not sure there is an easy way to quantify this amount, but I would guess its way, WAY more than $20 million. In fact I know of a few cases where people have donated over $100,000 to the RP efforts.
Also, many supporters (myself included) do not want to contribute more than $200 to the campaign. Call me paranoid, but I don't much like being on a public government list describing in detail how much financially I support a political canidate. As such, I have given far more to other RP causes than directly to the campaign. And I suspect there are many other supporters who think as I do.
I am most pleased that the amount raised this quarter from so many donors. Remember, the original goal was $12 million, which at the beginning of the quarter seemed like a huge number. Now that we supporters have raised almost $20 million, shows the Ron Paul support is strong, wide and deep.
For a bit of perspective I have followed this campaign from before Ron Paul announced he was going to run. I certainly did not expect him to get as much support as he is getting quarter to quarter. But now it is clear he is a very serious contender in this race, with a very good chance of winning the primaries. I must admit, I am most happily surprised and elated by this. What a great way to begin the new year!
no, I do understand
all you have described has applied to me.
however, I was too stupid to know contributions above $200 are reported (if I knew, I'd have done differently). But I'm willing to bet most who didn't donate just didn't, not for privacy reasons.
I'm not saying $20 million is not good enough, I'm saying people wasted too much time hyping up something so little, while they COULD'VE and SHOULD'VE spent more time and money doing things productive.
No, you do not understand
I completely disagree. Many Ron Paul supporters have very strong privacy concerns. Also, I would not call you stupid: you support Ron Paul after all!
However, you seem to look at the glass half empty, I look at it half full. You said we could and should have done more, and only pointed to the $20 million raised as not good enough. I'm saying the grass roots supporters HAVE done lots with their time and money to achieve an astounding assortment of productive ends. Including donating $20 million to the Ron Paul campaign, which is more than any other Republican candidate this quarter. Including going out to straw polls and winning the majority of them. Including making signs and posting them all over the place. Including making a blimp. Including joining MeetUp groups. Including taking out ads in newspapers (even a few full page ones). Including becoming Republican delegates. Including making thousands of Ron Paul videos. Including writing hundreds of songs. Including giving up high paying jobs to help out. Including sending letters supporting Ron Paul. Including standing out in th cold waving signs. Including making this great website. I could go on and on about the amazing things the grass roots supporters have done to help raise awareness about Ron Paul.
obviously
the topic of this post is about money, so when I say "nothing" I meant "nothing" as far as money donations go. the whole money bomb hype was all about donating anyway (and which I considered secondary in the first place)
Donating is great, but working on your own to do all else is great too (I won't say which is exactly better, it works differently for each person)
But its the people who think its either easy or sufficient to gather the money that are the keyboard commandos who do nothing, and those who have failed to meet their own goals are the ones I am pointing fingers at right now.
Ignorant
not stupid, just ignorant to have not known the laws.
I would think if votes are private , donations should be too.
But let's put it this way, if Ron Paul is not President, you lose all privacy ANYWAY, so why worry about supporting him now on the radar when you can lose much more later??
Moments
Yeah, i get them to,..., the task is so daunting....,but,.... stiff upper lip, stop bitch'n and start postering!

Nothing?
I don't know about you but I was out recruiting delegates for our caucus and educating people about the campaign for Freedom, Prosperity and Peace. How much an hour does that calculate to?
In other words- shut up!
Actually, I was at our call center
I'm the team leader/manager of our Los Angeles call center, reaching Iowans all week. If you've seen the video posted on DailyPaul frontpage (Operation Call 4 Paul) you'd see me coming up the first minute of the video.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! RON PAUL
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
RON PAUL 2008....
Why still no South Carolina TV ads?
How was the broke Huckster able to get airtime here in SC roughly 2 weeks ago, but still no ads for Ron Paul? Fortunately, here in SC, some group I never heard of has simultaneously been running ads that have skewered the Huckster to a crisp. (They show video of him campaigning to extract more tribute from his poor subjects in Arkansas. The ads run what seems to be every 15 or 20 minutes on all 3 channels, all day long. I know a couple of warmongers who had thought the Huckster was their man, but no more. They're now really confused.) Still, it's baffling that he was able to get his propaganda on air so quickly.
Does anyone know when our ads are going to air in SC?
Rupert Murdoch's e-mail
From the LA Times: Dr Ron Paul has been tentatively excluded from the upcoming Fox / ABC News debate. Understandably, no one wants to incur the online wrath of Paul's passionate parishioners, who scour the Internet around the clock and descend like locusts on any opportunity to praise Ron Paul or right perceived wrongs on any website or blog they can find. If word got out that Fox/News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch's e-mail was rmurdoch@newscorp.com, his mailbox would be full in a flash.
TSUNAMI!!
Flood that sucker!! I think the SMTP servers overthere are melting towards China.

Thank you Dr. Paul !!
Happy New Year !!
Let's keep having fun, keep up the fight, and thank each other. But above all. Thank Dr. Ron Paul for all he's done and is doing for us, for liberty, and for all True Americans.
Everyone here should be very proud !
Maxing out
Are RP supporters maxing out? Is there a graph on that? So we can estimate what (potentially) could be placed in the pipeline by these people.
"No visas for people from terrorist nations"
-- Ron Paul, presidential TV add on immigration.
With more than 130,000
Unique donors in the 4th quarter only about 15% of them are maxed out and truly the fact is that only about 5-8% of individuals are maxed out and the revolution seems to be growing by about 100,000 or more individuals per each week with about 1% or less of those new supporters making donations.
These are rough guesstimates based on fairly "scientific" stuff... of course we could be growing much larger and faster than this.
The Revolution Continues at http://nationbuilder.org
Estimate?
There are still millions that need to hear this message. The actual numbers, even a good estimate will probably never be known and really don't matter. Instead of trying to estimate, we should DETERMINE the number of supporters. We should all be making the same New Year Resolution to redouble our efforts, get out, and recruit because the Mainstream has only begun to fight. It's up to us.
Ron Paul For President !!
Estimate!!
Not getting my point, a lot of people are maxing out, i read it everywhere, so if RP doesnt attract new people/converts (talking about the non-libertarian inclined)....Then "this is it", for a while at least. A lot of doners are libertarians (maybe not formally calling themselves so). So how many doners have maxed out? Thats a good question.
