Who else do we know of running for Congress and standing for Liberty?

**What is a Freedom Candidate?** Feel free to discuss...

My personal thoughts --> Strict Respect for the Constitution/rule of law. May have a D, R, L, or I. The things I look for when looking at their Issues page are Foreign Policy and Federal Reserve; other issues are either parroted by establishment or have not yet gained steam by the populace as a hallmark "issue" (I wouldn't expect MA freedom candidate to have "Secession" as an issue heading or a TN candidate to have "Drug War"... yet).

Clayton Thibodeau CA 42

http://www.claytonthibodeau.com/

I'm still looking into him, if anyone else can vouch for him or give me some more information it would be appreciated. He sounds like a tea party type but Im not sure if he's a Ron Paul guy or just sympathetic. All I know is that whenever I see a Ron Paul sign or bumper sticker around town there's usually a Clayton Thibodeau one right next to it.

Because of redistricting we no longer have to suffer under Mary Bono Mack in the 45th district but out of the frying pan and into the fire we have the rep of the 44th district Ken Calvert, the poster boy of everything we're fighting against in government, who is seeking reelection as the the 42nd rep. He's most likely the establishment pick and needs to be opposed. I went on his site and gagged. I don't like this argument, though it will likely improve as I do more research on Mr. Thibodeau, but almost anyone would be better than Calvert. We're talking serious neocon RINO. I say throw Clayton Thibodeau up on that list too and get him some recognition so we can clean house!

TJ Fabby for TX

State district 10. He is a big time Ron Paul supporter.

-Jacky
Austin, TX
Travis County

NJ District 7

We've got to get Lance out of office! He pretends to be a conservative and brags about his vote against Obamacare. What he fails to say is what he did vote for in the Obamacare package and his votes against our civil liberties. Neocon all the way.

Please add to NJ: For Congress, District 7: David Larsen

http://www.examiner.com/article/david-larsen-hopes-for-conse...

Larsen is our best hope for D7. Leonard Lance has got to go!

Add Dr. Johnny Lee for CD 19

Add Dr. Johnny Lee for CD 19 in California for 2014.

He is running in 2014, but has already started to campaign early.

Please add for NJ

For Congress, District 6: Anna Little

For Congress, District 7: David Larsen

For US Senate: Bader Qarmout

All of the above are supported by the Bay Shore Tea Party. THAT Tea Party endorses Ron Paul.

Update: Richard Mourdock defeated Richard Lugar...

... in yesterday's Indiana Primary.

Mourdock is a Mixed Bag

Mourdock good on fiscal issues, 2nd amendment, pro-life. But supports status quo foreign policy, supports the Patriot Act.

Libertarian Andy Horning, will be challenging him in the general election. Reading his website and talking to RP supporters here in Indiana, Horning is rock solid in all liberty issues including foreign policy.

Suggestion: Please post the link to Horning's Website...

... so that we can evaluate him. Thank you!

I have one I think you should consider adding...

I'd like to have Lauren Stephens added. She's attempting to primary Tom Petri (WI-6). You could make the case that WI-6 is the most conservative/Republican district in Wisconsin, so if she can pull off the upset against Petri, she likely wins the General in a landslide.

She isn't as outspoken against the Fed (so far) as I would like, but she's completely opposed to the Patriot Act, NDAA, unconstitutional and undeclared war, etc.

She isn't "official" yet, because she still needs to get signatures to get placed on the ballot, but she is trying to get them.

I have spoken to her numerous times, and I feel she's legit. If anyone here lives in Wisconsin's 6th district, and is as sick of Petri as I am, let me know. I'd like to ask for your signature to get her on the ballot.

Thank you.

Suggestion: Please post the link to Her Website...

You have a lot of neocons on that list. Please don't dilute the liberty message.

I got a lot of the names from

I got a lot of the names from your list. Others were recommended by DPers - figured not everyone knows to try for an endorsement from y'all. As many as i've had time for I look up their campaign site for good liberty language (constitutional war, federal reserve...etc more than the cliche "smaller government, cut taxes, repeal obamacare talk).

Does your site include responses by people who failed? I check back here often hoping for DPers who know the candidates better to vet them so any who need to be removed can be and any who need to be added can be added.

"You must be frank with the world; frankness is the child of honesty and courage...Never do anything wrong to make a friend or keep one...Above all do not appear to others what you are not" - Robert E. Lee, CSA

Liberty Candidates has not endorsed Rep. Justin Amash...

... and I view Amash as being one of the strongest Constitutional conservatives in Congress (along with Ron Paul and Rand Paul):

http://www.dailypaul.com/227027/help-justin-amash-win-the-ne...

I therefore would not be inclined to limit our candidates list to only those supported by Liberty Candidates.

A Constitutional, Christian conservative for Ron Paul

No, my website does not

No, my website does not include the responses from people who failed but we have them.

You should join our committee --you sound like someone who would do an excellent job of vetting the candidates. We have over 100 in our committee --it's like a family :)

www.libertycandidates.com ask to be a member and I'll approve you (not everyone can be a committee member, we are very careful not to have non-liberty folk join)

Just saw this article from

Just saw this article from Drudge about Mia Love winning the Republican nomination for UT-4... She beat out YAL endorsed Carl Wimmer and has been endorsed by cantor, paul ryan, and mitt romney's son... Anybody know more about her? Her endorsements do not make her sound very liberty minded...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/apr/23/utahs-love-l...

"You must be frank with the world; frankness is the child of honesty and courage...Never do anything wrong to make a friend or keep one...Above all do not appear to others what you are not" - Robert E. Lee, CSA

I would remove Mia Love

I would remove Mia Love (UT-4). Carl Wimmer is a a real liberty candidate and as far as I can tell from Love's site, she doesn't have any specific policy positions. Also, Jack Hunter did a rEVOLution profile of Wimmer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqn2nOoPgCs

https://twitter.com/#!/cevans93

Have you ever met Mia? Have you had 1-on-1 discussions w/ her?

I doubt it - especially since you seem to be from California and thus are not in her district.

I find it very odd that you'd single her out, trying to bump her from this list. Care to explain that? What evidence do YOU have that she does not deserve to be a liberty candidate? That is a pretty tall statement to make without any specifics to back it up. Have you seen her pledge to the people of Utah? http://www.love4utah.com/petition I wonder what exactly you find so objectionable? Did you review her record as Mayor of Saratoga Springs? Do you know her position on the NDAA? I do.

I proposed Mia Love for addition to this list. I did that AFTER having met with her several times; grilling her on her issues, policies and positions. Mia is most certainly deserving to be on the freedom candidate's list. I am looking forward to seeing Mia Love defeat Jim Matheson (who, by the way, voted for the NDAA and has NOT joined every other Utah Senator and Rep in co-sponsoring HR459/S202 Audit the Fed bill).

I've also met with Carl Wimmer in person. I also met with other candidates for Utah's fourth district. I would choose Mia over Carl and any of the others running. Don't get me wrong, if Carl Wimmer wins the nomination, I would be very happy if he defeated Matheson.

As far as Jack Hunter's profile goes, he didn't say anything about Mia Love; one way or another. Jack Hunter did mention, however, that Carl was endorsed by Senator Mike Lee. Jack didn't bother to mention that Senator Lee also endorsed Mitt Romney; just skipped over that little nugget. At the very least, that calls into question Mike Lee's judgement when giving his endorsement. If Lee was such a die-hard constitutionalist and liberty lover, he would have endorsed Ron Paul. Rather, Lee showed himself to be a self-serving politician when it came right down to it; very sad.

We the People's picture

Mia Love is a Romney delegate

She's definitely not a liberty candidate

And Carl Wimmer certainly seemed to be, until Love knocked him out of the race at the heavily infested Senator Hatch / Romney zombie love fest convention.

I'm just going by what I've

I'm just going by what I've seen on both their sites. Love is very vague about her position on the issues. Wimmer is much more specific. I don't know about Love, I know about Wimmer.
