Video: Ron Paul's Fed Chair Pick, James Grant on GoldMoney News

http://youtu.be/1VcN_Z6L0jM

James Grant of Grant's Interest Rate Observer (http://www.grantspub.com/) and James Turk of the GoldMoney Foundation discuss the history and mission of the Fed, how mission creep has taken it wildly beyond its initial purpose into the territory of QE, ZIRP and other fiat currency experiments.

Voice tones and visuals are professional enough for me.

My concerns are that the policies he holds reflect what is righteous and as the video somewhat displays he's able to explain or argue for them. The caring and empathy to the fellow man are better revealed by the world view and positions being actually implemented. It's not the talk its the walk. It would be nice to have both, don't get me wrong but many times we give up on what is right only to be fooled by a more eloquent tongue or pleasing appearances. Ron Paul picked one who has those same concerns as his own, that is what really counts.

Listening to many of the so called caring individuals such as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or "I feel your pain" William Clinton turns my stomach when I know their politics destroys individuals. They smile as they stab the hearts.

I understand some of us maybe concerned about the tone but remember how Christ turned over the tables and threw the people out of the temple not only because of the sabbath laws but because they were cheating their fellow man with false measures. They were thieves and I believe they had that nice convincing tone enabling one to give up their money.

The bible commands us to have just weights and measures and remember this is what tipped Ron Paul into the political fight back in the 70's. It is a righteous cause. Deut. 25:13-16

See subject line.

The guy is a little weird

But that also could be from his upbringing, or just the type of profession he is in, or maybe he just wants to emphasize his individualism. It's kind of irrelevant.

The thing I found the most striking about him honestly was his lack of empathy when empathetic subjects of people getting screwed-over came up. He would respond, "yes, yes, yes, yes" - just listen to how he sounds - like his vocal variety. He did this many times during the interview when the shear mention of people getting screwed over the current system.

Honestly, I don't know how to take it - it can be mean a number of different things - good, bad or just indifferent. He could just be so inundated with it that he's built an intolerance to it, or he has a deep problem with it and wants to avoid talking about it, or something. This is typically not how most people react though... even if you have heard it a hundred billion times.

How many times have you heard him speak?

Have you read any of his books? Have you read his newsletter?

Ron Paul tossed him a hot potato. Or is it a turd sandwich.

First impressions mean everything

Imagine this is the kind of talk that he gave where a lot of the american people were watching...

What do you expect him to do?

What do you expect him to do? Shed a tear?

Compassion matters.

All the brain power in the world won't protect Liberty or win the hearts of people the way Ron Paul has if brain power is not driven by compassion. Genuine compassion always leads to Liberty. Ron Paul's intellect, humility and genuine compassion make him a world class Statesman and will make him a great President. Having said that, I trust President Ron Paul's judgment when it comes to who to appoint to what position.

Watch the video I just posted below.

He's more serious in that one. He does still seem reluctant or unwilling to point out how fraudulent and evil our current banking system is, but maybe he's a tactician like Rand Paul.

No

I sense no anger, no frustration, or no empathy at all. It's like he's just brushing it aside, or he even sounds like he's a little sick of hearing it. I am not the best at gauging emotions, but when Ayn Rand, Ron Paul or anyone else talked about this, their emotional responses were/are quite different.

I actually wish his response was just logical and cold. It's the brushing it off with the "yes, yes, yes" and how he says it like this multiple times in the interview that make him sound... I dunno what the word is. Unempathetic is the best I can come up with.

Here Jim Grant is much more serious:

Watch the first video:

So, I think in the GoldMoney interview he is keeping things more lighthearted for a more general audience.

But I would still like to see him directly point out that the banking system is fraudulent. I've only watched these two videos of him, and have not read anything yet though, so I'm not going to judge him.

My Choice

I would really like to see Jim Rogers appointed as Fed Chairman

When I heard James Grant I was like "Oh Boy."

Figures that Ron Paul would pick the only guy in the world nerdier than he in regards to the Fed. Grant as a Fed Chairman would be MIGHTY interesting!

He is an excellent, clear communicator;

he is to Bernanke as the sun's illumination is to a dense thundercloud.
Grant actually understands the dynamics of market economics.

The Federal Reserve System itself is unconstitutional(.)

Article 1 section 8(.)

They violated the Constitution by creating the Federal Reserve, and are all criminals in their complicity, past and present(.)

This is nothing but apologetic B.S. that this system is not operating the way it should, and if we can just restore it to that, we will be fine.

No way. The smoke and mirrors do not work anymore.

So far so good....

This is what we’ve heard hinted at from the RP campaign:

Dr. Ron Paul – President of the USA
Rand Paul --Vice President of the USA
Andrew Napolitano – Attorney General of the USA
James Grant – Chairman of the Federal Reserve

I can live with that!

Many Daily Paul readers followed Jim's testimony.

Many of were glad to see him testify again!

Is the Federal Reserve using low interest rates as a teaser rate for selling the world's governments what are effectively adjustable rate mortgages?

Excellent. This proves the

Excellent. This proves the point though, the gold standard is a great idea, but in this 30 min interview, they didn't even come close to touching the controversial parts of what that would mean. If this interview took 30 mins, it would take hours of discussion for all of the issues to be addressed, and we are living in a 30 second sound bite society.

I think post-campaign, these issues need to be the focus of all of our efforts, WE can build momentum in this direction, by continuing and extending our involvement, working through the system, not around it.

The guy is a genius. No wonder Ron likes him.

Grant should not sit in front of a window

like he does in this interview, and he should take other precautions for his life. I have an idea TPTB would see his appointment as intolerable.

I think from the brick wall through the window there was probably no good angle for a line-of-sight. I agree with Von that we will rise up stronger if they start attacking us, but I moreso agree with you that we all need to be careful.
