I guess that was the exact reaction that the media tried to engender - fear of impending apocalypse. I got that same feeling you did, and wished at that moment that I had about 20 kilos of silver and a 2 month supply of dry rations... :( Until I read enough to know that it wasn't as bad as I thought.
In the words of John Stewart when he was on O'Reily, I do really hate how the MSM "ratchets up the fear". Emergencies are important to know about, but the MSM makes everything seem like a screaming emergency... It really does send people into a panic. God forbid, I can only imagine the headline that an actual terrible thing happening would produce.

I didn't mean to be like MSM - also I've legit only slept like 5 hours the last 3 days cuz of school (which is why I'm up now) and usually read a lot of news when Im procrastinating (hence the variety of articles). Probably not unlike yourself, I believe a war with Iran would be a huge disaster and elevate to WW3....I wonder if people will read this whole thread o.O

I used to look at a lot more news, but it only made me depressed - back in 2001 after the attacks I was literally glued to CNN... was so depressed due to world events back then, and all the crap they were spewing made it worse.
These days I most often find news through DP, since many people are sifting thru the garbage to find some worthwhile stories. The DP in some ways acts as an excellent news curator and filters out a lot of hogwash. I don't blame people for getting scared by reading the news, it's what "they" are looking to effect. Never as bad as it seems, even when it is actually bad.
Thanks again for the news tip, try not to let the MSM eat too much of your time now :)
