don't understand

I just don't get it. What if those same pollsters called those same people and put Romney as the Indy and Paul as the (R). What would Those numbers look like? I've a feeling it would become the Definition of Landslide. I just don't get it.

actually yes. a romney voter

actually yes. a romney voter would be much closer ideologically to obama than to paul.

Probably a small percentage.

Probably a small percentage. Most of these voters will be party line Republicans and will fall in line behind the republican nominee. Just a theory.

Politiks

That's just enough

I can support a 3rd Party Run if this is true.

The debates will have a threshold of 15%, which means Ron Paul would be included in the Presidential Debates.

I think if that was the case, he could outdo Perot.

Perot Didn't Win

NO THIRD PARTY.

Agreed...a lot better than

Agreed...a lot better than Perot.

If it isn't Ron, it doesn't

If it isn't Ron, it doesn't matter. Flush this country down the toilet.

32%

Is there any reason to believe Ron wouldn't get Mitt's 32% as well as the 18% he already has when Ron is the Republican nominee?

Politiks

Hold Your Horses

Bloomberg got 13% in the other 3rd party hypothetical. There is definitely going to be a 3rd party challenger this year by the looks of this poll. So after we win the republicrat nomination we will have to watch out for that kook.

Alternative Party

There has been an alternative party candidate ever since 1971, without fail, often several.

What are you talking about?

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

I could see Perry being the

I could see Perry being the crazy ego-maniacal one who would do that.

The economy is not going to

The economy is not going to be getting better, so if Ron runs third party, LITERALLY, ALL BETS ARE OFF!

BTW, how is this topic not is "Top Recent Topics"? I never saw this yesterday at night.

The media must be on red

The media must be on red alert right about now...

I think there is a very

I think there is a very important factor not figured into these "potential candidate" polls. Most people are lazy and will not have a clue about who is even running until later on.
Dr. Paul, I think, would perform much better than this poll indicates. If this scenario came about, Dr.Paul's message would be reaching a much greater number of people if only because more people would be paying attention.

Third party or no this is

Third party or no this is very good for Ron. His support is a lot deeper than these other polls indicate.

Very good news! This poll is

Very good news!

This poll is very important to keep in memory all the time and in the future.

This shows that Paul's support is much more bigger than what the GOP polls are telling.

This kind of numbers would also guarantee Paul a place in the TV debates against Obama&Romney.

Anything can happen in this election cycle. I love it.

While that is very interesting indeed, what is even more

interesting is they noted they included 20% cell phones in the survey. Now, if they'd just correct that figure to more accurately reflect the distribution of cell phones to voters nationwide - I'd bet Dr. Paul's numbers are even higher than 18%. I'd be willing to bet he's within striking distance of either of the other two.

Of course, I don't see Paul going that route or the media playing fair with him. I highly expect every dirty trick in the book to come out. Don't think for a nanosecond either the media or the Repugnocrats are going to give Paul an inch.

Interesting poll.

Interesting poll.

I think its important that all other Republicans know/learn

that over 5 million Ron Paul Republicans will not be voting.
They can have Obama for another 4 years. Perhaps it will take that time for the Tea Party to grow up and wise up on Foreign policy. It Mitt, Newt, or Herman think they can win this thing without Ron Paul Republicans, tell them to go talk to John McCain.

Why

Why the threatening tone? The GOP is not listening to you.

Get yourself, your family, and your friends to help get DELEGATES FOR RON PAUL and the GOP will listen. Only delegates matter.

I am not really sold on the 3rd party idea, but still I was surprised by this poll.

I saw it! It's true...THIS

I saw it! It's true...THIS MEANS HE'S IN THE DEBATES IF HE RUNS 3RD PARTY!

While that sounds promising, you are counting chickens early.

They haven't hatched yet.

Don't expect that 18% to hold for long if that day arrives and Paul decides to strike out on a separate path to the White House.

At that point, the media will completely ignore and/or denigrate him even more so than they are doing now. (if such were possible)

The pollsters will stop including him in this sort of poll and thus the bi-partisan commission will say he didn't meet the 15% in five polls (of THEIR choosing) so thus - sorry, it's no invitation for you.

I'd be shocked if they played fair. I can't see why anyone would think they would.
