Washington Times: The muzzling of Ron Paul and the GOP debate

http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/stimulus...

If Ron Paul's supporters always seem angry, they sometimes have a reason.

Last night's GOP debate featured foreign policy. For 90 minutes the candidates fielded questions and declared their positions on Pakistan, Iran, China, nuclear arms proliferation, American forces in Afghanistan, and other matters of pressing concern. CBS aired only 60 minutes of that, which was a shame, and of those 60 minutes, Dr. Paul was given exactly ...

89 seconds.

You need not be a Paul supporter to recognize the petty injustice of that. Paul has yet to poll much above ten-percent among Republicans, but he's polled that consistently, doing better than Rick Santorum, Jon Huntsman, and Michele Bachmann on a regular basis and better than Rick Perry since Perry's flameout. And yet he regularly gets relatively little media attention, and has received the least air time of any candidate who's participated in the entire series of debates.

It was especially unfortunate that the public heard so little of Paul during this last debate. His positions are the most at variance with the rest of the pack, offering genuine alternatives to policies that the other candidates take as given.

Still trying

Trying again to report this stuff as best I can on my blog.

Did some timing and other breakdowns to show how ridiculous the whole thing is.

CBS POLL : Who Won The GOP Debate?

LOL

(DISCLAIMER: This poll is hosted online and therefore is not scientific)

RP winning does not compute to these people lol.

identify CBS's top 5 advertisers and

start a Daily Paul boycott.

seems to me if CBS isn't willing to fairly allow the good Dr a chance, it should hit CBS where it counts. In the pocketbook.

write the top 5 CBS advertisers and let them know that because of the bias shown by CBS (without blaming anyone or naming Dr Paul) that you will NOT be using their products or services. Even better if this means you have to cancel service by the advertiser.

Very

nice. Lots of great comments, too. I especially liked the one wherein the commenter shared that an Obama-supporter couple is now, after the debate, a Ron-Paul-supporter couple due to Dr. Paul's stance that "Torture is immoral"...

BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

I will tell you another uplifting story

Overnight I encountered an article from San Francisco Chronicle paper where a guy who was organizing fundraisers for Obama 4 years ago now says he is telling everyone to vote for Ron Paul...why? because of Obama administration crackdown on medical marijuana in CA and elsewere.

IDEA CAME TO ME - INTERNET PEACE CHAIN FOR RON PAUL

I am fired up like others about the 89 seconds given to Ron Paul. I know we want to do everything we can to get his name and message out to Americans. Some thoughts on how to show are support and please add your ideas or thoughts as well.

Another way to show our support would be to have an Internet Peace Chain for Ron Paul. It would start out with one name, and for everyone who is voting or maybe supports Ron Paul could add their name to the chain. This could be another way to poll and could not be disputed by the media at all. It would be our poll and our poll alone, owned by us, Americans for Ron Paul. It could have a ticker keeping track of the number of supporters who joined along with the names all linked together. A morale booster for all of us.

Not everyone would want to give their name but I know I sure would if it meant getting a true number to the how many really do support Ron Paul. Another way to show support would get 25 people to stand on freeway overpasses with a huge sign "Ron Paul for Peace" and everyone join arms at a certain time on a certain day throughout America. It would be our peace chain. Any suggestions?

I would do my best to show up

on that freeway overpass with my family and our Ron Paul signs. I'm in for this one!

Good and fair article

Read the entire article to the very bottom. I think it will make all Ron Paul supporters "happy". Ron Paul appearances are always very positive experiences. There is NO OTHER candidate that can generate such POWER!

"Nothing is as it appears; everything is smoke and mirrors"

Well, once again

the effort on CBS's part was just too BLATANT. Ron Paul is getting tons of publicity for being "blacked out" after their lame attempt at manipulation.

Ron Paul supporters never seem angry

They are happy and enthusiastic.

Speak for yourself

The only way this doesn't make you FUCKING MAD is if you are a caine/romney supporter or are just stupid.

CBS News Doesn’t Support the Troops

That is, if gauging the amount of time CBS News allotted each candidate during the televised portion of last night’s Republican presidential debate compared to how much money our military donates to each candidate. This is not a scientific analysis—but it doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ron Paul got shafted on time last night (h/t RonPaulForums.com):

CBS foreign policy debate and troop donation statistics:

Paul – 1 question, 1 follow up, $113,739 from troops

Perry – 5 questions, 2 follow ups, $7,325 from troops

Gingrich – 5 questions, 1 follow up, $1,725 from troops

Cain – 5 questions, 1 follow up, $9,518 from troops

Romney – 4 questions, 1 follow up, $11,555 from troops

Santorum – 3 questions, 2 follow ups, $750 from troops

Bachmann – 3 questions, $7,182 from troops

Huntsman – 2 questions, 1 follow up, $0 from troops

The enemy of my enemy is my friend

In other words the message here is "Republicans are a dirty bunch-vote Democrat." Watch how fast Wash Times sinks their knife in him when its time for them to take THEIR anti-RP stance.

I loved this article and all

I loved this article and all the comments I read, as well. TY for some good news.

Please comment and be encouraging

Everyone who reads the article: Jim Picht has written many articles and is a smart and courteous blogger. He is though a conformist, prototypical GOP proponent. That is, he will admittedly support the fallacious "most likely to win" candidate while sacrificing his principles.

Lets show how constructive we can be with fact and principled based comments on his thread and other blog posts of his.
