Bloomberg News Poll: Four-Way Republican Dead Heat in Iowa Caucuses - Cain 20%, Paul 19%, Romney 18%, Gingrich 17%

Nope, this is not an online poll, lol.

This poll was conducted by the same company that does the Des Moines Register poll.

Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are in a dead heat as the top choices for Iowans likely to attend the Jan. 3 Republican presidential caucuses.

A Bloomberg News poll shows Cain at 20 percent, Paul at 19 percent, Romney at 18 percent and Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely attendees with the caucuses that start the nominating contests seven weeks away.

After what CBS News did to Ron Paul in last debate, this story must have been written to increase their circulation.

Voting is a fraud.

Voting is participating actively in giving a monopoly on aggressing against others, to your gang.
I don't vote because it is immoral and perpetrates evil.
Freedom and liberty are unobtainable in a system where people vote away other peoples rights and property.
Stop playing their game. Government is nothing but force. When you vote you are just trying to force your way on others who oppose it. Society would be far better without anybody having a monopoly on the initiation of force.

uh oh

what if there were a vote that said:
This vote is to remove all control over your life by other.

Would you go vote?

I feel like DP is the closest you're going to get to. It isn't a compromise to vote, it is a step in the right direction.

Pottawattamie County Iowa

"Capitalism should not be condemned, since we haven't had capitalism." -Dr. Ron Paul

You know what really bothers

You know what really bothers me? I'm still thinking about the computerized voting. In my district, there is no paper trail and it can easily be manipulated. I started thinking this past month about it and wondering if the vote is being controlled or not. I also worked at a major affiliate station at one time and know how things can get manipulated. So I started asking myself (just out of curiosity) how the media would act if the vote is actually manipulated now. I thought that if Dr. Paul has a huge lead, the media would try to hide it. Well, they've been doing that. I'm not a conspiracy theorist; I was just wondering about it. What if theoretically a candidate is "pre-chosen". How could that happen if the polls showed Dr. Paul way ahead? The public would know something is wrong if for instance Santorum won all the votes. He's been at the bottom of the polls most of the time, It wouldn't make sense. So how would the media make sense of someone else winning Iowa if Ron Paul actually has a big lead? The best way would be to say the vote is close I would presume. Not only is the media saying it's close; they have 4 candidates in a "dead heat". If they keep it at that for the last month, then if Cain pulls out with a win, no one will dispute it. If Romney pulls out with a win, no one will dispute (and so on). There may be no manipulating of the voting machines at all but without some kind of proof that our votes were counted, I will always be suspicious. And now that the media is blatantly pushing or omitting certain candidates, I'm even THAT much more suspicious. Computers can be easily messed with and until we get the voting under our control again, I will always wonder. Sorry about the pessimism.

I wonder less about the media

I wonder less about the media and more about the RNC & GOP leaders who are more concerned with promoting their choices than listening to common sense.

The Biggest Obstacle to Winning Iowa...

will be none other than the Iowa state Republican leadership. My observations of Matt Strawn and Steve Scheffler lead me to believe that they are no friends of Ron Paul, and will stop at nothing to make sure he doesn't win in January. That is why the integrity of the vote and potential election fraud is so important!

Real Clear Politics shows Ron

Real Clear Politics shows Ron Paul in 2nd place in New Hampshire now with 17% (way behind Romney) but still thats huge and I haven't heard a word about that poll anywhere. Every poll out of NH shows Paul in double digits. Cain has tumbled from 24 to 8 in NH.

The stupid bimbo Laura Ingram said that this poll means nothing.

Because Ron Paul is at 18%.

That's right. She was reading the candidates Iowa Poll positions and as soon as she saw Ron Paul at 19% she said: "What? Ron Paul at 19%. This poll doesn't mean anything. I mean God bless him but c'mon."

This is exactly what this dirty rotted wench said about Dr. Paul on her radio show tonight.

I was fuming.

Let's flood her email with responses to this.

Ingram, Limbaugh (who said Obama is a better president than Ron Paul would be), Glenn Beck, FOX News etc. are all mainstream, establshment republican pukes.

It's for reasons like this that I hope Dr. Paul runs as a Libertarian so we get to spoil their little republican party.

Unless of course Dr. Paul wins!

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

bloomberg poll

Anyone think that maybe the Bloomberg network released this poll to take some pressure off his controversial cleaning of Zuccotti park? Same timing?!

no

not really..

The other very significant

The other very significant number in this poll is the 9% who say Paul is their second choice. There are only two candidates in this race who aren't flavors of the month... Romney and Paul. And you can bet that none of the Romney supporters have Paul as their second choice. That means... that 9% will likely move to Paul when their first choice tanks. Call the 19% a 28%.

.

"And you can bet that none of the Romney supporters have Paul as their second choice."

Don't be so sure. On this site alone I've read several comments where people have talked to Romney supporters who also liked Paul but either didn't know enough about him or pulled out the old "I like him except for X" routine.

Oddly enough, Here in MA I have never once met a Romney supporter in this state (knowingly, at least).

A signature used to be here!

Thank you for the report.

I have asked the few people from Mass. and NH whom I've had the chance to, whether they see his support to be all that strong. So far, I haven't had much opportunity to talk to people in your neck of the woods.
When you say you have never met a MR supporter, do you know a lot of conservatives and Republicans? Who is most popular, in your experience?

reply

The Boston area, especially my neighborhood, is mostly Democrats, but the Republicans I've talked to either like Paul(!), Cain, or...Palin. A lot of the Dems here like Paul as well, though most still seem to be under Obama's spell.

Im starting to get excited

Im starting to get excited for our campaigns chances at winning. Especially in Iowa where numerous local elected officials have endorsed Ron Paul. The campaign is picking up steam and people are beginning to pay attention. The polls which I still believe are skewed against Ron show him in a virtual dead heat with the other candidates. Its the highest I have seen him poll and I always believe we are at least 5% better than the poll indicates. I really, really, really, hope we take Iowa so I can watch the media eat it about Ron Paul not being a front runner or being electable.

Yeah! I feel that way, too.

"I really, really, really, hope we take Iowa so I can watch the media eat it about Ron Paul not being a front runner or being electable."

I can't wait to hear them choke on the news. I hope we sweep it so they can't lie about it, too.

Who's on top???

From Bloomberg.com:

Polls in Iowa and New Hampshire -- site of the nation’s first primary -- are better barometers of the candidate field than national surveys because voters in those states are paying more attention and are aware of their early role in shaping the Republican race.

More:

There’s good news in the poll for Paul, 76, a Texas congressman who has attracted ardent supporters. Among likely caucus-goers who say their minds are made up, Paul leads with 32 percent, followed by Romney at 25 percent and Gingrich, a former House speaker, at 17 percent.
Among Paul supporters who backed him in the 2008 caucuses, 69 percent are still with him now.
Poll participant Sarah Stang, 78, a retired teacher who lives in Osage, Iowa, said she switched parties four years ago so she could vote for Paul.
“He doesn’t want to raise taxes on us middle- and low- income people,” she said, adding that she “loves” his challenges to the Federal Reserve. “They have way too much power. They should let the marketplace do what it’s supposed to,” she said.

That is both,

Truth and Soul

CBS news must be embarrassed.

CBS news must be embarrassed. Oh, I forgot they don't have any decency.

Matt Drudge is on our side

Finally they acknowledge that he's a contender. Along with the momentum C4L has gained since 08, it seems like perhaps the other largest single source of increased visibility has been the almost daily, and always positive links on Drudge Report to RP-related articles. It might not seem important, but Drudge drives more web traffic than anyone, and when he brings attention to something like the debate bias, it forces the MSM to answer the questions they usually just ignore or whitewash. I don't know if there's any way to persuade him to get behind RP in a bigger way, but it seems to me like his site is literally the only "mainstream" media source for average Americans that has been unequivocally fair and honest about the campaign.

Ron Paul is NUMBER ONE!

Why? Because Cain simply isn't "Abel"

Keep in mind

These are land-line polls from what I understand.
19 percent almost brings a tear to my eye, but I have a feeling that number will be over 30 percent once the "cell phone only" Paul voters vote!

Good things are happening.
The media is still very dismissive of Dr. Paul in light of all this, and I hope they keep dismissing him all the way to the white house.
It would make it that much sweeter.

Bill O'Reilly can keep on saying we are "Slamming" the polls unfairly...whatever that means.
As far as I know, other voters can "slam" the polls for their favorite candidates as well.

I Don't go by these internet polls the media

Brings out where Paul is usually at 8-to-10 %.. I stop believing these polls when I seen Ron Paul literally stay where he's at after all the straw poll wins he's getting, but Bachman and Cain rise after 1 straw poll win..

Another thing i'm concerned about is how come every interview he gets from the big media comes with the question "will you run as an independent". I think their not sure whats going on and are trying to plan ahead and stop any chances of him going solo.

I don't know much about this, just some things I'm picking up from watching the news.

I saw Fox News announce the results...

They flashed the results, talked about the "four way dead heat" and spent the next twenty minutes talking about Gingrich, Cain, Romney and......... Perry!

Nothing about that guy in second place,.... now, what was his name?

Did your mom move there too so you could continue living in here basement? This is hilarious!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for spamming onto these comments, but I figure it's the quickest way to get the message out. The RNC has been complicit in the marginalization of Dr. Paul, as well as the media blackout. We all know this. I have set up a little website to bring attention to this fact and to help Dr. Paul. It is not the kind of thing he would do (in fact he couldn't even acknowledge it without being summarily expelled from the GOP), but it IS the kind of thing I would do, ESPECIALLY after the last debate where Dr. Paul got a whole 90 seconds to speak. This must stop and by God it WILL stop, and YOU'RE going to help he stop it!

Go to http://RonPaulPromise.com and sign up please, and spread the word. I set up the site myself it has no add and no profit, just a labor of love in defense of Dr. Paul.

Saving the world one post at a time!

"Paul’s success in this poll, and his possible success in the caucuses, can be attributed to a huge lead in another key stat from this survey. Asked if they “have been contacted by the campaign through email, direct mail, telephone, or by someone coming to your door in the past year or by meeting the candidate in person,” a whopping 67% responded “yes,” more than 20% higher than Romney and Cain, and more than doubling Gingrich’s 29%. Especially in early states, the ground game is king, and Paul is running over his co-frontrunners."

Wow. phone from home program really helped out, good work.
