Bloomberg: Gingrich Said to Be Paid $1.6M by Freddie Mac

"Newt Gingrich made between $1.6 million and $1.8 million in consulting fees from two contracts with mortgage company Freddie Mac, according to two people familiar with the arrangement."

"The total amount is significantly larger than the $300,000 payment from Freddie Mac that Gingrich was asked about during a Republican presidential debate on Nov. 9 sponsored by CNBC, and more than was disclosed in the middle of congressional investigations into the housing industry collapse."

"Gingrich’s business relationship with Freddie Mac spanned a period of eight years."

Not worth pursuing

He has the right to make money wile not in office and he has the right today to not like how things worked out with Fannie as they did not do what he recommended supposedly. I don't think we have anything on him with this, looks legit, at least on the surface. Nothing to see here folks! Let's move on. Next?

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

You're not serious, are you?

This isn't about making money on a personal level, this is about the former Speaker of the House aiding and abetting the bankers in their looting of the public via the mortgage meltdown and subsequent taxpayer-funded bailout through TARP and secretly through the FED. Thousands of people have lost their homes, savers are being wiped out by 0% interest rates, our credit rating has been downgraded, government bailouts to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are now into the hundreds of billions of dollars, European bankers are foisting austerity onto the backs of taxpayers eliciting civil unrest, the prime ministers of four of the five PIIGS nations have been removed and replaced and all of this is due to the cabal of banking terrorists and their lobbyists who own our government. Newt Gingrich was "consulting" these criminals during the entire period of the bubble...he was part of the problem.

Nothing to see? Wipe clear your eyes.

So Newt is the lobbyist who sold the Neo-cons into voting to let the Dem's give Fanny and Freddy the power to give loans to people who did not have the money to make the payments. So the recession was Newts Idea hahahaha PRICLESS! OMG This stuff just gets better and better

his campaign is over....

slowly, the true nature of each hopeful comes out, and eventually after the dishonest, the greedy, the fakers and the phonies all implode, we will be left with one of the few honest politicians there is...ron paul!
i truly believe that this is our last and only hope we have left to get it right and elect ron paul as president. anyone else, and i dont see much of a future for our kids and grandkids.....

Yup. He and others have memory loss.

They can't remember the current $100M pay-out for the execs of these miserable companies either. Classic selective memory loss.

According To FIX NEWS...The Gremlin Gingrich denied Involvment

Lying bastard...He is so screwed now..Another bites the dust..

Yeah, that bugged me during the debate

when he was asked about his "consulting" with Mae & Mac. He said he told them not to make those loans, and the monderator of the debate didn't have the brains or balls to respond, "You were paid WHAT to tell them THAT????"

People..Newt was charged with

People..Newt was charged with OVER 80 counts of ethics violations, as WELL as being a CFR member. He is NOT for our sovereignty. Just another bad apple.

It is perfectly normal for a company to pay $1.8 million

to a consultant who tells them they are doing everything wrong. It's even more normal for the company not to follow the supposed advice of the high paid consultant.

When you peel back the first layer of the Newt onion you find a rotten smell and a money grubbing lobbyist with questionable ethics.

Consistent with Newt Mr. No-Morals Gingrich.

Money, power, and devil worship are the tenets of the NWO.

No honor amongst thieves?

“You ought to start with Barney Frank,” when talking about people to put in jail, Gingrich said, referring to the Massachusetts congressman who serves as the ranking Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee. “Go back and look at the lobbyists he was close to at Freddie Mac,” Gingrich said in the debate, sponsored by Bloomberg News and the Washington Post.

All you have to do is wait a

All you have to do is wait a few days for the dirt to rise up on other candidates, not for Paul though, 30+ years of political integrity!!!!! WHAOHAO

If you listen real hard tonight

on a quiet open field,
under the twinkling light of stars
you will hear a small squishing noise
followed by cussing.

Then a few moments of silence,
followed by more squishing
and more cussing.

Such is the sound of Newt's beleaguered campaign manager
stepping in the still-warm cow pies of his candidate's past.

Crony capitalist?

Crony capitalist?

Unbelievable...thank goodness for Bloomberg.

Newt must be taken to task over this imo.

So he's not just a fat

So he's not just a fat womanizing blowhard, he's a fat womanizing blowhard who gets paid $1.7 million for bad advice!

This needs to be investigated

This should be poison for Newt. It should kill his campaign.

Over $1 million in "consulting fees" from a government agency (public government sponsored enterprise (GSE))? And he attempts to deflect this with, "I did no lobbying"?

WTF could this fat puss have offered Freddie Mac that was worth over $1 million?

there's the s-word

"This should be poison for Newt. It should kill his campaign."

You used the s-word twice!

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.

I agree...
