But wait, there's more!

  • “Can’t Decide” (21.5 percent) was the most frequent second choice. Cain, Perry, Romney and Paul all had more than 10 percent support as respondents’ second choice.
  • Most of the candidates have a small gender gap among supporters. Cain does much better among women than men as do Perry and Gingrich. Paul and Bachmann do better with men than with women.
  • Cain has strong support across all income levels, particularly among those earning $100,000 a year or more. Among the least well off, Paul leads at around 41 percent. The wealthiest voters have the highest level of “undecideds.”
  • There are sizable differences in the level of candidate support based on religious beliefs. Cain leads among three categories — Catholics, born-again Protestants and mainstream Protestants. Among those with no religious preference, Paul captured nearly 59 percent.
  • Romney wins support across all educational levels. It rises with education level. Cain and Paul’s support is highest among those with either some college or a college degree.

The poll was compiled through phone interviews conducted between Nov. 1 and 13, and surveyed 979 registered Republicans and 277 registered independents. Of those polled, 377 (30.0 percent) stated that they definitely or probably would attend the Republican caucus on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Also this poll was only registered R's and indies so likely caucus goers could be more pro-Paul. Poll was conducted over two weeks Nov 1-13 possibly prior to Gingrich's "surge"

I believe Iowa is an open

I believe Iowa is an open caucus. So it shouldn't matter what party you're affiliated with. The important screening question on that survey was 'are you definitely attending the caucus?' Those are the people who should be polled regardless of independent, gop, or dem.

It's closed

But you can change your affiliation at the door, so it may as well be open.

this shows how uninformed some "religious" folks

can be.

Paul won important straw poll today

Are you as smart as a 6th grader in New Hampshire?

Today 250 5th and 6th graders held a straw poll with Governor Lynch officiating. Apparently they know that Ron Paul is the only one who actually gives a crap about their future - he overwhelming won the straw. Bachmann was second. Cain third. Romney fourth. Obama fifth (with only 39 votes).

Who do you think their parents are voting for?

Ron Paul would be the catalyst

to end the terrible influence of lobbyists in legislation .. but no one here or at the campaign wants to tackle the issue ... very troubling ..

New Idea for RP Campaign

I don’t usually post to this site, even though I tune in everyday. I am a very strong supporter Of Dr. Paul, both financially and with media and design ideas.

I’m growing tired of nine out of ten people I talk to about Ron Paul admitting to little or no knowledge about who he is or what he stands for.

I think it might be a good idea to put together a communications team responsible for creating an easy to understand, PowerPoint style presentation that covers chapter and verse all of the major points of the Ron Paul Revolution.

This presentation might best be presented by first showing all the facts regarding economic, health, military, domestic/foreign policy issues and much more of what Dr. Paul explains so well, in an outline form. Then each subject can be followed up at length further into the presentation.

This presentation may work best if it is not revealed right up front as Ron Paul’s solutions to our problems. A possible title might be: What’s Wrong with Our World and how to fix it. Only on the last page would it be revealed that these Ideas are generated by Ron Paul and his team of advisors. This way the general audience will have a chance to learn and understand the reality of what we are up against and what is required of us to fix the mess we’re in, without first having to get past the "Who is Ron Paul" thing.

I’m a photographer and filmmaker. I’m also a good writer and have access to much better writers. I would be happy to volunteer on such a project or just as happy to cheer on the professionals who might take it on.

Sincerely,

polls ...why.???. ron is strong in iowa.. cept..this

er//// ???????? rasmussen has gingrich 34 .. romney 23 cain 14 then ron 10 % 4th .. no one here wants to discuss the lobbyist influence in politics and ron could help shape the dialogue.... we just focus on the idiot polls..

Why is the Rasmussen poll so out of line with this poll.

Hi all, I am a long time RP supporter and libertarian, but am new to posting on this site.
I don't get how this poll could put Gingrich at 4.5% and Paul at 20%, while the Rasmussen poll puts Gingrich at 34% and Paul at 10%. Drudge posted the Rasmussen poll rather then this poll and I have noticed Drudge has posted fewer and fewer links to favorable articles about Ron Paul. Wonder if he is being bought off?

It was the wording in the poll questions.

Trickery! There is another thread that explains it.

it's a crap poll, that's why

Gingrich with that many votes??? really?? lies.

They can prop up puppets like Perry and Cain, but they should have tossed Gingrich years ago.

P.S. i'm in Iowa. Only seen one yard sign for Cain ONLY 1....and guess what. It's been taken down : )

Rasmussen, Bought Off, Hence his many appearances on Fox News

He use to be a decent pollster, but he has been bought off. I lost all respect for him...So sad

Why The Republican Establishment Should Embrace Ron Paul

The Republican Party Establishment would be wise to embrace Ron Paul so as to be associated with leadership for real change rather than be left behind defending status quo positions.

When presented with the choice of never ending wars, bankruptcy, and full scale Depression or starting the process of recovery by attacking the deficit, Ron Paul’s message can only grow among voters.

There are already signs of support for Ron Paul coming from traditional Democratic voters who are close observers of the political scene. As Ron Paul’s views become more known to mainstream Democrats, particularly when it comes to the wars, one can see the great potential for his winning the general election. Polls show that Ron Paul already beats Obama when it comes to independent voters.

The Republicans can not afford anymore surprises. Ron Paul has no skeletons in his closet. His consistency to principles when it comes to voting record as well as personal life can only be admired. Bringing and keeping the hearts and minds of the massive following that Ron Paul has among the younger generation should be very appealing when it comes to the future of the Republican Party.

The most important reason why the Republican Party Establishment should embrace Ron Paul is doing what’s best for the country. The trust and credibility that Ron Paul has earned will allow him to successfully explain the need for some patience and sacrifice to work our way out of the present economic crisis, which will be required of our next President. The actions that he proposes are absolutely needed to start the recovery process.

It is INCONCEIVABLE that Herman Cain wd still be up in the polls

In fact, it is UNBELIEVABLE. I mean after his complete LACK OF KNOWLEDGE on Afghanistan & Iran.

I saw the interview, and I was actually embarassed for the man. It was an OBVIOUS LACK OF KNOWDEGE, and NOT a gaffe.

So, for the shysters to keep putting up PHONY POLLS is just amazing to me. How STUPID do they think people are??

I don't doubt that RP has the

I don't doubt that RP has the most support in Iowa because he has spent a lot of time, effort, and money there. Our people and the phone bank effort are amazing. We need to be vigilant about the shenanigans by the GOP, polling/caucus places, and other dark force efforts. If I remember correctly, Paul's own campaign had some shenanigans go down last minute in Iowa with a database. Some of the other states were mislead by the local GOP about polling place times and location announcements and other dirty tricks. Another problem I noticed with caucuses which could be a strength actually for the knowledgeable RP supporters is that some states hold an unofficial vote before the actual caucus- whereby many voters leave after the vote (thinking they cast a real vote) and do not stay for the actual caucus that matters. I don't know if this is the way it goes down in Iowa, but if so, Ron Paul supporters need to stay for the actual caucus. RP supporters and voters need to be on guard for all the tricks.

Good point.

I think there should be a list of things to watch for based on what happened last time. I also remember shenanigans by the GOP but not specifics. How would one go about compiling a list of things to watch out for or maybe to prepare for?

Check this out ...

Here is the 2008 polling results in chronological order.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/ia/io...

Three notes of interest ...

The Huckster was only polling around 20% in Iowa at this time last year and ended up winning big.

Iowa State and the Des Moine Register were the most accurate polling outfits when it came to Iowa.

The Huckster took the lead the first week of December so we need to see a surge about that time as well.

Good idea. I have heard Ron Paul state many times that same advice. I heard him say that in Rand Paul's election as well.

Besides. It is important to blow the top off, not just win Iowa.

SNOWBALL EFFECT, get ready

SNOWBALL EFFECT

I know so many people who like Ron Paul, would love to vote for him, but think he has no chance. Now that they see he does have a chance, they'll support him.

I also know of big Ron Paul supporters who have sat on the sidelines, not donating or participating this cycle because they think he's a moonshot. Now that'll change.

Expect to see a big boost in his numbers soon.

Yep.

I think the tipping point was the value voters summit, but this is certainly another landmark.

I got a solicitation from Michele Bachmann

and I responded, "Ms. Bachmann, the best thing you could do for the Republic would be to drop out and throw your unfettered support behind Ron Paul, the only honest man in Washington, DC.

"After all, it's about saving the Republic from that "community organizer," not about personal aggrandizement, right?"

We'll see if there's any response.
