Who might be President Paul's Vice-President?
Submitted by flybeech on Thu, 11/17/2011 - 19:07I suspect Dr. Paul already knows who will be his Vice-President and will tell us when the time is right, but who do you like, who do you think he will choose and why?

Judge Napi
Would be my choice.
Someone else mentioned Chuck
Someone else mentioned Chuck Hagel...any thoughts on him?
Hear me out
A friend of mine made a good point:
"Cynthia McKinney would be a good choice, for the same reason Condi Rice is being discussed. Being black, she negates Obama using racism as an issue and being a woman, counters Obama’s plan to name Hillary as VP next year to capture the feminist vote."
AND she's not a war hawk.
Yeah but
You'd lose about 96.37% of the Republican vote that is on the fence. Not gonna happen.

Why?
a counter to Hillary would be important, she's spent a LOT of time in the Middle East (another counter to Hillary)... I think it'd be a great match... either her or Doug Wead.

Vince Vaughn
and not because we share names.
If Reagan could do it, so could Vince.

A life and death question.
They will want him to "compromise" with other factions of the GOP, and choose someone with "more broad support" - Mittens, or perhaps Jeb Bush. It may prove difficult to say "No." But the good doctor has to make it clear that removing him would not change the direction of his administration. In my opinion, a reach across some barrier that "broadens the base" is in order. I love the suggestion of Russel Means - Go for the Native American vote. How much more "grass roots" can you get?
Not serious, because he is too controversial, but I would LOVE to see Penis Morris and Bill O'Reilly react to a Farrakhan VP - lol! A black, Muslim VP choice, OMG, they would explode on camera.
Perhaps the "best" move would be Dennis Kucinich - I know, he is too socialist. But, he agrees on 2 of the biggies - the war and the Fed. If it is a "broader base" one is after, how broad can you get, a GOP / Dem ticket?
There are many people I like conceptually, Rand, Chuck Baldwin, Jesse Ventura, but we really do have to ask "How to beat Obama" and those folks would really merely solidify the support of existing RP supporters, and we are pretty solid already.
I look forward to the announcement, the right choice is critical in so many ways.
Whatever else I said a minute ago, the last word I want to get in is
LOVE!
I agree whoever he picks as VP will split some of his support
For me, to chose his son a freshman Senator makes him look like North Korea, to pick TV/Radio personalities makes him look like all his every wanted was a soap box, any of those picks I would find to be weak on his part, and I would expect Obama to win. Unless he picks someone who has the power to make his platform "Restoring America" or "Freedom is popular" happen, we'll be the biggest losers. VP needs to have allot of POWER and that is not Rand or any TV personality. It's not like we're trying to sustain the Neos agenda, we are a rEVOLution.
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
Doug Wead for VP
Wead has been doing all the heavy lifting in Iowa.

It was designed to take the government

Doug
doug would be great, he's got the experience and clout

I'd like to see Peter Schiff
I'd like to see Peter Schiff or someone with an amazing understand of economics. Schiff would be able to destroy Biden in a debate.
Jesse Ventura
This whole campaign has had a circus like atmosphere, a little more wouldn't hurt. And he would bring in a lot of votes from people who don't follow politics.
VPs are useless anyway. We don't need the smartest or the most principled in that role. We need someone where they would think "If we killed Ron Paul, wouldn't this guy be an even worse scenario for us?"
If you value Ron Paul's life, support Jesse Ventura for Vice President!
"Quod scripsi scripsi."
Ashamed of Myself...here's why
You see, I selected Jon Huntsman and then Huntsman came out and blasted Ron Paul. I couldn't believe it. How could I have considered this guy who comes from a good family and then he comes out and blasts the ONLY MAN who can RESTORE through Honest Healing Methods, the USA? There is no one else except RAND PAUL, who is young and has the same conviction as his dad does to restore the USA. I pick RAND PAUL for Vice President.
Love and gratitude to all of the Ron Paul Family
fearless brave joyful peaceful loving grateful, compassionate
Only 2 possibilities
- Lew Rockwell
- Tom Woods
I DO NOT trust Rand- he thinks Guantanamo is good idea and acts too much like a politician.
Lew has too much potential
Lew has too much potential baggage.
I like Tom.
IMHO...
it HAS TO BE Rand Paul...simply for the fact that anytime in history when a President has tried to even mention the Gold Standard he was KILLED or had an assassination attempt. Kennedy..Reagan...
It HAS to be Rand...because then an assassination would be too risky..and an assassination on both would be too over the top.
I hate to be so blunt or so "tin hat" but history repeats itself it we don't learn from it the first time.
Lots of people, myself
Lots of people, myself included, despise dynasty -- even if it's a good one.
The only reason I'd want Rand is
because it would be neat to have the first father-son President-VP team in history.
I like Rand on everything but foreign policy. He's too much of a neocon: NOT as bad as the other neocons, but tainted enough by neoconservatism that he voted for sanctions on Iran.
Personally, I would like...
...Rand Paul. He would bring in conservatives and republicans still iffy on Ron without sacrificing many principles (the only disagreement I know of between the two is gitmo). However, I think it's safe to say that probably won't happen. :(

I think many would be a good fit.
Ex. Rand Paul, Napolitano, Walter Williams, Peter Schiff, maybe even Tom Woods.

Trying to spread bigoted remarks? I could care less if the Judge, or anyone else is gay. If they stand for freedom then they are my brothers and sisters in the Revolution. This fight is not about what personal choice you make, but about the freedom to make whatever personal choices you wish to make.
